A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

how to find the right tie down for my truck - custom camper tiedown

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

I like to thank Lori with etrailer and guiding me through the process of getting , Front and rear,
Torklift Camper Tie-downs -Custom Frame Mounts. Well doing research this was the best way to go for tying down and stabilizing a camper. Torklift camper tie-downs are solid well built!
I had ordered Mounts on Monday and received them on Friday . I Had the tie-downs on my , 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 by Saturday. The whole process was awesome , real easy installation. Great help with videos and instructions on mounting tie-downs on my truck provided by etrailer. I’m going to use them on my pop-up Hallmark Camper. Thank you for all your help etrailer.

by: Don06/12/2020

I bought the TLC2220 for a low profile pop up cabover camper which I had for another Chevy 3/4 ton truck. The prior truck utilized a different attachment but was not available for my current 2012 Chevy truck. The TLC220 offers an excellent attachment point that is made out of thick well made steel and covered with a nice black powder coating. The instructions that came with the product should be thrown away. Pictures are poor, verbiage is incomplete and large gaps in the actual application. The saving grace is the video from etrailer. This is a great video. Complete, simple with no gaps and tells you exactly what the difficulties might be. This video even called out the socket sizes. Unfortunately the mate to this; the TLC 3212 rear mounts has a poor video with again gaps in application. And... again the TLC3212 written instructions is just fireplace starter material.

by: Amos06/23/2020

I originally ordered the incorrect rear Torklifts camper hold downs for my truck. However, I called etrailer and explained my error. They not only helped me pick the correct ones, they sent them out that day. I haven’t installed the rear TC hold downs yet. I was most impressed with the free shipping both ways with no questions asked! I was issued an RMA and the refund came quickly. Very good customer service in an age when there often isn’t any service , let alone great service. The front mounts fit perfectly!

by: Richard E07/28/2017

Installed on a Curt 2 1/2 receiver just put on my F350 SD Supercab Diesel SRW 4x4. This bracket does fit this truck with the Curt receiver. I found a little oil on the drill bits and a reamer to remove the last bit of metal from the holes in the receiver helped mount the brackets.

Easy to install. Good quality construction. Great customer care when I ordered the incorrect version - was well handled.

etrailer.com is the best. Great products and great customer service. I purchased these TorkLift custom frame mounted camper tie downs to be installed on my 2017 Chevrolet 3500 HD Duramax single axle short bed. Installation was easy using the great videos provided by etrailer.com.

by: Ken02/10/2020

These tie downs, as well as the TLC3215 set, were easy to install if you have some mechanical ability. They function well with our Lance truck camper and become unobtrusive when you remove the tie down extensions. It's too early to comment on corrosion resistance, but my hope is they hold up well.

by: eddyjames08/24/2016

looks good, easy to install and replaced the torklift tie downs used on factory hitch, now I have a 20,000 lb trailer hitch with 2,700 GTW also. and camper is secure.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I took a long time in writing this review as I wanted to be able to test the product fully. In installing the Tie-Downs, the instructions are pretty vague when it comes to fishing the one bolt through the frame. What is not mentioned is that the position of the large washer that is on the bolt while having to be fitted through the hole makes the difference of getting the bolt through the hole or not. One reviewer said that he had to widen the hole in order to get the bolt through, I too had widened the hole a little, until I realized that it was the washer that was keeping the bolt from going through. The washer needs to be at a 45 degree angle allowing the bolt to be able to gain the extra room against the top of the frame to properly go through the hole. I know this does not sound clear, but what I say will make sense when you are under the truck fishing the bolt through the frame.

That said, after mounting, the Tie-Downs were very secure and all parts looked great. I was worried that the rear passenger side Tie-Down would hit the wide diesel exhaust. It fit perfectly in the space between the exhaust pipe and the frame with no modifications needed, great design and engineering. The Tie-Downs hold my truck camper great, secure and steady. Great product.

The bed mat fit perfectly as well. Exactly what is needed for the truck camper.

by: Welton06/04/2020

I ordered these upon recommendation from a friend. Upon receipt I got three estimates and went to a local body shop. When the owner reviewed the installation booklets, he was impressed by the detailed and thorough explanation and pictures by TorkLift. I do not suggest that one person install these, but it seemed easier with two people. I love that the tie downs can be partially removed during non-use to avoid catching on obstructions to the side of the vehicle. Also, the booklet gave a phone number for technical support in case the installer confronts any problems. The salesperson who helped me at etrailer was very helpful and made sure I ordered the correct items to fit my truck. I have always had good results with etrailer.

by: Matt 03/30/2023

Super easy to install, I recommend using some masking tape on the hitch to mark where you want to install these.

by: Donald02/01/2022

Paula, thank you for helping me out, you are the best!!!!!!!!!

by: Kent03/11/2020

Nicole at etrailer was sharp and the products - 5 stars for her

The Torklift instruction pictures are poor - look like they have been copied 100 times.
Front brackets were fairly straight forward - but had to remove a skid plate and loosen the fuel tank to install the drivers side.
Rear brackets needed to drill holes. T L should provide a drill template.

Haven’t used with the camper yet.

GMC Terrain

These tire downs have held through rough terrain and an accident where the camper was hit from behind. Easy to use for fast on and off of the camper.

by: Curt M.07/17/2019

Both the product and the service are top notch. I ordered the front and rear tie-downs for a 2006 Silverado. The easy to follow instructions made it easy to install the customized tie downs. We have been on the road several times since I installed the tie downs and all the miles I've traveled were with confidence that my camper was secure.

Oh, the other great feature is that they are removable when not in use.

Thank you etrailer!

by: Jon 01/02/2022

After reviewing my options to hold a 3500lb trailer on my truck. I decided these were the only option. They are more expensive then the other options that bolt to the body and the bumper, But much more secure.
The install was fairly easy, Customer service from etrailer was awesome. When not in use they are barely visible. Great product, worth every penny!
Thanks again

1994 Ford Van

TorkLift front anchor design requires fussy installation I could design a more elegant anchor, and have done so for a previous truck; These did not have complete powder coat protection inside the tubes, requiring painting inside tubes to ward off corrosion from inevitable road salt.
Once installed these proved secure and strong, and are superior to HappyJac truck box anchors.

Part of an order I made for camper tie-downs. Great product and it shipped extremely fast!

I always go to e-trailer first when looking for truck towing or other truck accessories. The customer service and speed of shipping really can’t be beat.

by: Mike Shea11/15/2019

Well made. Salesman provided great insight into the why these are so highly rated. Construction is exceptional. Directions on installation are easy, but watch the video first. Support team is excellent. Would I buy this again & recommend these..absolutely. Now that I own these, i'm always looking at other "rigs" & it's apparent the "word is out" on these. I haven't bought the back tie downs yet...but that's coming!

by: John03/21/2023

I’ve owned several truck campers and always use these tue downs. They are the best. Fit is always excellent
