Will a Trailer Hitch Affect the Install of a Brake Controller on a 2018 Land Rover Discovery HSE
Question:
I have a 28foot Coachman travel trailer I currently tow with my Ford Expedition. Im considering buying a 2018 Land Rover Discovery HSE Luxury and it does not have a factory installed trailer hitch. The Land Rover Service Dept said they can install the hitch but not a brake controller. Not sure I understand that but thats what they say. It appears the brake controller can be installed separately from the hitch at a later date. Is there anything I need to be aware of when I have the hitch installed that will eventually simplify the installation of the brake assist controller. Sorry for the possible dumb question but I know absolutely nothing about this. Id hate to have the hitch installed and then find out there are going to be complications with the brake assist controller installation. Thanks in advance.

The installation of a trailer hitch on the 2018 Land Rover Discovery HSE will not have any impact on the installation of a brake controller so no worries there!
I would recommend an aftermarket hitch but there does not appear to be one for that vehicle, which seems odd. If it turns out that they cannot install an in cab brake controller we do have the new Autowbrake # 3430001 which installs just on the trailer and only needs a functioning 7-Way trailer connector to operate. I have linked a review video of it for you.
