Video Transcript for Review of Redline Horse Trailer Accessories - Protectant Pads - HTP24BK

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the 24 inch long horse trailer breast pad. Now, this horse trailer breast pad is designed to be used to provide maximum protection and comfort for your horse. These pads are nine inches wide, 24 inches long. They're filled with a two inch thick foam and then covered with a nice durable black vinyl.

These pads are designed to be installed inside the horse trailer to protect your horse from any damage to their body when they bump up against the trailer. As we mentioned the dimensions are, we mentioned the dimension on it. The length, 24 inches. The width, nine inches wide. Thickness is about two inches.

They do staple the vinyl to an nice cardboard backing. Now to install this, it does require mounting screws. Those we do sell separately on our website. They go by a part number of PS-8, and they are listed on this product page as a related product. So just to give you an idea, you can see it's a very well padded pad.

But that should do it for the review on this 24 inch long horse trailer breast pad.

I overhauled the inside of my Cherokee 2-horse bumper pull trailer. I installed new plywood on the walls and on the floor in the nose. I repainted the inside smoke gray and installed new wall pads and chest pads from etrailer.com.

Did the pads you purchased mount to the new plywood and then onto the trailer inside front and sides?and if so what thickness plywood did you use?how did these hold up to hosing out now and then?

Freddie B.

Yes George , mounted them to 58 plywood with fat pop rivets. Used leather punch to make holes in pad edge then drilled plywood for rivets. You can use screws. I dont spray them down. Just use bucket warm water and kitchen sponge. Holding up good.

I was impressed with the communication from the company regarding the order and thickness of this pad.

by:

The breast pads that I ordered for my horse trailer fit perfectly.

by:

We bought these to put in our old, but loved, 97 Featherlite. They look great, and will certainly do the job.

E-trailer has helped us locate and expedite parts needed for our daily operations. I enjoy doing business with them, my sales associate is always on top of our orders with excellent follow thru and great prices. Bob Goddard / CEO KMR Trailer sales

I am very pleased with the horse trailer divider and wall pads I purchased from etrailer.com. They are durable -still in great shape a year later.

by:

The pads were an exact match for what we had to replace and so fitting and installation was straight forward. The quality of the items was good and we are happy with them.

by:

slightly disappointedThe pad cover material and stitching seems great but we were disappointed to see cardboard on the backing, We like to hose out our trailer and I'm afraid if they get wet they will fall apart, We are going to Lowes and purchase some type of paneling to glue on the back to ensure it won't get wet,Overall, for the price we paid ,we are satisfied,

I received my irder so fast. Can't wait to install the side pads and breast plate I bought . They do have a cardboard back but if you have an enclosed trailer they are perfect. You have to have wood side panels. But in all they are a really good price. I will definitely order from them again!

by:

Nice pads to add along wall of slant load trailer to cover the aluminum strip that leaves silver marks on my white horse. Quick shipping & fair price.

by:

etrailer has been a great source for all my horse trailer needs. Whether I’m looking for something to upgrade my trailer or replace something destroyed by horses, etrailer has it. Easy to navigate website and quick delivery!!

by:

Love etrailer.com received my products that I ordered fast and they were excellent quality. If and when I need anything else I will definitely be ordering from here.

by:

etrailer was very quick to deliver my horse trailer pads. The pads were as described on the internet. I would deal with etrailer with pleasure again.

by:

Just received the package. The panels look great!! I just bought a used trailer and all the panels on the petitions are gone. I can't wait to install my new panels!!

by:

Worked really well for my daughters horse trailer.

by:

Good quality for the money. I took it apart and replaced the warped cardboard backing with 1/4 plywood. Now is flat and works great. Shipped quick. Good people.

by:

Great item and well worth it. They were shipped right away and got them quickly. No hassle or waiting for the product to be ordered or shipped. Highly recommend this company!!

Items are working great. Would highly recommend your company! Thank you for a great product!

by:

Looks just like the factory pad originally in the trailer

by:

The lightweight paperboard backing is cheep. The shipping carton is more sturdy than these. Will have to go get wood and remake these pads.

by:

Very happy with the excellent products! thanks

by:

The pads have worked wonderfully!!! I love them ... they have kept my horse safe! All of the pads, not just one or two of them, as I bought several.

by:

Too short, sent back

These breast pads are 24 inches long. People typically buy multiple to make a long strip to add to their horse trailer or you can get item # HTP60BK which is considered a side pad but made from the same materials.

by:

Perfect fit
Great quality

by:

I thought these would be a bit thicker, but it provided enough cushion for the horses.

by:

I thought this would have a heavier backing than just a piece of lightweight cardboard. It seems a little overpriced!

