This base plate's hidden design creates a clean and seamless look. The bracket arms are easily removable, creating a slick appearance when you're not flat towing. Because the arms can be removed, you also won't have to worry about banging your leg into any protruding arms when you walk by.
Attaching and removing the bracket arms is a breeze. To attach the arms to the base plate, simply insert them into the receivers and rotate them until they lock into place. Once you're finished towing and want to remove the arms, pull the pin to disengage the lock, rotate the arms, and remove them from the receivers. Finally, plug up the now empty receivers with the included receiver covers to help keep dirt and debris out of the base plate and provide a finished look.
Flat towing your vehicle is much more convenient than using a trailer or a tow dolly. These other options take up much more storage space, leaving you less room both at home and at the campsite. In addition, securing your vehicle to a trailer or tow dolly can be a hassle and more time consuming than hooking up with a tow bar.
There are 5 basic components needed when flat towing a vehicle: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking system.
The tow bar links your towed car to your motorhome. It attaches to the custom-fit base plates that install on the frame of your towed car. Safety cables ensure that your towed car does not separate from your motorhome in the event that your tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring allows your towed vehicle's signal lights to sync up with your motorhome's tail lights, which is required by law in most states. Finally, the supplemental braking system - also required in most states - brakes your towed car when the brakes in your motorhome are activated, preventing wear on the motorhome and decreasing braking distance for your entire setup.

High quality products, fast shipping, excellent online documentation and/or videos. It all adds up to being able to set up my "toad" myself instead of paying someone hundreds of dollars to do the work with questionable results. This is my second time using these products for setting up a "toad".
Just installed the Blue Ox BX1143 on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Installation went well and the instructions were spot on. Also watched a couple etrailer videos which also helped. Easy enough to install in my driveway. Hardest part was removing the front fascia. You would have to do that no matter what baseplate you install. I also liked this unit because you didn’t have to modify or grind on the frame like other style baseplates. Just finished so haven’t towed car yet but don’t anticipate any issues.
Took a bit longer to install than I anticipated. Getting parts from e trailer was easy part. Video instructions were indestructible. Would buy again
Installed by trailer mechanic, works just as advertised. I recommend the purchase to others for the same flat towing projects. We are flat towing a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk.
My installer’s supplier told them that these weren’t available for the 2022 Cherokee, but I found them on Etrailer.com. They are working great.
Put this new faceplate on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee trail hawk . Fits and looks great.
The tow plates are spot on but plug bracket wasn’t made for six prong plug I had to redesign it a bit for it to work and when I got the plates the hardware wasn’t there had to wait another week and a half for it to come in to finish the job.. for those two things I’m giving it 4 stars

Always excellent customer service and product Information, i.e. written instructions and how to videos. I have ordered multiple times and products, and their service is always excellent.
All went together without issue. Please note, even though assembly refers to wrench sizes when referencing nuts and bolts, torque specs are referring to bolt diameter. Mistaking those could lead to over torqued or even stripped tap plates!

I did not install this myself. However the installer said it was pretty simple. Yesterday towed my vehicle for the first time and the hook up was pretty straight forward.
This fits perfectly, and with the video and instructions, it was an easy installation.
Received them the next day & it was free shipping, very well packaged. Have not installed thought I would wait till I got the wiring kit for lights.
