A unitized seal is a dual action seal. The inner part stays fixed on the spindle and the outer casing rotates with the hub. This type of seal has less wear and tear and provides better leak protection.

I repair trailers, these seals work good every time

This isnt the right seal

It sounds like maybe the measurements werent quite right. If you look on the original seals if you still have them, there should be a number stamped on them. That will give you the seal size you need. If that number isnt there or has worn away, you can find the seal size by measuring the inner diameter and the outer diameter of the seal. Then from there you will find the correct seal size. Part # PTW80157 is super handy to have for this kind of measuring.

Wrong seal

Oh, I am sorry that this seal is not a fit for you. It has an inner diameter of 2.875 inches and an outer diameter of 3.880 inches. It works with Dexter 9 and 10K axles. I recommend measuring both the inner and outer diameter of your original seal to find the one that will work for you. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

Good source for trailer parts and prompt shipping

by:

Perfect fit. Thank you for the crossover information on an older part. Great experience

by:

Being on the trailer repair business I replace a lot of axle seals - and a n alarming amount of failed ones. It doesn't pay to go cheap. These hub oil seals by Redline seem to be good quality and hold up well.

by:

Great product and fast service. I will be back I have other trailers and I have told several or maybe even many people about you. Thank you so much These were mostly bearings and seals for a heavy trailer so I don't have any pictures. Take my word for it though with them

My old seals were discontinued, but they had the matching tables to the new ones which turned out to be a perfect match to the old. Did not have this luck at two other sites. Highly recommend this company as you get what you need the first time and you get it quick!

  • How To Determine The Right Replacement Grease Seal
If you have the bearing numbers and the axle capacity, we may be able to find the right seal for your trailer. If not, you will need to take an accurate measurement of the outside diameter of your existing seal, or the inside diameter of the mounting surface for the seal in the hub. You will also need to get an accurate measurement of the spindle at the seal surface. I have attached a photo that shows the areas you will need to measure. You will need a precision instrument like a dial...

  • Measuring for Correct Replacement Oil Seal for Oil Bath Type Trailer Hub on 2005 Ranger Trailer
We do carry a range of seals for oil bath type hubs like the ones from your 2005 Ranger trailer. I do not have access to all seal specs for Ranger trailers so you'll just want to take precise measurements of the current seal inner and outer diameters. Then you can use the linked page that displays all oil seals and select the matching dimensions. For example, a unitized seal like # 10-51 has an inner diameter of 2.875-inches and an outer diameter of 3.880-inches. This seal does have multiple...

I'm not sure why they said those were your only options, but we do have the correct replacement oil seal for your Dexter 10k hub from 2006, and is the exact replacement for a National 370150BG: - Unitized Oil Seal # 10-51 The # 10-51 has an inner diameter of 2.875 inches and outer diameter of 3.880 inches; I verified with Dexter this is the correct part for your 10k hub.

  • Determining Correct Oil Bath Seal For Dexter D100G 10000lb Axle
Thank you for the picture! I reached out to my contact at Dexter and your axle is indeed a 10000lb axle, but with the axles age they were unable to confirm the oil seal or bearings used. With that said your axle being a general duty 10000lb axle should use the Oil seal # 10-51, but could use # 10-56. To determine the correct seal you will want to use digital calipers like # PTW80157 to precisely measure the spindle where the seal rides as shown in the included diagram, and the diameter...

I spoke with my contact at Dexter Axle who said that your axle is rated for 9,000 lbs and uses the inner bearing # 387A, outer bearing # 25580, and seal # 10-51. This seal has an inner diameter of 2.875" and an outer diameter of 3.880". I would verify that this is compatible with your hub by using a digital caliper that will measure to the thousandths place (three decimal places).

  • Recommended Replacement Oil Seal For A 2015 Big Tex 22GN Trailer
From what I could find out, the Big Tex 22GN tandem axle trailers use 10,000 pound axles. However, this is the brand new ones so I highly recommend double checking this with Big Tex if you are unsure. They will need the VIN for your trailer, so have that near by. If they confirm this information or if you are already sure you have 10,000 pound axles, it does narrow the search down to 2 options. First is the # 10-51. This will have an inner diameter of 2.875" and an outer diameter of 3.880"....
