Optronics MCL17 Series Miro-Flex LED Marker Clearance Light with Chrome Bezel Dimensions

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

P2-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for P2 rated light

A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

These side markers (both red and amber LED) are great for my 12' trailer. They have 3 LEDs (you can also get 4), and their size is perfect for a small trailer. The LED's are really bright, not only at night, but also during the day, so they are easily seen. I especially like the fact that they are sealed, so there should be no water intrusion problems in the future. I have included a few pictures, the first showing the round LED brake/turn/running/reverse lights (that I had purchased earlier from etrailer) with the red side marker mounted vertically on the outside. The second shows a side view of the red side marker light, and the 3rd picture shows the side marker mounted to a small piece of 1" X 1" x 1/8" aluminum angle which I painted black to match the mounting frame of the round LED lights. I mounted the LED side marker to one leg of the aluminum angle, then mounted the other leg with 1" standoffs to two holes already present on the black mounting frame of the round LED light. Although all the lights are sealed against water intrusion, I decided to mount them on each side of the trailer at the top of 2 PVC pipes, about 36" long each, where the lights would not be exposed to immersing in water when launching/retrieving a boat.

After a year, the lights are still bright as ever. One of them even survived being drug down the highway for 100 yards when the PVC pole it was mounted to came out of its holding fixture!!

Direct replacement for broken lights on my RV. Easy to do business with etrailer!!

by:

This fixture was the exact replacement for my 2011 Trailmanor 2720 trailer. The manufacturer had moved to a more modern looking fixture. I was even able to use the old chrome piece from the old fixture to keep a uniform age look. I installed a wireless rearview camera and needed a new fixture and its longer wires to make everything work. May look a little strange, but it works like a charm. E-Trailer service was excellent as usual.

The fixture is still hanging in there. No issues.

These bright and waterproof little lights are wonderful. They draw only .5 watts (ie so little they will probably not make a difference to any auto, RV etc lighting circuit). I used them to enhance the dim stop and turn signal on my RV. The plastic lens were fogged and the voltage kind of low (a 40' RV has a lot of voltage drops) but these little LEDs shine bright and were a LOT cheaper than trying to replace the existing fixtures. I just wired them in parallel with the existing light bulb. So now I have a bright stop light and a built-in spare (the existing bulb could burn out and the LED will keep working). The photo shows how I did it

Needed a rear clearance light for our 2016 Tiffin 40AH Phaeton and etrailer.com gave excellent service, fast shipping and the product was as described and worked perfectly.

by:

The original package came partially opened and a piece was missing. Called and received a replacement within a couple of days. I appreciate the customer service and quick response.

by:

Shipping was fast, lights were easy to install and look great, really bright at night. The "bling" to top off paint-n-seal update we are in the process of doing on our 1983 travel trailer. The new LED's make the camper look good, friends thought we got a new one. Highly recommend them.

by:

Order what I thought was similar lights for my flatbed but was very wrong. These lights here are some of the best quality and exact fit and bright lights on the market. Definitely will continue to receive my business!!!

Perfect match for my 2014 Tiffin cargo lights.

by:

I have purchased both Red and Amber lights. See my review on the Amber.

by:

It might be possible to give 5 stars but after purchasing all the products about a year ago, my little fiberglass trailer is not even close to being ready. All the lighting is hooked up and they all seem to work, so that's a good thing. The other products that I purchased have not been installed yet.
I would like to mention how pleased I am with e-trailer videos showing everyone how their products look and how they're used. Keep it up, I am a happy customer.

Vic

Perfect fit and great price. Fast shipp ing.

by:

It's what I ordered

by:

These will go on the rear of my Big Horn. Haven't puit them on yet because RV is under a cover because Diesel was too expensive to take RV on vacation. But will install as soon as it stays below 90 degrees.

by:

Look exactly like the photo and very nice looking lights , I am very pleased with there appearance and really improves the look of my horse trailer

They look and work like the day I got them still very pleased

by:

Great light, Lifetime warranty easy install. I had one go out on my 2014 Forest River so 1 ordered a few of each color just incase I had on burn out while I was one the road. Now what's funny. Our station just took delivery of a new 2016 Horton Medic truck and low and behold we have the same lights on our truck.

by:

Nice looking tail light that I used to replace faded upper clearance lights on the rear of the fifth wheel. Excellent fit.

These guys Rock! Ordered one day and 2 days later I had them. Could hardly have driven to town and tried to locate the lights myself before these arrived.
Great lights! Look good, and easy to install.

by:

I used these lights to upgrade the lighting on a custom bike i built. Lights were easy to install.have proved very durable and greatly increased the rear lighting on the bike .have had no problems and would use them again.

by:

This light was of better quality than expected. I replaced dim/faded 50+ year old original lights after some consideration of "originality vs safety" and safety won out. More attractive and a brighter light, great upgrade.

by:

Exact fit and fast shipping! Thanks

by:

Reordered this product when needed a new side marker as it was perfect! Product was delayed and customer service kept me updated as the wait continued. Product was well worth the wait and it was nice that they cared enough to keep me in the loop!

