I checked with Thule, and on the Thule Replacement Aluminum Shank Adapter - 1-1/4 inches to 2 inch, # 853-7292, it will not work on the Thule Hitching Post 985. The adapter has a threaded hole that lines up on the newer racks (TH912, TH914, TH954) and a screw is threaded in to hold it to the bike rack. Also the hole for the hitch pin does not line up. You can put a pair of Snow Tire Chains on just the front wheels of your 2011 Lexus RX 450H AWD. We normally recommend to put the chains on the drive axle but since you have AWD you can put them on the front. It wouldn't hurt to add them to the back tires as well but it's not required.
