Ordered for a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and it fits perfectly. Carrier feels solid and was easy to put together and mount on vehicle.

by:

The rack is great just what I was looking for.
The only issue I see is the straps are plastic so after using them for a little bit they broke. I had to order replacements. Let’s see how much time they last!

Originally I was looking to put a hitch on my 2021 jeep renegade sport for a hitch mount bike rack, after seeing that I would either have to remove seam sealer and drill holes in my rear subframe (this is not a good option living in the rust belt), or remove my entire back bumper off and cut holes in it for the factory style hitch, and still have a rack that is illegal and blocks my license plate/brake lights turn signals I decided to look at different options. A roof rack is a little too high to lift a bike on comfortably. This thule outway platform 2 takes about 10 minutes to install correctly, and is solid and holds the bike securely, and the rack locks to the vehicle, and also the bikes lock to the rack no extra purchases required (comes with 2 keys and plastic spoiler supports). I have driven 80mph over potholes and bumps, also on extreme hills and has held securely.

Great bike rack. The cable and hook system is extremely strong and tight and being bike to open the trunk with the rack attached (but without bike) is a godsend for packing. Assembly is somewhat difficult due to Thule’s IKEA-style picture instructions. Watching the video is essential. Once assembled, however, attaching and locking the rack in place is pretty simple. Be sure to wash and dry hooks, bumpers, and car surfaces to avoid scratches!

by:

The rear hatch mounted rack fit my X3 just as your website indicated - the technician who described how this rack would fit. I'm impressed with how well it is designed to be stable and to not impact the plastic spoiler above the rear window.

Great product. Packaging came damaged but product looked ok.

  • Carrying Three Bikes on 2008 Nissan Versa Sedan Using Hidden Hitch Class I Receiver # 60875
Due to the low tongue weight capacity of the Class I receiver, the hitch and bike rack manufacturers all agree that no more than 2 bikes should be carried on any hitch installed in a Class I receiver. The addition of a 3rd bike will place the load too far rearward of the receiver, which places additional leverage upon the hitch and its attachment points to the vehicle (as you suspected). Using a hitch adapter like the # HTAD will place the load even further away from the receiver, which...

  • 3-Bike Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2012 Honda Fit
For a 3-bike trunk mount bike carrier the best option is going to be the Thule OutWay # TH56BV. I have an older version of this carrier and it is by far the best trunk mount carrier I have ever used. The 2 retractable cables make installation quick and easy compared to other carriers that use 6 straps. The cables are also more durable and the slack is stored inside the carrier. This carrier also features the latest and greatest in cradle technology to better protect the bike frames. And...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack for 2013 Hyandai Elantra Sedan w/ Rear Spoiler
To see the various trunk mount bike racks that have been determined to be a fit for your 2013 Hyundai Elantra, click the provided link. Of the various choices, I would recommend the Thule OutWay, part # T45JV for a 2-bike model or # TH56BV for the 3-bike version. Without a doubt, the OutWay is the easiest-to-use trunk mounted rack we offer, which is why it is so highly rated by our customers. The OutWay uses only 2 rubber coated straps instead of the 4-6 of other carriers. This arrangement...

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for 2010 Honda Element
To mount a bike rack on the rear of your Element, there are two alternatives, a hitch mounted option or a trunk mounted option. The hitch mounted option would require that a hitch like the etrailer Class III receiver, part # e78KR be installed. The hitch would then serve as the attachment point for the bike rack, and could also be used with a cargo carrier or to tow a small trailer in the future, if the need should arise. Although going this route would be initially more expensive due...

  • Can the Rear Hatch be Opened on a 2012 Chevy Equinox with a Trunk Mount Bike Rack Installed
You should not lift the tailgate with a trunk mount bike rack installed for several reasons. First, the weight of the carrier can pull the hatch down on you. Opening the hatch can affect the fit of the rack and cause it to fall off. The hinges for the hatch are not designed for the extra weight. If you need to open the rear hatch then you will need to remove the bikes and rack first. With the Thule OutWay, # TH56BV, it is very easy to do so. I own this rack and it is simple to put on/take...

If you are looking for the best then I recommend the Thule OutWay # TH45JV for 2 bikes or # TH56BV for 3 bikes. Your 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring model is well suited for a trunk mounted bike rack. We have several that are a fit for your vehicle, see the provided link. Of the various racks available that fit your vehicle, without a doubt the easiest to use is the Thule OutWay. The OutWay is available in a 2 bike (# TH45JV) or 3 bike (# TH56BV) capacity. • Will the Thule OutWay Fit a 2013 Jeep Compass
Yes, I checked with Thule and the Thule OutWay 3 Bike Carrier # TH56BV that you referenced is a confirmed fit for you 2013 Jeep Compass. If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame tube that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike) I recommend using an adapter bar, # TH982XT, to carry those bikes more level and provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.

I checked with Thule and this rack has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle. What makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses only 2 retractable coated steel cables to attach to the vehicle rather than 4-6 nylon straps like other racks. This makes installation quick and easy and the cables also last longer.
