The highly corrosion-resistant finish on this steel wheel is applied through a physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating process. This process occurs in a vacuum environment so that the aluminum coating binds to the steel at a molecular level. As a result, the coating is harder, more durable, and more wear resistant than chrome plating.
Compared to hexavalent and trivalent chrome plating methods, the PVD process creates a finish that withstands the effects of water, flying debris, and other elements for a longer period of time. The aluminum-coated wheels performed for more than 168 hours in salt spray tests, up to 500 hours in water immersion tests, and up to 40 lbs in impact-resistance tests. They won't pit or peel like chrome-plated wheels, and they resist the effects of any chemicals that may be on the road, such as magnesium chloride or salt during icy or snowy weather.
In addition, the PVD coating process is an eco-friendly alternative to chrome plating, which is extremely toxic to the environment.
The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Every wheel has dings and nicks. We have no time to ship them back as we are using the trailer this weekend and have a bent wheel on it. Is there a PVD coating for touching up all the places where it’s dinged? :(
the tire I received was folded into itself probably for shipping purposes. I was a bit concerned, but my install guys said they didnt have any problems with it. worked out perfect.

Love the PVD coating, looks like black chrome. I bought the scratch/dent ones (less than half price of brand new) which is perfect for me, i save a few bucks and am not extra worried about putting a scratch or dent in them!! Win-win. Both wheels had scuffed paint. One wheel had a slight dent on the bead seat. My tire installer said to go with it. My rating would be a bit above average. Excellent if there had not been wheel damage.I will continue business with you as my needs warrant.

The wheels are made very well. The shipping was exactly on time.
When I ordered these in black, wasn’t sure if they were solid black or black chrome. They came as black chrome which is what i wanted. The finish one these wheels are fantastic. I am replacing these on my camper that have aluminum wheels now. One of them somehow got cracked and can’t find a match so decided this time to go with steel wheels because these much more durable. The last camper also had aluminum wheels that got cracked.
Although others may not consider these as stylish as aluminum, I would recommend these as i wanted sturdy wheels rather than looks and i like the style of these. I think they will look just as nice once installed.
Rims look great, exactly as advertised. PVD finish is outstanding. Can't wait to mount wheels on them and install on my boat trailer.

fast service ordered on Friday and had it by Saturday and the wheels I got look awesome!! They look better than the picture and the price was great!
Package arrived in a timely manner but the packaging should have been more robust to keep rims from banging together and possibly damaging the finish. Happy with the purchase though.
This rim has an awesome finish, you need to see in person.

About one year later and the rims and tires look brand new. The color is labeled Black PVD, but they are more like a Black Pearl rainbow.
I received the rims very timely they look great and Melissa who helped me was awesome
