Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Mercedes C-Class Sedan

Question:

We have a 2016 C-Class Sedan Mercedes with a factory-fitted spoiler. We would like to carry three different types of bikes, sometimes all at the same time. There is a Medium-sized Cannondale womens fitness bike, a Cannondale Habit SE full suspension, curved frame mountain bike and a regular -bar road bike. We would use the Thule bike frame adapter for the Mountain bike. We own a Thule trunk rack which stays with the Jetta car. We find fitting the womens fitness bike tricky because of the small tube triangle the frame has. Q1: Perhaps the OutWay would be easier to fit the fitness bike? Q2: Will the OutWay carry all three bike types at once? Q3: Has anyone reported vehicle pain damage from the strap-hooks or the rack itself? We are nervous about the new Mercedesfoot paintwork! Sorry for the long mail.

For your 2016 Mercedes C-Class sedan the Thule OutWay Pro part # TH56BV that you referenced is a confirmed fit and would be the best option for a trunk rack as it is the nicest rack available. This rack is also very good at fitting unique frame designs since the arms can be moved closer to together if needed or can move up and down independently. The adapter bar I would recommend though is the part # UB01 as it has a latching system that seems to be a bit easier to use.

As long as you keep the paint and the contact pads of this rack clean you wouldn't have any issues with the paint. Just be sure to keep everything clean and don't overload the rack and you will be just fine.
