Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer with 600 lb Tongue Weight
Question:
TV is a new D5 with trailer packages. 770 max hitch, 7,770 lbs max trailer. Trailer is a 24ws with tongue 600 lbs. 5,108 UVM, and 6,600 gross, I would like to go with the lightest weight WDH, but one that is will work at moving at least 200 lbs to the steering axle. Concerned that a wdh with 100 lbs of weight will put me over the 771 limit. Is there a WDH that you would highly recommend that happens to be also relatively light weight? thanks

The great thing about weight distribution systems is that the weight of them does not get considered as additional tongue weight. Our manufacturers have fielded this question from us several times and their stance is that the WD system essentially becomes part of the hitch so you would not consider it's weight as additional tongue weight.
We have the Reese system part # RP66541 which weighs 74 lbs and has a tongue weight range of 400 to 800 lbs like what would work well on your trailer.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
