I have 2” square tube lumber rack, how can i mount the Yakima hand roll, or any Yakima accessories? The jhook style is not adequate as i have a hobie outback?

It is possible to secure your Hobie outback kayak to your 2" square tube lumber rack. The Yakima HandRoll # Y04082 will not work for this with this kind of rack though. This will be the case for pretty much any other Yakima or other brand rack since they are pretty much all made to fit the more standard roof rack crossbar shapes, none of which are a 2" square.

What I suggest doing is using a simple crossbar pad like the Malone Rack Pad # MPG314. This will fit a 2" square tube and they are 25" long. You just place the kayak upside down on the pads and use the Tie Down Kit # e36ZR to secure it. We frequently carry a similar fishing kayak a Bonafide ss127 using this method and it works very well. We usually actually just throw it directly on to the crossbars (Yakima round bars) and tie it down, but using a pad will definitely add some protection. This has proven to be a safe and secure method for carrying really any size kayak.
