Does the Exhaust of a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT Have to Come Off to Install Trailer Hitch
Question:
Will the C13079 Curt Trailer hitch fit on a 2015 Outlander GT? Are there other options? Your web site recommends the c13163 curt trailer hitch but it recommends we must first lower the muffler in order to attach it. How can that be done without having it professionally installed?

I have a solution for you, but the hitch you referenced is for the Outlander Sport models and would not be correct for your 2015 Outlander GT.
The Curt hitch part # C13163 would be the correct fitting hitch. Dropping the exhaust is actually not as difficult as it sounds. It basically involves prying the rubber isolators off of the exhaust hangers and then allowing the exhaust to lower a few inches. It's not as scary as it sounds, I promise.
I attached a video that details how to lower exhaust for you to check out as well.
