Base Plate Kit and Braking System for 2019 Jeep Cherokee Using Blue Ox Tow Bar
Question:
I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk and I would like to use this tow bar. I would like to set this up with a surge breaking system. Can you suggest the additional components needed to do this? Can you also tell me the correct base plate to use? Thank you

I'd be more than happy to help you get the parts you need for flat towing your 2019 Jeep Cherokee!
The Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380 is an excellent choice. If you are buying it new then it will come with safety cables. If not then I recommend the Safety Cables # BX88196 because they have a high enough weight rating and also have the coiled design so they won't be dragging on the ground.
For a base plate kit you'll need part # BX1143 for your Trailhawk Model.
If by surge system you're talking about hydraulic brakes on your motorhome then you can't get any better than the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 for your Jeep. This installs in such a way that it's hidden when you're using your Cherokee for everyday driving, but it's simple to setup (after the initial install) when you need to tow your Jeep.
For wiring check out the Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-15267 which looks clean and gives you a way to connect the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to keep your battery from being dead when you arrive at your destination.
Please note that some models of this vehicle may use Mortorq® fasteners. If your vehicle has these types of fasteners, you will need a PFMTS2E bit to remove them which can be ordered through a Snap-On dealer.
Attached are some review and installation videos for you to check out.
