Using Trailer Wiring Tester to Sync and Setup Prodigy RF Brake Controller
Question:
I tried installing the Prodigy RF to my 2018 audi Q7 - got to the step where you push on the brakes and the handheld unit does not register nor go to 0.0. I bought the 7 Way Trailer Connector Vehicle Tester # C73NR at your suggestion I have a factory installed 7 pin connector but there are no instructions regarding how to use the unit to sync the hand held controller to the RF box. Can you help?

When pairing the Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller # TK94FR we have heard of this issue a few times and it doesn't have to do with the vehicle at all.
I reached out to my tech contact at the manufacturer and he said that they are rewriting the instructions because it is confusing and the double zero won't appear until it is paired, which doesn't happen when it is new or even sometimes when it is transferred to another vehicle. So, here is a step by step to get you going based on the tech's advice.
Connect your trailer or your tester # C73NR and then roll the blue dial on the right side of your remote all the way down (toward the cord). Next, push and hold both the blue button and gray override button simultaneously and watch the count down from P5 to PA. Then release the two buttons and step on the brake pedal and hold until the 00 appears.
Let me know if you need further help.
