Video Transcript for Andersen Tuff Wheel Chock Review

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Andersen wheel chock. These are sold individually but when you go to chock your trailer's tires not a bad idea to do one on each side of it. When it comes to wheel chocks, you know, really simple concept, stop your trailer from rolling around and there's a ton of 'em out there. One of the things that I noticed that was a little bit different with these is the ramp I guess you could call it isn't as aggressive or high as a lot of the other ones but they still do a good job of getting up behind the tire there and stopping things from rolling. These are made from plastic, super thick, they feel really well built.

So no complaints there, at least to my opinion. But more specifically, these are really designed to work in conjunction with the Rapid Jack which is this piece here. So if we have this definitely recommend using it with these. So the way this works, say if you we're to get a flat or something on your tandem axle trailer, instead of dealing with a regular jack, you could always use this. So, which how this would work is put it behind the tire and when you we're to back the trailer up, you know, this wheel would force into here and do this and it would raise this axle up off the ground or this wheel allowing this axle to come up with it, okay.

And then you could do your service or whatever. So when this wheel's sitting on this there's gonna be this gap down here and these chocks are angled perfectly to work in conjunction with this. Giving this end of it, a lot more support, in my opinion kind of a no-brainer to use that in conjunction with it feel like it'd be a lot more stable and a lot more safe. Aside from that though, you know, you can definitely use this as just a wheel chock, you know, even if you don't have the Rapid Jack, personally, I kind of like the lower profile design, super lightweight, you know, a lot more manageable than just using your old classic block of wood. But with that said, being low profile a little more you know, it's gonna hold the wheel good.

Now, if I had a big camper or something with a lot bigger tires or super heavy trailer, I might opt for a different style. One that is a little bit bigger. That's just me though. So that's just something to keep in mind there. Honestly, I do think the super thick plastic does have an advantage over rubber ones.

You know, this isn't gonna deteriorate and fall apart and break apart like rubber ones do after they sit out for a long time, especially if your trailer's in storage a lot and the sun's beating on it and everything else. So, you know, just my opinion and should do a pretty good job keeping your trailer steady. Other than that, at the end of the day not really a whole lot to it, you know, definitely recommend using this in conjunction with your Rapid Jack or if not, will work just as your standard wheel chock. But that'll finish up our look at of the Andersen Tuff wheel chock.

Plastic wheel chocks, are what you would expect them to be.

Stopped using these and switched to X style metal chocks. Work O.K. on level ground although unlikely trailer would roll over the 3” high chock. When you use the auto leveling jacks on uneven ground, next thing you know chock is away from tire. When you slide chock tight you need to remember to remove before lowering jack’s otherwise it will end up under the tire and you have to drive over them to get it out anyway. O.K. if your parking somewhere temporarily, not useful if you are actually setting up trailer.

by:

It looks to be just like the original one have not used but I’m sure it’s excellent

by:

Replacement for lost chock. Andersen leveler/chock are a must for all RVers.

It is a must. Makes leveling on uneven ground a breeze.

by:

Worked well for my boat trailer which I sometimes park on an incline.

by:

I only give average because of long wait to get them. The product is just what I wanted, just don't think it should take 10 days to ship something 150 miles.I will look for another place to do my business.

by:

I needed one of these for my Andersen levelers that I lost for my RV

by:

Your levelers for our trailer make it beyond easy to use. Simple idea that has been developed using a strong but lightweight material. Using this product eliminates that dreaded leveling we used to experience. We are 100% satisfied and relieved that we now carry them

Super, We are no longer at wits end to level. We have recommended these to everyone. We cracked one and our replacement came in no time. Thanks

You mentioned that it does not fit your wheels well. This chock is meant to be used with the Andersen rapid jack part # AM3620. I recommend using a set of chocks for the wheel like part # CE32600 or part # 288-02011-2. They would better fit your wheels.

Sold my trailer & chocks went with it. Would not revive because I have different chocks now-the square are yellow ones

by:

Nothing actually wrong with the unit or the service, but it does not work on my trailer. I used it as described and shown in online videos, but it does not lift my second axle high enough and I needed to use a jack in addition to this.

by:

Smooth transaction. Timely delivery and obvious care taken by etrailer with packing even though it was a small purchase. Will definitely deal with etrailer again.

Purchased with the Rapid Jack and they both work perfectly. Easiest levelingwheel chocking ever.

by:

Nice product should be used on solid surface to minimize breaking the webb reinforcement on the under sides

This is an excellent product a great design

by:

I bought the Anderson Quick Jack 3620 and quickly realized that I needed the companion chock to go with it for it to operate properly. Chock arrived exactly on time and is exactly what I needed.

Working great.

by:

Great communication from order to delivery. Competitive prices.

by:

Works just as advertised. We used it with our travel trailer in the summer of 2015 and will continue this year too. My only discrepancy and it's on me, is that my dual wheels are so close together, I can not get the chock between them for a little extra support. Other wise they work great!

by:

Prompt delivery, item is exactly what I needed. This chock will work in conjunction with the Rapid Jack that I purchased a while back, enabling me to block the boat trailer up in a stable manner in case I have to leave it to get repair parts. I don't have room to carry a conventional jack that would be able to get under my boat trailer frame, so this was the ideal resolution to that problem.

