Can I Weld a Bolt On Coupler and Still Use the Bolts?

Question:

Bulldog Brand of this same style coupler has holes for bolts but also says weld on. Can all these be welded and bolted simultaneously or either or?

Yes. You can weld the Demco Trailer Coupler # DM12141-81 on to your trailer in addition to the bolts or in place of them. It is recommended that any welding be done by a certified welder so as not to compromise the integrity of the coupler during the process. At the end of the day, you don't need to secure it via the bolts in addition to the weld-but it's not going to damage it by using both.
