7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller for 2017 Audi Q7

Question:

Hi. I own a 2017 Audi Q7 V6. I have installed a Draw tite trailer hitch that I use for bike racks but want to find out how to install the necessary wiring to tow an RV or camper with a 7 way connector. There seem to be only 4 pin flat connectors available on your website for my care. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks!

Does your trailer have brakes? If it does, you'll need a brake controller to actuate them.

You'll first need a functional 4 pole which would be provided by installing part # 119250KIT. I've linked you to an install video showing how this is done.

If your trailer doesn't have brakes, the only other thing you'd need is the # 37185 adapter. Plug the adapter into the 4-pole, ground the white wire to the vehicle frame, and you'll be good to go.

If you need a brake controller, I'd recommend the Curt Echo, part # C51180. The Echo would communicate wirelessly with your smart phone, which would be used as the control unit for the brake controller. To install the controller, you'd need the # ETBC7L kit, which includes the # 37185 adapter mentioned above. You'd still plug the adapter into the 4 pole, ground the white wire and also run a wire to the positive battery terminal. Once that wire is run, the controller will be a plug and play install.

I've also linked to a product demonstration video for the Echo Brake Controller and the install kit.
