The Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller, part # C24VV, and the matching harness for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic, part # C51352, will work with your vehicle as long as your 7-way connector on your rear bumper is not the type that includes LED test lights. Such 7-way connectors are not compatible with the Curt TriFlex.

It is critical that before installing the controller the negative battery terminal be disconnected to avoid potential damage to the unit. Also, the trailer must be disconnected from the tow vehicle before installing and testing the TriFlex.

A blank display can indicate a bad ground connection, or no power to the unit. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm if 12V power is reaching the brake controller. The black wire leading into the controller carries the input power from the vehicle. You should detect 12Vpower on the black wire. If there is power going into the controller but it shows nothing at all on the display, then the unit may be damaged. You can also use a circuit tester to verify that power is present at the OEM connector. (This will tell you if the problem is in the harness.) You should be able to get a continuous 12V power reading on one pin/slot, a reading on a second pin/slot only when the brake pedal is pressed (this is the signal from the brake light switch). At least two other pins should have no power present. You might refer to the linked troubleshooting article.

If no 12V power is reaching the harness or controller you may need to install a missing fuse required for the 12V circuit. Check the power distribution block in the engine compartment for any fuse or relay locations that could be missing a fuse/relay. The installation instructions for the controller are included for reference.
