2001 GMC Sierra - Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks - Rear Axle

  • Air Springs
  • Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement
  • Standard Duty
  • Air Lift

2,000-lb Capacity. Lowered trucks have a weakened load capacity and reduced suspension travel. SlamAir adjustable air springs beef up your suspension, improving ride comfort, preventing bottoming out, and increasing overall safety.

Features:

  • Provides your vehicle with up to 2,000 lbs of suspension support, improving ride comfort, preventing bottoming out and increasing overall safety
    • Designed specifically for lowered trucks
  • Keeps your vehicle level when you are hauling a heavy load
    • Improves steering and brake performance
    • Helps to maintain safe headlight aim
    • Keeps your tires from wearing unevenly
  • Lets you manually adjust air pressure to get the even load distribution and support that you need
    • Level your vehicle front to rear
    • Inflate each spring independently for side-to-side leveling of off-center loads
  • Reduces the strain on your OEM suspension that results from the combination of heavy loads and a lowered truck
  • Diminishes sway and helps to prevent bottoming out
  • Installs between your vehicle's frame and its leaf springs
    • Manual inflation valves are typically mounted on bumper for easy access
  • Includes easy-to-use air line fittings, 2 air springs, mounting brackets, hardware, tubing and manual inflation valves
    • Add a compressor system with in-cab gauges (sold separately) to monitor and automatically adjust air pressure
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Load-leveling capacity: up to 2,000 lbs
    • SlamAir springs will not increase your vehicle's weight-carrying capacity. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight limit.
  • Adjustable air pressure: 5 psi - 100 psi
  • Limited lifetime warranty

So you've lowered your truck, and it looks fantastic. However, you realize that your load capacity and suspension travel have deteriorated in the process. You're bottoming out more, and your ride simply isn't as comfortable as it could be. With SlamAir you can have the great look of a lowered truck while maintaining beefed-up suspension. You get a smooth, safe ride and prevent bottoming out. Now your vehicle will be as strong as it was when you drove it off the dealer's lot.

Enhancing your lowered truck's suspension with SlamAir provides your vehicle with up to 2,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity. SlamAir can accommodate most trucks with a 2- to 6-inch drop, as well as those with flipped axles and notched frames. The air springs themselves are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi, ensuring that you achieve the exact pressure levels that you need for any activity. And the springs can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling.

SlamAir comes with manual inflation valves that are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere on your vehicle for easy access. For even more convenience and control, you can add a compressor and gauge system (sold separately), which will let you monitor and automatically inflate your air springs.

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

The SlamAir kit includes easy-to-use air line fittings, springs, brackets, air line tubing, inflation valves and all necessary hardware. SlamAir also comes with a limited lifetime warranty with no mileage restrictions.

Great product works really well

by:
2017 Ford F-150

I purchased this setup for my lowered truck so I can continue towing without worrying about bottoming out. Fast shipping and simple installation.

by:

Easy to mount works great

by:

Works well, great product! Was sold the wrong set on the first purchase. This was the second purchased. I asked for a discounted purchase because it was wring and was able to use the wrung ines in my other truck. Never heard back and the purchase was completed without any discounts.

Installed these on a lowered 2014 f150 to help when I tow my boat. The directions aren’t very good and the install was a pain as far as mounting the top bracket to the Frame. My frame rails weren’t flat so the top brackets took some work to get them correct. Overall they do what was expected and seem to be ok so far. I’ve only driven for about 50 miles at the moment.

by:

Worked perfect for my 2006 f150 on a 3/5 drop. Towed a camper with it no problems

by:

It was very easy to install especially since I already had a C-Notch done in the back with an axle flip. With this added on I no longer band the axle against the bottom of the bed floor.

by:

Great fit. Work perfectly for what I needed. Quick shipment also from etrailer.com

by:

Used it with a mcgaughys c notch, fit f ine.

by:

Looks like described and very happy tha nks

by:

  • Air Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Lowered 4 inches
If your 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 is a 2 wheel drive truck and has a suspension drop the correct kit you would need is the part # AL59103. If you lowered your truck with like drop spindles or some other way that doesn't affect the suspension you would instead want a kit like part # AL59501.

  • Recommended Air Helper Springs for a Lowered 1996 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup
The Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59103 is confirmed to fit a 1996 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup but is intended to be used on trucks that have been lowered 2"-4". The reason for the bag placement deals largely with the vehicle's altered suspension. The amount of support has more to do with the type of airbag (Sleeve/Convoluted) in comparison to its placement (Front of Axle/On Axle/Behind Axle). This is the only airbag kit we have designed for vehicles lowered...

  • Best Airbags for a Lowered 1987 Chevrolet R10
In regards to the type of lowering kit that was installed on your 1987 Chevrolet R10, do you know if it was an axle flip kit installed (axle over leaf springs) or were lowering blocks/shackles used? If you have an axle flip kit then you are going to want to use the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59106BT but if you have lowering blocks/shackles then you will want to use the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59103. Though not...

  • Will Air Lift SlamAir AL59209 For 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 Fit 3 Wide Leaf Springs?
I have another option for you, but the Air Lift SlamAir # AL59103 is not confirmed to fit your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500. Instead we have the SlamAir # AL59209 which is confirmed to fit your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 as long as it has the 6-3/4' bed, is 2WD, and does not have a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch installed. If your truck does not match the above requirements then unfortunately we do not have a kit that will work for you. This will fit 3" wide leaf springs just fine as the U-bolts are 3"...

  • What is the Minimum Installed Height of the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks
I don't have the minimum installed height of the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59103 as you put but I can confirm that the kit is designed for a vehicle with a 2-4" drop. If you need more, you can use the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59209 which is designed for a 4-6" drop.

  • SlamAir Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2006 Chevy Silverado with Lowering Shackles
Typically drop shackles will lower suspension right at 2 inches which is what the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs # AL59103 that you referenced is designed to work with. This kit is also a fit for your 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT as well. For a compressor kit to help make inflating and deflating the bags easier we have the Air Lift Load Controller II part # AL25592. This will allow you to maintain air pressure in the bags as well monitor the air pressure from the gauge that mounts...

  • Air Lift Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2000 GMC Sierra with 4 inch Drop
Yes, the SlamAir Air Helper Springs # AL59202 that you referenced or the AL59103 would work well for suspension enhancement on your 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 4 inch drop. The # AL59202 is for vehicles with a 4 to 6 inch drop, the # AL59103 is for 2-4 inch drops. Since most likely your suspension has some miles on it I would imagine that the ride height has lowered a bit more than the 4 inches over time so the 4-6 inch system # AL59202 would probably be more ideal for you. The 2,000...
