Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real brief look at this Mighty Cord replacement twist lock female connector for RVs. Now this is going to replace a damaged 30 amp connector on your RV's power cord, or it can be used to build a new power cord. The twist lock design provides a secure connection with your RV's power inlet. And I did wanna point out that a weatherproof cover, which is sold separately, is available here at etrailer.com.
And that's going to thread over the ring on your RV's power inlet to protect against moisture and debris. So if you're interested in taking a closer look at that cover on your screen, I am including our item number. You can just take our item number and put it in the search field of our website and that will take you to that cover. So the cover slides off the strain relief so you can hardwire the plug into your cord, onto your cord, rather. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process.

Nice quality plugs. I made an adapter plate to cover the hole. Install the plug. Bingo. No more shoving all that cord in there.

Great part my power cord use to store in a push hole in the back of my trailer in to the bathroom under the sink now I store it in the storage on the side of my trailer

Got this to put on the end of my power cord for our camper along with the twist and lock male end to put on the camper so I don't have to stuff the cord in the side any longer.

Doesn't ;lock up tight enough and may cause a gap with an arc.

You mentioned that an arc formed and I wanted to clarify that you meant an electricity arc?

Yes, an electrical arc. The plug locking mechanism is not sufficient. A simple twist but does not have enough support to avoid a slight bend producing a gap. I wish I had saved the parts to show you but I replaced the item with a much better locking plug. The plug and wires were damaged on both the male and female sides. In my opinion, there just not enough support on the cable side.

I reached out to the manufacturer who advised that they have not had returns involving a loose connection that resulted in the damage that was described. There are several variables that could have contributed to the arc such as a defective shore cord, or the locking ring on the cord could be cracked or an initial installation issue.

Easy to install, been on RV for a few months now and no signs of arcing or shorting. Installation took 10 mins. Bought this to replace stock RV plug because I wanted a permanent barrier between inside and outside the RV.

Had to replace the original due to some issues with receiver plug being installed poorly during construction. This one looked much better and instructions were easy to follow.
