The Demco # DM9713093 would be delivered partially assembled. The frame, the tongue, ramps and fenders are all sub-assemblies that would need to be installed to the dolly as discussed on page # 25 in the instructions I've linked for you.
The tow dolly features a disc brake system that is superior to electric or hydraulic surge brakes and is the model I most often recommend.
Assembling the dolly requires basic hand tools and is uncomplicated if the instructions are closely followed. Someone... view full answer...
The trailer hitch that is both the most hidden and has the best ground clearance for your 2014 Dodge Journey is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76225. The reason for this is because it has a fully concealed crosstube and installing it requires cutting the fascia, as you can see by the accompanying photo. The way this installs makes the receiver sit up higher compared to other hitches, including the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12134 you referenced.
I definitely recommend the Draw-Tite... view full answer...
On a 2011 Dodge Journey the hitch wiring does not run to the rear of the vehicle, and the vehicles wiring is not designed to handle the draw of the trailer lights when using a T-One wiring harness that will just plug into the vehicles taillights. You will need a wiring harness that will use a powered converter and have a separate power wire that runs directly to the vehicles battery.
The correct wiring harness for the 2011 Dodge Journey with LED lights is the Tow Ready Wiring Harness,... view full answer...
The power wire for trailer wiring harness # 118474 for your 2009 Dodge Journey is 12 gauge wire such as # 12-1-1 sold by the foot. The harness uses a 10 amp fuse. If you also need the fuse holder we have # SWC9539 which takes ATC-ATO fuses. view full answer...
Whether you are talking about the 12 volt power wire from a 4-Way powered converter or the 12 volt circuit from a 4- to 7-Way adapter, such as # 37185, they both connect to the vehicle positive battery terminal.
It sounds like you are talking about the 7-Way so for it you will need a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540, and enough wire, # 12-1-1, to reach from the front of the vehicle to the rear. You would change the number in the quantity box on the wire page to the amount of feet needed.... view full answer...
If there is no metal close to the license plate holder on your Journey, you may need to remove the rear panel on your hatch and find a metal point inside the hatch to attach the ground to.
You may be able to find the license plate light location inside the rear hatch and use the ground for that light as well. If you need to run extended wire from the ground on the backup sensor, part # HM60100VA you can use part # DW02359-1 that can be purchased by the foot. If butt connectors are needed... view full answer...
The Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR requires 12 volt power and the brake light signals to function in the 7-Way in order to work. On the 7-Way you have there should be a black wire which will be for 12 volt power. Using about 25 feet of wire # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot) attach one end to that black wire, route the wire under the vehicle, avoiding areas that can pinch or burn the wire such as suspension and exhaust components, and up into the engine compartment over near the battery.

Installing the wiring harness # 118536 first on your 2014 Dodge Journey could make it easier. This is because you will need to route a connector from the left side of the vehicle to the right side. The hitch could potentially get in the way. Take a look at the video I have linked showing installation of the wiring on a Journey. Notice that the hitch is installed in this video and it wasn't really in the way.
Ultimately I don't think it is going to matter which you install first. You could... view full answer...
Finding the stop light wire to connect to a brake controller can be tricky depending on the vehicle. Especially if there is very little space in which to work. You will start by locating the brake light switch under the dash and above the brake pedal. There should be several wires running to it. I have included a picture that shows what it might look like.
Using a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, test each wire until you find the one that has a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed.... view full answer...
The Weathertech floor mat part # WT40398 that fits your 2016 Dodge Journey and covers the third row seating when folded down is pretty easy to remove and install. It basically just sets in place and weighs around 5 lbs so install and removal would be super easy and quick. view full answer...
The correct engine block heater we offer for a 2012 Dodge Journey with the 3.6L V6 Engine is the Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater part # KH11814. The engine block heater will be installed on the rear right hand side of the engine which you can see in the first attached photo.
I have also attached for you in the second photo the installation instructions for the above block heater which I will admit are pretty generic but this is all that is provided by the manufacturer. The... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Tow Ready and verified that your 2012 Dodge Journey SXT will not have to be reprogrammed if you install the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118536. This wiring harness will use the factory connectors at the back of each tail light assembly to provide signals to the 4-way connector. This wiring harness will only fit the 2012 Dodge Journey and it will not fit the 2009 to 2011 Journeys.
I know some Dodge vehicles will come with a factory trailer connector tucked... view full answer...
The Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater part # KH11812 which is a fit for your 2010 Dodge Journey so long as you have the 2.4L I4 engine will need to be installed on the front, left hand side of the engine which is shown as the "FL" location in the attached photo. view full answer...
To install the Prodigy RF in a vehicle and use the part # ETBC7 is pretty easy as you only have to run the black wire from the 7-way to the positive terminal of the battery. Since you don't necessarily need everything that comes with the # ETBC7 you may be better off just getting the # 37185, some 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), and a circuit breaker # 9510 since that is all you would need. view full answer...
We have not had a vehicle here to allow us to produce an installation video for this particular wiring harness, Curt # C56330, in the 2013 Dodge Journey. However, since this is a plug-in harness its installation will be quite similar to that of many other comparable products from Curt and other brands. Please note that this harness works only with vehicles that have LED-type tail lights. It will not work with vehicles that have incandescent lights.
Installation requires temporary removal... view full answer...
The brake assemblies are specific to the correct side of the trailer, a right hand brake assembly could not be used on the left side of the trailer. The assembly should be mounted so the magnet is at the bottom and the larger of the two brake pads is pointing to the rear of the trailer. I've heard of folks mounting the assembly upside down on the opposite side of the trailer, but the brake assembly will never work correctly if installed that way. view full answer...
If you take a look at page 3 of the instruction manual for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76225, you can see where it states to have the teeth on the conical tooth washer facing the trailer hitch. I have attached a photo of this part for you as well. view full answer...
I did some checking and Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75648 does not indicate that any fascia trimming is required to install it on a 2010 Dodge Journey RT. The hitch is listed as a fit for all models of the 2010 Dodge Journey. We have also not heard any customer complaints about rear fascia trimming on RT or any models.

I had an opportunity to work with a customer to determine the correct wiring for his 2011 Dodge Journey Mainstreet. Here are the connections we made to get his trailer wiring harness, # C59496, working correctly. You should test each wire on the vehicle, with the included circuit tester, before making the connection to verify that you are connecting to the correct circuit for that wires function.
