  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes That Stop Working When It Rains
  • I'll start this off by saying that I don't think the issue has anything to do with the breakaway switch or junction box, It sounds to me like the rain is causing a short on your wiring and this is what is causing your brakes to go out; since you just had new leaf springs put on the 5th wheel trailer it's possible that something was damaged during the repair process. I would first examine the ground wire connection on your trailer-just because that's an extremely common cause of shorts...

  • Troubleshooting New Self Adjusting Trailer Brakes that Are Performing Weakly
  • It wouldn't hurt to do a manual adjustment of the # K23-478-479 that you just installed, but normally the initial break in process you did gets it tight enough. Another way to speed up the process is to travel at a slower speed like you were doing and repeatedly slide the manual override lever. With every application it should adjust one click tighter. Let me know if you are still having weak brakes and I'll see what we can do beyond that as well!

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Only Right Turn/Stop Signal isn't Working
  • Sounds like an issue on the tow vehicle since the light activates like it should with the brake lights. That means the trailer wiring is correct but the signal is just not present on the tow vehicle like it needs to be. It almost has to be a fuse on the vehicle too since the corresponding brake light circuit is also activating like it should so that would be what I would check first. I attached a help article with more troubleshooting info on trailer wiring for you to check out as well.

  • Troubleshooting A Curt BetterWeigh That Isnt Providing Targets For Weight Distribution Hitch Setup
  • I spoke with Curt and was told to not even bother using the weigh distribution setup application of the BetterWeigh Mobile Tongue Weight and Payload Scale for OBD II # C51701 since it's not usually the most accurate and to just follow the instructions for the weight distribution hitch instead. That's obviously not the kind of support I would hope for from the manufacturer so I recommend recalibrating your system to see if that gives you new target bars in-app. If not, then you would need...

  • Troubleshooting a Curt Echo Brake Controller That Has Choppy Braking
  • This can be caused by a couple different things. The Controller # C51180 have a loose connection in the vehicle's 7 Way plug. They can start to back out from said plug causing intermittent connection. If the controller can be pushed in and then pulled out a little after the 7 Way door comes down to hold the controller in place, a shim may be needed to keep the controller fully seated. I spoke to Curt and they said if the controller is seated properly in the 7 Way on the vehicle, it is...

  • Troubleshooting Solera Smart Arm Power Issues
  • It sounds like you either have a lose connection or a just a bad controller. I would start by ensuring your wires are making full contact in the controller and the motor and that you don't have any cuts or damage in the wires along the way that could be causing a short. Check to see if there's power at the motor while pressing the extend or retract buttons to narrow down the issue to the controller or wiring between the motor and the controller. You'll need a minimum of 11.5v for the system...

  • Jack Error Code When Leveling Lippert Ground Control
  • It sounds like you just need to reset the zero point. In order to do this you will need to follow the steps I have attached for you below and in the photo. If this does not fix your issue then please just let me know and I will see if we have any other actions for you to preform. 1. Manually run the jacks to level the unit. This is best achieved by placing a level in the center of the unit and leveling it both front to back and then side to side. 2. Once the unit is level, turn off the...

  • Troubleshooting A MaxxFan Plus That Isn't Responding To The Remote Or Buttons
  • If your remote isn't working and the controls on the unit aren't responding either then you most likely need to replace the circuit board. For a # MA00-04000K you would need part # MA10A21276K. If you have a different model then let me know and I'd be happy to look for the correct replacement.

  • Troubleshooting A Furrion Vision S RV Camera System That Isnt Allowing View All Mode
  • The Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ Side Marker Light Cameras # FCE48TASL-05 can either be powered by the running lights (which is why you have to physically turn yours on) or off of the reverse lights, which means it would only power on when you put your vehicle in reverse. The way your camera system has been wired in is the most popular installation method as it will allow you to activate your cameras at any time. As for the screen not viewing all camera views,...

  • Troubleshooting a Communication Error on the Lippert Ground Control Touch Pad
  • When your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590 has a reading that says "Comm Error" it is referring to the communication between the controller and touch pad. You will need to check your harness to ensure it is connected properly and there is no damage; if it is damaged and cannot be repaired then the harness would need to be replaced.

