Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com today, we'll be taking a look at the OptiBrightt LED work light. This is going to be a handy item to have on your work truck, your ATV, UTV, or really anywhere that you need a little extra light, especially if you're going to be working at night or in low light situations in general. This is going to be a very heavy duty light. It's going to have an impact resistant lens and also a nice aluminum housing. So it's going to be resistant to rust and corrosion.
You can see those nice deep fins on the back. So it's going to help to dissipate any heat buildup. So it's going to make our LEDs last, that much longer. This is also IP 69K rated. And basically that means that it's up to the....
It's going to be up to stuff for being outside all the time, any rain or wind or sleet or anything it's not going to get in there.And also if you want to wash down your vehicle with a power washer or anything like that, it's not going to have any ingress of water or dust. So that IP 69 rating just means that it's been tested with high pressure, high temperature sprayers for at least three minutes in different directions and angles. So it's all sealed up nice and tight, and yoou shouldn't have anything to worry about there.This is an LED light as well. So we're not going to have to worry about changing out any bulbs, ever. There's no maintenance with this since there's no filaments that can burst on us or break apart.
So there you don't have to change out any bulbs. It's also going to be more energy efficient than our typical incandescent bulbs and lasts about 50 times longer than your typical incandescent. So a nice, rugged, long lasting light for us in. Just about any situation.I'm going to turn on my power source here. We can see how bright this light is.
So turn on pretty bright and see it's a nice spot beam. So it's going to be a really focused light and that'll work well for just spotting in the dark. I'm going to turn my lights in the studio out so you get a better idea of how bright that is. I'm going to pull this away from my table so you can see it's kind of a trapezoid shape once you get pulled away from it. So the effective lumen output for this is going to be 900 lumens, with a raw lumen output of 1800. Really that effective lumen is going to be what you want to go off of since that's more a realistic number of what it actually will do for you.But definitely a nice bright light, will have nine diodes total, and should last for a long time. As far as the power that this can work with, it's compatible with 12 volt DC and 24 volt DC systems. So it's pretty typical for any automotive application. As far as the size, give you some measurements here, it's about four and a half inches tall by about five inches wide and about roughly two and a half inches deep. If we include the stand in there it's about an inch and a half from the bottom of that stands the top of this housing. So that would put us at just about six inches tall overall.Does come with the hardware to mount this, it's just a little U bracket and a bolt and nut and washer going through the base there. So you can adjust the angle on that light and then you'll have a carriage bolt, a split washer, and a lock nut to mount this in place. I would suggest putting this carriage bolt in that little bracket before you put it on the light, just because there's not a lot of clearance there and you probably won't be able to get that bolt in place once that brackets on there. So just a little words of the wise.As far as the diameter of that bolt, it's just about three eighths of an inch maybe, just over a quarter inch in diameter, just to let you know how big a hole you would need to drill out or a hole that this would fit through. The head of the bolt. that's a carriage bolt so it's going to be capturbed by that L bracket so it shouldn't matter too much for you. But as far as the outside dimension here of our mounting hardware, it's about two and a quarter inch. And then the wire coming off of our light is just about 11 inches long.The power draw at 12.8 volts is 1.5 amps. And at 24 volts it's going to be 0.73 amps. There is a lifetime warranty on those LEDs. And that just about does it for our look at the OptiBright LED work light. Works great.
Appears to be a well made outdoor quality light fixture with good quality mounting/attaching hardware thoughtfully included by the manufacturer. Rated for both 12 and 24 volt applications. Flood beam provides good general work area lighting with low current draw. We plan to use them predominantly for quick and easy portable indoor lighting during power failures.
Excellent replacement light for my trailer. Had to upgrade lights on my 16 year old horse trailer. Chose LED and am greatly pleased with this light. Has stood the test of time.
RECEIVED THE PRODUCT WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME STATED AND THEY ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.
I installed these on the back of my boat trailer and hooked them up to my reverse lights for launching my boat in the dark. I wanted an extremely bright flood so I could see both sides and the down the center. Just wonderfully bright and dependable a year later as when new.

I replaced a halogen external light fixture on my horse trailer with this model LED light fixture several months ago. It is brighter, instant on and lower energy usage which are all positives especially for the battery when the trailer is disconnected. I ordered 2 more to replace the other external halogen light fixtures on my horse trailer. Good lighting is especially important when you need to access your trailer with your horse after sundown. Also easy to install.
Very well built light. Easy to install and lights up a large area. I would buy again and recommend it.
I already owned this particular brand of LED light so I pretty much knew what I was getting. In my usage they have been better than average. No problems to speak of. I use them on all of our trucks.
Easy installation , we replaced three lights on our bloomer horse trailer . These are much much brighter than the old lights very nice product so far ! Thank you

I bought the earlier version of this light several years ago to replace an incandescent work light on our horse trailer. It worked brilliantly until I pressure washed it. (Note to self: Don't pressure wash the work light!) I purchased the Opti-Brite LED Work light to replace the one I drowned. This one also works brilliantly! It has an improved mount as well as being even easier to install. I highly recommend it!
I ordered two of these for headlights on a 36 volt electric golf cart. These things are brighter than a lot of car headlights and have great range. If i ever need anymore for back up lights or work lights on my truck i will be ordering these. I have been using them for over a year and they still work great. I have been ordering from etrailer for about 5 years now and let me tell you there is no better company or staff to deal with.
I've been using this light on the back of my enclosed trailer. I just couldn't see behind me at night. This light is amazing for lighting up behind the trailer, all from one light. Definitely recommend!

Good product, very bright with low amperage. Bought these for my horse trailer to replace my prep area and ramp load area lights.
Install is easy but on horse trailers where just the thin steel sheet is used, the square backing of the bolt protrudes through the bracket and won't tighten fully, leaving some wobble and play that is not acceptable for horse trailer exterior. a thick lag bolt washer did the trick.
Also, for an 'area' light, this is not the most ideal. it's extremely bright but a tighter beam than i would have liked. Meaning, mounted 8 feet off the ground, there is a very tight 5 feet long by 2 or 3 feet wide strip of really bright, around the saddle on our horse. i was expecting something like a 7 x 5 or more given the shape of the light. picked based on lumens, but beam angle was not presented. would be good info.
Overall 4 stars, really just because of the narrow beam.

I purchased the lights to replace the headlights on our forklift because I was tired of replacing bulbs every couple of weeks, but once they were on we realized how much better the LED lights are. They light up the whole area in front of the lift and no more replacing bulbs. Great product at a great price.

Could be a tad brighter, but have it on a remote switch on the back of my cargo trailer from my truck and aids in backup and lighting when loading my trailer at night. Great product!
The best light to use when it's dark! I used these lights on my off-road camping trailer and they work! It was dark at night and this can be a real problem, so I installed these lights and I could see at night. Super great price for an inexpensive solution. The mounts are real simple with a nut and bolt for the up and down and a carriage bolt and nut for mounting. Easy!
I have used both the aluminum model and the plastic housing models on our work trailers . I prefer the plastic housing light due to the rough roads. The lighter weigh light causes less stress on the mounting points. Good product and etrailer is good on communicating with customers.
