The types of wiring harnesses used for flat towing a vehicle behind a motorhome and for towing a trailer with the vehicle are different. If the dealer installed a standard trailer towing wiring harness this will not function correctly for flat towing the Wrangler behind the Sprinter. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires going into and coming out of the converter box. If the signals are not correct going in then there is an issue on the vehicle side such as a broken connection, loose wire, or blown turn signal fuse. It sounds like you want to tow 2 trailers and need the wiring for both. It is completely possible to do that as long as your truck can handle the total weight of the two loaded trailers.

This is the first time I have heard of this issue with any Hopkins tow bar wiring harness such as # HM56200 on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Since this harness plugs in line with the tail light wiring there isn't a way that it could have been connected in the wrong spot. It is possible though that there is a bent pin or maybe corrosion that is causing a short to jump to the reverse light on that one side. That is the first thing I would check.
