  • Putting Stronger Crossbars on Sylvan Sport Go Easy Trailer
  • That is an interesting project you have there, and I called my friend in Yakima to discuss how it could fit. Since Sylvan Sport is not a brand we work with and can test on, we don't have the information to give confirmed fits. I can give my recommendation though based off my experience with kayak trailers. I am curious about how you can fit 4 bikes and two kayaks onto your bars. A close equivalent of the Go Easy Trailer is the Yakima EasyRider # Y08129. The EasyRider uses 78" HD Bars #...

  • Install Photo of the Curt Hitch C13398 On a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
  • The only part of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13398 that will be visible once installed on your 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will be the receiver tube opening. Therefore, the majority of the hitch will actually be hidden. I do have an install photo of this which I have attached for you. This however is the only photo I have for you. If you can let me know what you will be using the trailer hitch for, I would be glad to recommend some other items for you to use with the above.

  • Should the Curt Hitch C13163 for a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Stick Out Past Rear Bumper
  • Sounds like you installed the Curt Hitch part # C13163 correctly on your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. This hitch is supposed to stick out a little bit when installed.

  • Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller TK90160 Installation in 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • The correct vehicle wire to connect to the red input trigger wire on a brake controller like the Primus IQ # TK90160 is the wire at the COLD side of the brake light switch. This means the wire that carries power ONLY when you press the brake pedal on the vehicle and at no other time. Use of a circuit tester like # PTW2993 makes this easier. I checked with my contacts at Tekonsha and on a 2016 Outlander the wire you want is usually brown. I still recommend testing to be sure.

  • Size of Bolts Needed to Install Trailer Hitch in 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander

  • Losing Power from Tailight Circuit Entering the Converter Box on a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • If you are receiving 13.3 volts on the taillight circuit going into the converter box and only 6.6 volts coming out, then this would indeed indicate a bad converter box. It is not uncommon for converter boxes to fail over time as they are after all, just an electrical component. We have found that over the years, Tekonsha brand wiring products tend to have the greatest longevity and fewest problems. The license plate light you installed should not have had an effect on the converter box...

  • Wiring Harness and Installation for 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • Thank you for providing a picture of your 2011 Outlander's tow package connector. If your 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander came with the factory tow package then you have identified the correct trailer wiring harness, Curt # C56102. A similar wiring kit from Tow Ready is part # 118518. Both work on your Outlander. The connector in your photo certainly appears to be the correct mating connector for the harnesses. If you look again at your connector and that on the harnesses you will note that...

  • Removing Cap from Wiring Harness Behind Battery of 2012 Outlander to Install # 118518 Trailer Wiring
  • To remove the protective cap on the wiring connector, there is a release button on the side of the connector. Push and hold the button while pulling off the cap. You might need to use a set of locking pliers to get enough grip on the cap, but make sure not to damage the connector itself. You can see the button I am speaking of in the photo I have edited for you.

  • How Does Trailer Wiring Harness 118518 Install on a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • There are a couple of places that you will plug into when installing trailer wiring harness # 118518 on a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander. The connection in the back is best accessed by removing the panel forward of the jack storage compartment like our installers show in the video I have linked for you to the right. The harness at the front of the vehicle is best accessed by moving the battery out of the way. This is also covered in the video. The panels in the back can also be temporarily...

  • Can Circuit In 3rd Row Of Mitsubishi Outlander 2017 Be Used For 12V Power To Trailer Connector
  • It is never a good idea to use any circuits on a vehicle for the 12V power when installing a trailer wire harness. You can never be sure that something else is also attached tot he circuit and can malfunction at any time. It is better to run the power wire to the vehicle battery positive post. Using a supplemental 12V battery would provide the needed power as well, but it can be a bit cumbersome to carry a 12V battery in the trunk for the trailer connector. And you also run the risk of...

