  • Can the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar be Locked
  • I went out to the warehouse and pulled a HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar # HE4016 to see if a lock would fit anywhere on it. There is no place for a lock to go on it or any of the other similar products we carry. If there was a hole that went behind the stop that keeps the handle in place, through the handle, then you could easily put a lock on it. But they did not put a hole there. I made a video showing the product and the area I mentioned where a lock could go if there was a hole.

  • How To Verify Tekonsha Voyager 39510 Is Working Properly.
  • To check if the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller # 39510 is working correct after being installed in your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic you will want to have a friend hit the manual override lever while you use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the 5 o'clock pin on your 7-way connector. The only part this will not test is that the stop light switch wire is working correctly, as if you hit the brake pedal with the vehicle not moving the 7-way connector will not...

  • Estimated Installation Time for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch on 2007 Chevy Silverado
  • I spoke with my contact at B&W regarding the Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1067 for your 2007 Chevy Silverado. He said that a driveway DIYer like yourself can expect an installation time of about 2-3 hours. All of the needed hardware and frame brackets are included with this kit. Because the brackets are custom-fit for your truck, you won't need to drill into the frame to install them. I have attached an installation video on the 2008 Silverado that you can use for reference,...

  • Can I Weld a Bolt On Coupler and Still Use the Bolts?
  • Yes. You can weld the Demco Trailer Coupler # DM12141-81 on to your trailer in addition to the bolts or in place of them. It is recommended that any welding be done by a certified welder so as not to compromise the integrity of the coupler during the process. At the end of the day, you don't need to secure it via the bolts in addition to the weld-but it's not going to damage it by using both.

  • Installation Instructions for Reese Dual Cam Weight Distribution System
  • Set-up of a Reese dual cam weight distribution system like # RP66083 is shown in the linked video. The complete written instructions are also linked for you. It is important to know your trailer's fully-loaded road-ready tongue weight (TW) when selecting a system. The spring bars need to be selected based on the actual weight load on them, which consists of the trailer's TW plus the weight of anything in the truck bed that sits behind the rear axle, such as a cooler or generator. You total...

  • Wiring Diagram for Deka 95-amp Battery Isolator # DW08770
  • The Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 is not vehicle-specific; it will work fine on your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado to protect the truck battery from excessive discharge and to regulate current in a multi-battery system. If your Silverado has a CS alternator you will use installation kit # DW08768. If it has the standard alternator use kit # DW08769. You can tell if you have the CS130 alternator by checking for its external fan with serpentine belt pulley. I have linked a wiring diagram for...

  • How to Determine the Correct Trailer Ball Mount and Measuring For Rise and/or Drop
  • Most light duty trailers have a 17 inch coupler height, give or take an inch. Using the ballmount help page you were looking at, measure your hitch height on your truck and select a ball mount with the proper rise or drop to get you to 17 inches. The hitch on my Escape is 19 inches from the ground to the inside top edge of the hitch. So to get to 17 inches I would use a 2 inch drop ball mount like part # C45010 or part # C74WR or even the # WSFH2-2 with a built-in scale. I have included...

  • Determining Location of Hole in Fascia to Install Curt Front Mounted Receiver Part # 31302
  • For a through-fascia installation, the instructions state that the top of the 3 inch square hole would fall 3-1/2 inches below the top edge of the plastic fascia. Before cutting, I would strongly recommend you confirm these measurements for yourself. Install the frame brackets, then slip the hitch cross member behind the fascia. Because the fascia will be in the way, you will not be able to slide the cross member all the way forward, but if you can hold the cross member at the correct...

  • Mounting Location for Flex-a-lite Transmission Cooler on Chevy Silverado
  • The ideal position for a transmission cooler like the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503 referenced in your question is between the vehicle's grille and AC condenser core, as this allows for the most airflow. With that being said, if you do not have the needed space available in this position, it can certainly be mounted in front of the radiator, behind the condenser. This tube-fin cooler and fan kit will provide additional cooling to protect your tranmission and improve its performance....
