The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 and Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller w/ Bluetooth # TK94FR are going to be your easiest brake controllers to install on your 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE. Since it sounds like you already have a functioning 7-way these will plug in line of your Discovery and your trailer. These brake controllers allow you to plug them in between your Discovery and the trailer without having to add any wiring or controllers inside your cab. They receive their power from the charge line circuit on your Discovery's 7-way.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy RF # TK94FR as the better of the two. It comes with its own remote control to be able to adjust and operate the trailer brakes. This will require a 12 volt outlet for the wireless controller.
The Curt Echo # C51180 requires you to download the Curt Echo App to your smartphone and sync it with the device. So if someone else is driving the vehicle and trailer they will also need to have the app and sync to their phone to be able to make adjustments.