  • Installing Rhino-Rack SRB Leg Onto Vortex Aero Crossbars
  • The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 49" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA126B-2 are absolutely compatible with the Rhino-Rack SRB Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Flush Factory Side Rails - Qty 4 # RRSX031. We do not yet have a video of these legs as they are a newer option. I've linked the page to a similar style connection to assist, and have also attached the installation instruction. It look as though the issue is unlocking the feet and loosening the bracket by turning the...

  • Location of Wiring Harness Power Wire in Engine Compartment of 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • The power wire for your Tow Ready T-One Vehicle 4-Pole Wiring Harness # 118518 should be located behind the driver-side headlamp as you note and as illustrated in the linked video. If you refer to the 1:23 mark in the linked video you'll see where our installers found the vehicle harness after removing the battery from a 2007 Outlander. It is possible that the exact location of this plug will vary. Try moving the other wiring out of the way. You may also have better luck checking from...

  • Running Lights Work But No Tail Lights Working
  • This sounds like a ground issue. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light but can show up any time. Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The light grounds should also be attached to clean...

  • Installation Instructions for Trailer Wiring Harnesses for a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • We don't have a video showing installation of Curt trailer wiring harness # C56296 for the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander but I have linked the installation instructions. It will install basically the same way as # 118277 which we do have a video for and I have linked it. The video is on a 2016 but the install process will be the same for a 2018. Both of these wiring harnesses are for models that came with the factory tow package. The easiest way to determine if your Outlander has the factory...

  • Does the Exhaust of a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT Have to Come Off to Install Trailer Hitch
  • I have a solution for you, but the hitch you referenced is for the Outlander Sport models and would not be correct for your 2015 Outlander GT. The Curt hitch part # C13163 would be the correct fitting hitch. Dropping the exhaust is actually not as difficult as it sounds. It basically involves prying the rubber isolators off of the exhaust hangers and then allowing the exhaust to lower a few inches. It's not as scary as it sounds, I promise. I attached a video that details how to lower...

  • How to Gain Ground Clearance For a Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier on a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • To resolve your ground clearance issue with your cargo carrier, I would recommend getting a cargo carrier with a rise in the shank like the Curt Cargo Carrier, # C18110. I am not aware of a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver that will fit on your 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. One thing to keep in mind when using a hitch adapter to convert a 2 inch shank to a 1-1/4 inch receiver is that the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent. Like you stated, I am...

  • 7-Way 12v Wiring for a Curt Echo on a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • Yes, in order to use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller item # C51180 you were looking at you will need to run the 12v wire to your 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander's battery. You will want to use 10 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue - per Foot item # 10-1-1 and a 40 Amp In-Line Circuit Breaker - Perpendicular Mount Bracket item # 9510.

  • Lowering Exhaust to Install Hitch on 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • All three of the hitches offered for your 2008 Outlander would require that the exhaust be lowered to provide access to the attachment points in the frame. Our installers routinely use a ratchet strap to provide support to the exhaust once it is removed from the exhaust hangers. The purpose of the strap is to control the descent of the exhaust so it does not fall too rapidly and damage something. The exhaust hangers are very easy to remove, simply spray the metal hanger that passes through...

  • Where is the Grey Connector Under the Hood of a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander to Install Trailer Wiring
  • You are going to have remove the battery hold down bracket and carefully move the battery just enough so that you have access to the rear of your headlight assembly. There should be a grey 4-pin harness taped to a harness behind the vehicle headlamp. It will probably be out of plain sight and will require a little bit of exploration of the area to find it but you will eventually find it.

  • Underhood Connection Points for Trailer Wiring on a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander
  • First, locate the vehicle battery under the hood of your 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. It will be on the driver side. You will need to move it rearward as much as possible, or completely remove it from its position, to gain access to the area behind the headlight. Look for the wiring harnesses behind the headlight. Taped to one of them should be a wire with a gray connector on the end that is not connected to anything. It is possible that the harness is further back or has fallen off and...
