Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

While these worked great for the first few months and helped level the load, they have now become deformed and squished out of shape permanently. We have a slide in camper that is on the truck for only for trips otherwise the truck is unloaded and off the bumps. I did not expect them to deform so much, and so easily after only a year of use.

It is possible that with a slide in camper this spring is not rated higher enough for you. I recommend for your 2020 Ford 350 4WD taking a look at part # SSR-128-47-2 which has a 5000 lb capacity. As a side note, these springs do have a limited lifetime warranty and I can provide the details to you if you would like.

Sumo Springs work great with camper. Much less body roll, firm but not stiff ride

2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Easy installation, however the 2 puck spacers that touch the frame had to be ground down to fit my 2015 F250 frame. The inside portion of the frame has a rounded flange that rolls toward the ground, this is why I had to ground the puck spacers. Otherwise installation was a breeze and they work really well. Definitely reduce sway and sag in my work truck when fully loaded unlike the OE parts. The loaded photo is our truck bed fully loaded with about 2700 lbs in the bed and a trailer attached to the bumper.

2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Towed my 12k fifth wheel with my '23 super duty once before purchasing these. Night and day difference! The springs reduced the side to side sway and wallowy ride. My initial tow it felt more like a bumper pull than fifth wheel, now back to feeling very stable. The truck still squats pretty good but not as much.

2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Had a 2018 F-350 Platinum with airlift. Pull a 16K 5th wheel. Recently bought a 2023 F-250 Lariat. Read the reviews of these springs. Was skeptical at first. After 4000 miles, I'll never go back to air lift. Started out with just the springs then had to add the extra spacers to get rid of the front end lift. Truck rides smooth without any load. Sway and front lift gone! Great product! Air bags installed were $1600.00, Sumo Springs $370.00 self installed. Easy installation as well.

by:

Super easy to install, and is a perfect fitting, direct replacement of OEM hardware. Half an hour, and done. Don’t forget to torque fasteners properly, and use Type-E torque seal/mark, to do it like a pro.

Way better ride and control over the airbags with on board compressor. F250, Lance 825 For my application, yellow Sumo Springs are a superior product. And 110 the cost!

by:

This is the 3rd vehicle I have installed Sumo Springs and this Specific application did not disappoint. The installation was so simple and they fit perfectly. I purchased these for my 2019 F250 so I did'nt have to worry about sag when towing my fifth wheel and again they worked as designed. My truck would sag around 3 inches in stock form with the fifth wheel hooked up but after installing Sumos the truck dropped 1 1/2 inches. A noticeable difference. I opted to leave a 1/2 inch space from the bottom of the Sumos to the axle as to have a little less engagement. Ordering from etrailer was easy and shipping was fast.

by:

Senior citizen Installed in 30 mins on a 2022 f250 that hauls a 5th wheel. If I can do it must be an easy install. Use only one 1/2” spacer. Will test out in the coming weeks.

by:
2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I have installed the sumo springs on our RV and they worked as expected.
I will install the sumo springs on my truck to help with the ride and partial sag.

great while pulling my camper very stiff when unloaded i probably should have gone with the medium grade. easy to install well made

by:
2019 Volvo Cross Country

Added to my 2019 F-250 to help with load balance, spring sag, ride comfort when hauling or using my truck camper. Was a super easy install(30 min) and made a huge difference right away. I left one of the spacers out so I could maintain a slightly softer ride when unloaded. Just completed a cross country trip with the truck camper and a 7000# trailer. Cold winter time trip with 40mph+ cross winds. Ride was incredible, very stable, and kept sway very much under control. Wasn't sure if the SumoSprings would stiffen in the cold, but they performed great! Had previously been considering airbags but decided to try the SumoSprings first. I'll never go back, they'll be on every truck I own from now on!

Nissan Leaf

After 1 year of working very hard towing 20k to 30k pounds, still working like new, I really recommend it! When towing with sumo spring make the load smoother and helps a lot leaf springs and shocks!!

by:

Works as designed. No sqat when 5th wheel is hooked to truck. Highly recommend!!

Excellent product. Still functioning as designed after many trips with the 5th wheel.

They help a lot when towing large loads.

