When we installed a Class III hitch on a Ford Flex, we found that the distance between the hitch pin hole and the farthest rearward point of the bumper was right about 3 inches. This dimension on your MKT should be similar. The best option we have for you to install a power inlet inside an existing opening is with the Furrion 30 Amp Power Inlet part # 431861 which requires a 2-1/2" hole. The standard opening size for a power inlet in 2-7/8" so the above is a great option for a smaller opening.
