The "death wobble" sometimes happens when the vehicle is being flat towed. The 2017 Jeep Cherokee is one model where this applies. There is a special wiring harness needed for flat towing. The harness does something with the steering wheel lock and allows the Jeep to track without any sway or "death wobble" that can be potentially dangerous. The harness is designed to address the Jeep issued Service Bulletin which calls for a special wiring harness which keeps the electric power steering energized while the vehicle is being towed. This item is part 68321424AB and it is available only through Jeep.