  • Connection 12 Volt Power Wire for 7-Way on a 2009 Dodge Journey
Whether you are talking about the 12 volt power wire from a 4-Way powered converter or the 12 volt circuit from a 4- to 7-Way adapter, such as # 37185, they both connect to the vehicle positive battery terminal. It sounds like you are talking about the 7-Way so for it you will need a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540, and enough wire, # 12-1-1, to reach from the front of the vehicle to the rear. You would change the number in the quantity box on the wire page to the amount of feet needed....

  • How To Charge Trailer Battery On Dump Trailer Using The 7-Way Trailer Connector
You can provide a maintenance charge to the trailer mounted battery on your trailer via the 7-Way trailer connector's 12 volt circuit. But the wiring in that circuit is too small to handle the amount of amperage needed to charge up the battery. It is also possible that the alternator on the truck is not strong enough to push back that much amperage even with a larger wire gauge. So if you connect a wire from the 12 volt circuit to the battery on the trailer it will provide a maintenance...

  • Should I Unplug My 7-Way When Raising my Dump Trailer
I would recommend you unplug the 7-way before you activate the dump feature of your trailer. A lot of times if you leave the 7-way plugged in while dumping your trailer it will short out the 12 volt accessory circuit.

  • Can a Trailer Battery On Dump Trailer Be Charged Using The 7-Way Trailer Connector
The issue is that trailer wiring is too small and vehicle alternators are rarely strong enough to push back the amperage needed to charge up a trailer mounted battery (unless it is a small breakaway system battery). The amount of power sent back is only enough to keep the battery at the level of charge it is currently at. Having the 12 volt circuit connected to a 12 volt trailer battery will not over charge it because it cannot charge it up so no worries there. When you have access to...

  • Using a Trailer Tail Light on a Cargo Carrier
A clearance light like # MCL17RB will not provide you the separate running, brake, and turn functions. It will stay on all the time your running lights are on. Another option instead is to use a strip light like # STL59RB. It will provide all of the functions however if you just install one it will flash regardless of which turn signal you're using. You can install two, one on each side of the cargo carrier if you'd like. You'll also need to install a 4-way connector on the carrier...

  • Charging 4 Deep Cycle Batteries Running a Power Inverter with Fridge Plugged in While Traveling
What you can do is connect the batteries that power the inverter directly to the starter battery on the truck or even an alternator in your 2018 Ford F-450. Keep in mind though that when multiple batteries are connected together it takes a long time to charge all of them up. Instead of using the batteries you could attach the inverter directly to one of the truck batteries so that it will get constant power without depleting the truck batteries. This will allow you to keep your 4 deep...

The Miro-Flex LED Clearance or Side Maker Light w/ Chrome Bezel - Submersible - 4 Diodes - Red Lens # MCL19RB and Amber Lens # MCL19AB prices change as the manufacturer determines. This is sometimes a material cost and other times is the basic supply and demand equation that doesn't have an easy formula. • Troubleshooting Trailer Electrical/Brake Controller Problem on Trailer Towed by 1999 Chevy Suburban
Have you tried towing the dump trailer with a different vehicle? This would pretty quickly tell you if the problem exists with the tow vehicle or the trailer wiring. If the trailer does the same thing with a different tow vehicle, then you know the problem lies in the trailer wiring. At first glimpse, I'd be inclined to think that the problem you're having lies in the way the trailer connector on the trailer is wired. Please refer to the trailer wiring FAQ article I've provided to confirm...

  • Solar Battery Charge Kit Recommendation for Golf Cart Battery Bank Wired in Series
The OptiMate Solar Duo Solar Charging System with Controller - 20 Watt Solar Panel # MA79JR would be a great choice to give your golf cart's battery bank a maintenance charge when it's parked. It can put out a charge of up to 1.67 amps which would do a great job keeping them topped off. Since your 6 volt batteries are wired in series and have an output of 12 volts this would wire to them also in series to match this.

You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and check the # 4 terminal on the back of the 7-way trailer connector on your trailer for power. This is the 12-volt power terminal so there should be power to that terminal. You will need to run a 10-gauge power wire like the, # 10-1-1, from the # 4 terminal (12 volt) on the 7-way trailer connector on the trailer to the positive terminal on the trailer battery. This will allow you to maintain a charge on your trailer battery,...

At best trailer wiring can provide a maintenance charge to a trailer mounted battery but it can't charge up the battery. This is because the wiring is too small and most vehicle alternators...
