The 2018 Land Rover Discover has an integrated air system that is designed for trailer stability so they recommend not using the Weight Distribution hitches because their integrated system is designed to help with vehicle sag.

Due to the trailer and boat configuration, you really only have one good option for carrying your 2 bikes and that is to utilize your Land Rover Discovery's roof rack. The trailer will not allow for a bike rack based on it's design and a trunk mounted bike rack with the rise required at your hitch won't allow for enough room.

I recommend trying to find a bike rack with a long enough shank to clear your spare tire. To find out how much clearance you need, take a tape measure and find the distance from the center of the pin hole on your hitch to a point past your spare tire. The great thing about weight distribution systems is that the weight of them does not get considered as additional tongue weight. Our manufacturers have fielded this question from us several times and their stance is that the WD system essentially becomes part of the hitch so you would not consider it's weight as additional tongue weight.

According to my research, the 1997 Land Rover Discovery has separate turn and brake lights so the the best option we have for you to install a 4-way is with the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter part # 119178KIT. This is a common issue, and you'll simply need an adapter to plug into your Land Rover's 7-way so that it recognizes the low voltage of your trailer's LED lights. There is no adapter to go from a European 7-Way to a US style 6-Way. You will either have to convert the connector on the vehicle or the one on the trailer. It all depends on what works best for you.
If you only tow the one trailer then converting the vehicle makes more sense. But if you tow other trailers that need the European 7-Way then converting the trailer makes more sense.