  • How Much Voltage is Applied to Each Brake Magnet at Full Braking Power
  • Assuming you applied the manual override on a brake controller while set to the highest setting and moving down the road then the controller would send a full 12 volts to the brakes but there may be a slight drop in voltage by the time it gets to each magnet. I hope this helps.

  • Should Trailer Tires Run with 10 Less psi During the Summer
  • There are 2 common misconceptions about trailer tires that can definitely lead to blow outs. The first is to fill the tires to the psi listing on the trailer instead of on the sidewall of the tire, and the second is to reduce or increase the air pressure. Both of these are incorrect and can/will lead to tire failure. When filling up your trailer tires you want to make sure they are cold (after the trailer has been sitting overnight) and then fill them to the psi rating on the sidewall....

  • Troubleshooting SH Error Code On Trailer Brake Controller Connected To a 2011 Keystone 5TH Wheel
  • The wiring for the Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA enter through the back of the brake assemblies for the magnet. To get to the magnet you will need to remove the hub but you can perform your tests on the back side where the wiring connects to the brakes. Your wiring should all connect in a Junction Box # 38656. This is also a great point to check the wiring before it heads back to the axle to determine if the issue is with either the trailer connector or connection on your tow vehicle. With...

  • Troubleshooting No Propane Coming From Quick Connect on 2013 Keystone Sprinter 252FWRLS
  • The quick connect is designed to have propane come out and is fed from the main propane tanks on your 2014 Keystone Sprinter. Check for a small lever on the side of the connection that needs to be flipped down so it is in-line to allow the propane to flow. If you already did this, it could be that you hooked up an appliance that has its own regulator. The propane is already flowing through the regulator on your 5th wheel, so if it is double regulated you won't have enough pressure to...

  • Troubleshooting a Furrion Tankless Water That Has Low Pressure At The Shower Head
  • I went ahead and consulted the owner's manual for your Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot # FR68SR, and this symptom is correlating with there could be lime scale forming due to precipitation of hard water. To fix this, Furrion recommends that you decalcify your water heater. You're also going to want to ensure that your water heater is producing the minimum water flow of 0.32 gallons per minute. If it's not, what you can try and do is if your unit is equipped with...

  • Can I Just Use 1 Latch to Secure MORryde StepAbove RV Steps Inside Camper
  • The MORryde StepAbove RV Steps, like part # MR58RR, actually have an adjustment you can make on the latch that I recommend looking at before you start cutting into anything (see attached). If you aren't able to adjust the latch so that you can properly close your screen door I recommend modifying the door as opposed to removing the latch as the steps are designed to use both right and left latches to secure the stairs during travel.

  • Troubleshooting New Electric Trailer Brakes Working Intermittently
  • It is true that either wire on electric brakes, like part # 23-464-465, can be used for the power or ground. If you didn't change anything aside from the brakes and everything worked properly before then the only thing that comes to mind is that you have some damaged wiring somewhere on the brake circuit. If some wiring is bent then it could be disconnecting and then reconnecting at random times which is why your braking isn't consistent. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to...

  • Troubleshooting MaxxFan Roof Vent Suddenly Not Working
  • If your MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan like the part # MA00A04301K that you were looking at suddenly stopped working I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to see if power is getting to the fan. Depending on how the fan was installed, it may be attached to a circuit breaker that you can check but most likely it was wired directly to 12V power. If you test the wiring and see that power is getting all the way to the switch, you may simply need to replace the switch. If you can tell...

  • Power Watchdog Surge Protector Is Showing E6 Error Code After Several Hours Of Use - What Can I Do?
  • One would think that with the E6 error code on the Power Watchdog # HU87FR, the code would pop virtually right away, and not after being hooked up for several hours. Generally the E6 code is a sign that something is wrong with the plug you are using, and not the watchdog unit. It is possible that something is wrong with the watchdog unit itself. The best way to be sure is to plug the unit in to a different power source and see if you get the same E6 error code. If you continue to get the...

  • How is Control Panel of Lippert Ground Control System Reset
  • To reset the control panel of a Lippert Ground Control system unplug the control panel # LC421484 for several seconds and then plug it back in. We've seen just doing that alone fix most of the problems with the control panels. If that does not fix the error code let me know.
