Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Replacement Studs for Trailer Hub # AH60880FCOMP
For replacement wheel studs for the Trailer Hub Assembly # AH60880FCOMP that you referenced you would want the # 7-232 and you'd be set. These are 2-3/4 inches long, 5/8 inch diameter and have a spline length of .31 inch.

  • Spindle & Hub For Agricultural Trailer With 3,000 lb Carrying Capacity
You didn't mention the total weight of the trailer, just the 3,000 lb carrying capacity so I can only assume the weight of the rest of the trailer will be quite a bit more. So go with Agricultural Spindle for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU67FR. The correct hub for this spindle is the Trailer Hub Assembly - 8 on 8" - 6,000 lb # AH60880FCOMP.

  • Size of Hub Bore for Agricultural Hub AH60880FCOMP
The Trailer Hub Assembly # AH60880FCOMP has an inner bore diameter of 3.125 inches. However, to answer your question about the wheels and tires, there are no wheels we carry (or have access to) which have an 8 on 8 bolt pattern as we mostly deal in products for recreational vehicles. I also want to mention that for agricultural hubs like these, they are generally for lower speed applications and the manufacturer does say they are not to exceed 20 mph. I have added a link to a video review...

  • Agricultural Spindle and Hub Combinations with 6 on 6 Inch and 8 on 8 Inch Bolt Patterns
The correct trailer hub to use with the Agricultural Spindle part # TRU67FR is the Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH60880FCOMP which features an 8 on 8" bolt pattern. The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 42660UC1 will not fit the Agricultural Spindle part # TRU67FR but it will fit the EZ Lube Spindle part # TRU37FR. We also have the Agricultural Spindle part # TRU34FR which can be paired with the Complete Agricultural Hub Assembly part # AH30660FCOMP. I have attached the pairs for...

  • Do Agricultural Hubs Spin More Freely Than Standard Hubs
You are not going to see much difference in the drag or how easily an agricultural hub spins compared to a standard hub. I will say since agricultural hubs are designed for low speed machinery they are not rated for high speeds like standard hubs are. The amount of drag really comes into play when you are referring to hubs and drums with brakes. Since you are using an idler hub like part # AH60880FCOMP for your application then you won't really see a difference in the spin.

  • Spindle and Hub for 6,000 Pound Axle
You will want part # TRU57FR for your standard spindle that is compatible with the hub # AKIHUB-655-6-K you mentioned. Another option is # TRU67FR which is an agricultural spindle to fit the 6k capacity. The hub compatible with this spindle is the # AH60880FCOMP.

  • Can Trailer Hub Assembly AH60880FCOMP Fit Spindle That Uses Inner Bearing 25580?
No, the Trailer Hub Assembly # AH60880FCOMP uses inner bearing # 506849 which has and I.D. of 2.165" where the # 25580 inner bearing your spindle uses has an I.D. of 1.750" meaning these bearings are not interchangeable. There are quite a few hub assemblies that do use the # 25580 inner bearing you mentioned so I link a page showing all of these hubs, but if you can tell me the bolt pattern of your current wheels I would be happy to make a recommendation for you.

  • How To Grease the 8 on 8 Inch Trailer Hub Assembly Part AH60880FCOMP
The Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH60880FCOMP will be lubricated by packing the bearings with wheel bearing grease part # L11380 and a bearing packer part # L70025. That said, there is not any sort of grease fitting on this hub or any trailer hub I am aware of for that matter as this is just not common practice. If a grease fitting is present, it will be located on the end of the spindle but this is only for select axles. The majority of older trailers will be lubricated by hand.

  • Compatibility of TRU67FR Spindle and Dexter 42655UC1 Idler Hub
We carry the # AS6000F spindle as part # TRU67FR. The spindle and the # 42655UC1 hub you mentioned aren't compatible. If you wanted to use the # TRU67FR (AS6000F) spindle, you'd need to use the compatible hub which is part # AH60880FCOMP. This is an agricultural hub which isn't meant for higher speed road use, and has an 8 on 8 bolt pattern which is pretty much relegated to farm equipment. If you need a spindle that's compatible with the # 42655UC1 hub, which has a more commonly used...

  • Determining Which Replacement Hub Fits 1000 Gallon Water Wagon
We may have a hub that will work for you, but I will need to know what bearings your current hubs use. To do this you will need to remove one of the current hubs and look for the bearing numbers stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649. If your bearings are worn to the point that you cannot read the bearing numbers then you will need to use digital calipers # PTW80157 to precisely measure your spindle in the locations shown in the included diagram....

  • Available 8-Lug Trailer Hubs for Spindle TRU67FR
None of the available 8-on-6-1/2 hubs use the bearings required for a fit on agricultural spindle # TRU67FR. That spindle requires a hub that uses bearings 506849 and 501349. We have one hub that fits that spindle, part # AH60880FCOMP, but this has an 8-on-8 bolt pattern. We do offer trailer hubs with the 8-on-6-1/2 wheel bolt pattern. These include both hub/drums like Dexter # 42866UC3-EZ and idler hubs like # 42865-KIT and all appear on the linked page.

  • Height of 6K Redline Trailer Hub Assembly with 8 on 8" Bolt Pattern
I believe you are referring to the height of the Trailer Hub Assembly # AH60880FCOMP when it is standing on end as the "disc" part of the hub would naturally be larger than 8" due to the 8 on 8" bolt pattern. I went out to the warehouse and found that this measures about 5-1/2".

  • Can Hub # 42660UC1 Be Converted To Fit a Spindle # TRU57FR?
You are either going to get a different Spindle # TRU57FR or Hub # AH60880FCOMP as there is not a set of bearings and races we carry to make the Hub # 42660UC1 fit on the Spindle # TRU67FR. Since you most likely already have the 6 on 6" wheels and tires it makes the most sense to change to the Spindle # TRU57FR and keep the Hub # 42660UC1.

  • Will 8 On 8 Inch Hub Work With Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System
Unfortunately, the Trailer Hub Item # AH60880FCOMP will not fit the spindles of the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02. Like you pointed out, this is the only 8 on 8 inch hub option we have for you. We do have other hub options that would fit the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System, Item # TASR7KS02, like Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, Item # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K, but they are 8 on 6-1/2. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions.

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Replacement Axles
An 8 on 8 is pretty unheard of and as far as I was able to find, there were no brake kits for it. I know you're not wanting to change your axles out, but this is going to be your only option. I'd love to help you pick out a replacement, but before that I am going to need to know what you're working with first.
