For a trunk mounted bike rack for your kids bikes, I recommend the Thule OutWay, part # TH56BV. This 3 bike rack includes an integrated bike and rack lock. Its FitDial and ratcheting, retractable mounting straps, make fitting to your vehicle extremely easy and fast. Another great feature is the rubberized straps that help protect the vehicle's finish.

The OutWay has a smaller arm spread, giving you a better fit for kids' bikes. . The front cradles are 6-1/2 inches apart and the rear cradles are 10-1/2 inches apart from outside to outside.

You'll need to use a frame adapter bar, part # 64005 to help bikes that don't fit onto the arms ride level. Most kids bikes will need this, though the dual arm setup of the OutWay will provide some fits. When using a frame adapter bar, be sure to lock the outermost bike by connecting to the frame, not the adapter bar. This bar is also useful as the kids get older and you need to carry aggressive or step through frame bikes on the rack.