  • Can the Horse Trailer Breast Pad Be Attached Directly to Metal
The Horse Trailer Breast Pad part # HTP24BK could easily be attached to a metal divider using self tapping screws like part # 1131832. I would agree that generally speaking the breast pads are attached to plywood but I don't see an issue attaching them to metal either.

  • How to Install Redline Horse Trailer Side Pad HTP40BK
You may be able to re-cover your existing side pads but by the time you get all the materials to do this (vinyl fabric, glue, staples) it may be more cost-effective to replace them with the Redline Horse Trailer Side Pad # HTP40BK. This black vinyl pad measures 9 x 40 x 2-inches thick and has a cardboard backing and 2-inch thick foam to protect your friends when you're on the road. To install a new pad we suggest #8 x 3/4-inch Horse Pad Screws # PS-8, sold individually. If you need pads...

  • Is There a Height to Install Horse Trailer Breast Pad
There is not a recommended height to install the Horse Trailer Breast Pad # HTP24BK; you can install them where you think they will be most effective. To install these in your trailer we have Trailer Horse Pad Screw # PS-8 which is a 3/4" #8 screw.

  • Horse Trailer Side and Breast Pad Recommendations
Yes, there was a part number change, and the SP1924 is now the the Horse Trailer Breast Pad - 24 inch, part # HTP24BK, and the SP1960 is now Horse Trailer Side Pad - 60 inch, part # HTP60BK. To attach these pads to your trailer you may also be interested in Trailer Horse Pad Screw (Qty 1), part # PS-8.

  • Is the 24 Inch Horse Trailer Breast Pad Pre-Drilled
Horse trailer pad # HTP24BK does not come pre-drilled because then it would limit what and where it could fit. We also recommend trailer horse pad screw # PS-8 to mount the pad. The screws are sold in quantities of 1.

  • Horse Trailer Side Pad Size Availability And Manufacturer
We have added the 60" X 12" Pad # HTP1260BK since the particular answer page you found was made. We do have the 40" X 9" Pad # HTP40BK and 60" X 9" Pad # HTP60BK. These are all made by Redline with Redneck Trailer Supply being the distributor for them. We also have their Horse Trailer Escape Door Pad # HTP12BK that is 12" X 9" and Horse Trailer Breast Pad # HTP24BK that is 24" X 9".

  • Mounting Screws for Installing Pads in Horse Trailer
Our horse trailer pad items such as 60-inch Side Pad # HTP60BK and 24-inch Breast Pad # HTP24BK don't come with included hardware because the requirements between different trailers can vary so much depending on the type of material the pads are mounted on. But we do offer a number 8 screw 3/4-inches long that has a finishing washer on it, part # PS-8. If this 3/4-inch length is suitable for your trailer then this is an excellent option. These are sold individually (qty of 1).

  • Recommended Screws for the Horse Trailer Pad HTP24BK
For screws to attach the part # HTP24BK to your horse trailer we recommend the part # PS-8. These screws are 3/4 of an inch long so I would go with a plywood thickness of at least 1/2 of an inch.

  • How to Attach a Horse Pad Inside a Trailer
Are the holes you are referring to threaded? If so then you could drill a 1/4" hole into one of our pads (see below) and then use a bolt to attach them to the wall. If the holes are not threaded then it may just be best to use a few phillips head screws on the outside border to affix the pad to your divider. I have attached a photo to show the method above. 60" long x 9" wide - part # HTP60BK 40" long x 9" wide - part # HTP40BK 24" long x 9" wide - part # HTP24BK 12" long x 9" wide...

  • Availability of a 12 Inch Wide by 24 Inch Long Enclosed Horse Trailer Pad
I have included a link to all of the trailer pads we carry below. We do not have an exact match for a 12 inch by 24 inch pad, but the closest is the Horse Trailer Breast Pad, # HTP24BK, that you have referenced which is 9 inches wide by 24 inches long. Another option would be to use 3 Horse Trailer Escape Door Pads, # HTP12BK, and turn them 90 degrees so they would be 12 inches wide and 27 inches long when mounted right next to each other.

  • How to Install Redline Horse Trailer Pads
When replacing your horse trailer pads, be sure to pad all dividers and walls. The pads are constructed of a very durable vinyl sewn over 2" of foam onto rigid cardboard. They stand the test of time and hold up in all climates. There is no need to add additional backing to the pads, but if you choose to do so, you can mount them to 1/4" plywood and then mount them to the walls of your trailer. The pads are surrounded by a 1" border where there is no padding. This is where you will want...