I have ordered may items from etrailer.com, and am consistently pleased with the service and results. They are my 'go to' location for any items I need that are trailer-related.

by:

Bought these to simplify leveling the travel trailer. Worked OK but even with the 'traction' pad, they slid on loose gravel. I have a dual axle TT so I had to cut the nose off one to get it to fit between the tires when starting up the ramp. Not bad

by:

Still working good. No problems.

by:

Well, haven't actually had to use it yet, but like what I see, and could follow the instructions for getting it ready to use with no problem (had to cut off part of the camper leveler to fit between my trailer tires).

Hey--where's the feedback for your service and web page? BTW--really easy web page to use. And your CS agent, Karen, may be one of the best I've ever worked with--superb!!!!! Thanks for good service and rapid response.

by:

Using the Andersen Rapid Jack and the Wheel chock for the first time on my Haulmark trailer with dual axles. Very easy and quick to get the rear axle tire off the ground and the tire off. I put the wheel chock under the rapid jack for stability. I didn't have to get the scissor jack out of the truck.
Great product.

  • Can Andersen Rapid Jack Wheel Chock Be Used on Tandem Axle Trailers
The Andersen Wheel Chocks you mentioned of part # AM3604 and # AM3620 with # 3605 are essentially the same things but different heights. The # AM3604 provides a lift of up to 4 inches and the part # AM3620 provides up to 6-7/8 inches of lift. Running one size on the front wheel and another on the back would not be ideal as it would raise the wheels at different heights. You'd want to use the same size on both the front and back wheel.

  • Recommended Wheel Chocks To Go With An Andersen Rapid Jack
The Fastway ONEstep Wheel Chocks for Tandem-Axle Trailers and RVs - 16" to 24" Long - Qty 2 Item # FA84-00-4840 has an adjustable length so you could use them on top of a block but the wheels would need to be level with each other for the # FA84-00-4840 to get a proper fit against the tires. Since you would only be able to use the Andersen Rapid Jack Item # AM3620 on one tire they would sit unevenly from each other and the # FA84-00-4840 wouldn't have good contact with the tires. You'd...

  • Comparing the Anderson Camper Levelers AM3620 and AM3604 for Use on a Chrysler Town and Country
The Andersen Rapid Jack # AM3620 and the Andersen Camper Wheel Chock and Leveler # AM3604 are pretty similar with the main difference being that part # AM3604 will provide between 1/2" to 4" of height but part # AM3620 will provide 6-7/8" of height. Because of this I recommend going ahead and getting the one that can provide you with a great height, part # AM3620. It does come with the rubber grip pad that will help to prevent slipping but it it would be wise to go ahead and get the Andersen...

  • Wheel Chock Recommendation for Disconnected Trailer on Hill
Utilizing wheel chocks like the Anderson Tuff Chock # 3605 wouldn't be ideal for the angle you are stating. Of course the weight of the boat is likely not distributed evenly over the axle, there are some chocks I believe would work for the situation you stated. I recommend using the etrailer Wheel Chocks - Polyurethane - Qty 2 # 288-02011-2 which have a little more grip on the bottom of the chocks and have a little more give to ensure they won't slide down the hill. Another great option...

  • Does Blaylock EZ Jack Match Curve of Andersen Tuff Chock
You definitely want to put some sort of chock in the wheel that's still on the ground when raising a trailer. The Blaylock EZ Jack # EZ-JACK is not the same radius as the Andersen Tuff Chock # 3605. The Tuff Chock does match the Andersen Rapid Jack # AM3620.

Great news! The Andersen Tuff Chock # 3605 would be a great replacement for the chock that is included in the part # AM3604. I was able to go out to our warehouse and compare the two pieces and they are identical in every way. I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.

  • Will Anderson Tuff Chock Work on 53-Foot Trailer
I spoke with my contact at Anderson and he said the Anderson Tuff Chocks, part # 3605, that you reference will work for anything in the travel trailer industry, so yes, they will work with your 53-foot trailer. These chocks are made to easily fit right in front of your tire to keep it from rolling forwards or back.

  • Can Anderson Rapid Jack # AM3620 be Used to Level 2005 StarCraft Travel Star with Dual Axle
The Anderson Rapid Jack, # AM3620, could be used to level your 2005 StarCraft Travel Star with dual axle but the Andersen Camper Leveler, # AM3604, would be a much better option. The proper way to level a dual axle trailer would be to put a leveler under both wheels. The Rapid Jack, # AM3620, is too long to fit between the two tires so you would be limited to using it on the front or back axle only, not both. You would also need to add Tuff Chock, # 3605, since one is not included. The...

  • Wheel Chock Recommendation for Preventing Trailer From Rolling Down Hill
Sounds like you are looking for a wheel chock like the Andersen Tuff Chock part # 3605 that can keep the trailer from moving. Putting one of these on the downhill side of trailer wheel will prevent it from moving. You'd need a quantity of two of these. You should be careful not to try and store the trailer on too steep of a hill. The Camco Premium Locking Wheel Stop # CAM44662 will keep the trailer from moving and has a lock system that prevents it from being removed easily.