2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty

My second set of these and so easy to install. Works perfectly to prevent sagging and keep under better control.

by:
2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I purchased a set of the SumoSprings for my 2018 F-250 about a year ago. We had purchased a new fifth wheel, and although it towed great, the rear of my truck squatted about 3.5-4” when we were loaded for camping. After installing the SumoSprings—which was a very easy project—the rear of our truck only dropped 1.5” when loaded on the hitch. Plus, the ride was much smoother than before! When not towing, the SumoSprings do not affect the ride quality of our truck at all. Great investment for anyone who wants to improve ride quality and towing capability!

It’s been over a year since I put SumoSprings on my truck and they are still exactly what I needed! In fact, they’ve done such a good job that I ordered SumoSprings for trailers and added four of them to our fifth wheel’s suspension. They have really smoothed out the ride, especially over bridge transitions, and concrete pavement expansion joints!! Highly recommend doing this simple upgrade as well.

by:

easy to install and when i pull my 5 wheel trailer 17000lbs it made level out without truck squatting

by:

Just as advertised and installation was easy.

by:

They were easy to install and perform g reat!

Ford F-350 Super Duty

After much research, I opted for Sumo Springs for my 20 Superduty F350 4x4. Honestly I hadn't towed my 20,000 lb loaded weight 5th wheel Momentum too much without them on and even on rough roads I've never bottomed out my truck. They were very easy to install.

by:
2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Product arrived quickly. Easy to install. Good communication.

by:

Fast delivery and an easy install. I haven’t tried them with a load yet but, they seem perfect for helping to stabilize my truck when carrying my truck camper. They shouldn’t affect the ride when lightly loaded.

John

Excellent, my srw f-350 rides better than my previous drw f-350 with camper loaded

by:
2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Installed them on my 2019 F250 liked the fact it didn’t change my unloaded ride, Once my 5th wheel with a 2500lb weight was hitched the truck lowered 2” make the truck level. The ride was very good while towing. I’m very happy with this purchase.

by:

I received my order today had them installed in less than a half an hour looks great I would say it’s three times the size of the original ones should be no more sag.

2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty

  • Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement For 2019 Ford F-250 4WD W/ Truck Bed Camper
Since the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F35FV and the helper springs like the # SSR-127-54 install at the same spot you will only be able to install one of them on your 2019 Ford F-250 4WD, but you will also more than likely need just one of the two. I recommend going with the # F35FV as it offers 5000lbs of load leveling support which is plenty since you mentioned your Lance truck bed camper is around 3700lbs, and it is adjustable allowing you...

  • Sumo Springs Recommendation for 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty when Bumper Towing Reflection 312BHTS
When it comes to adding some extra support to improve your towing experience I love the SumoSprings because they're easy to install and they provide you with progressive load support that doesn't effect the unloaded ride quality on your vehicle. With that said, the TSS-107-40 (for trailers) and CSS-1168F (for coil springs) are not the parts you're looking for. Because of the 800-1200-lbs tongue weight of your trailer, I recommend using the SumoSprings # SSF-111-47 (front) and # SSR-127-47...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For A 2022 Ford F-350 Dually
I can certainly point you in the right direction. I agree with you that the 2,800 sumo springs # SSR-127-54 will not be enough for the kind of weight you are pulling with your 2022 Ford F-350. They may help slightly with sagging, but you would be overloading the springs and that is never recommended. A Timbren # TFR350SDJ would be much more appropriate for this application. These are 8,600 lb capacity rubber springs which will absolutely help eliminate sagging, and improve your ride quality...

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-127-54 with a 2,800 lb capacity are the springs you need to help with the rear sag of your 2019 Ford F-250. The stronger 2,800 lb capacity is what you need to handle the 1700 lb pin weight. The springs will work well to level out the ride but they are made from a lighter weight micro-cellular spring. The micro-cellular material allows the spring to be progressive so they compress more with weight and less with a lighter load which...

For your 2019 Ford F-250 Short Bed 4WD I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-127-54 that you were looking at as it has a 2800lb load rating which is perfecto for your 2800lb camper, and will help with sway and body roll. This will not affect the unloaded ride of your truck. I included a video of the # SSR-127-54 for you to take a look at.

That's a good question, but the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-127-54 that fit your 2020 Ford F-350 are not going to bottom out despite the fact you have more than the 2,800 lb capacity rating of the springs. That weight rating is just the amount of weight it takes to compress the spring down to 50 percent of its original height.
