Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller TK90160 Installation in 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander

Hi, I am installing Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller in my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, but cannot find the right brake light switch wire to connect to. the vehicle is equipped with LED rear lights.

The correct vehicle wire to connect to the red input trigger wire on a brake controller like the Primus IQ # TK90160 is the wire at the COLD side of the brake light switch. This means the wire that carries power ONLY when you press the brake pedal on the vehicle and at no other time.
Use of a circuit tester like # PTW2993 makes this easier. I checked with my contacts at Tekonsha and on a 2016 Outlander the wire you want is usually brown. I still recommend testing to be sure.
