Having trouble with the auto-lift tailgate function on newer vehicles after a trailer hitch is installed isn't an uncommon occurrence. With the etrailer # e88KR installed on your 2019 Audi Q7 try kicking to the left and right of the receiver in a back-and-forth motion (like kicking a soccer ball) and this should activate the tailgate. The adverse side effect of this however is that there also isn't any easy trailer connector mounting bracket solution because of the hidden design. Does your trailer have brakes? If it does, you'll need a brake controller to actuate them.
You'll first need a functional 4 pole which would be provided by installing part # 119250KIT. I've linked you to an install video showing how this is done.

The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 receives power from the pin in the one o'clock position, not the center pin (see photo). The center pin for reverse lights and the one o'clock pin for the 12 volt power can be found wired either way but in order for the Curt Echo to work it needs to be the former way.
