Took me 30 minutes by myself. Would take no more than 10 minutes with a second set of hands.
Excellent product. The installation went well with the proper tools and a floor Jack. The hitch receiver fit perfectly once properly aligned. I’m happy with the unit as installed.

I watched three YouTube videos to determine which etrailer trailer hitch would best suit my Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, I choose the etrailer e38kr over the Kurt & Draw-tite because of the matte black finish. I purchased the torque wrench and the trim removal tool recommended in the installation video. I highly recommend etrailer and there quality products.
I have purchased two hitch receivers through etrailer. This purchase was for a Hyundai Tucson.
Positives-
1. Products and visuals make selection easy.
2. Installation videos are very helpful.
3. Fast delivery.
4. Nests up well under the rear facia and is hardly visible.
Negatives -
1. The heavy hitch receiver was shipped in a simple cardboard carton… no surprise that there were holes in the carton and bare metal was exposed on the receiver extremities… disappointing since the matte black powder coat finish is promoted.
2. Installation was straight-forward, although more difficult than my first etrailer receiver (Chevy Equinox). The fit to the box frame members was snug and required a jack to fully seat.
I recommend etrailer hitch receivers but would like to see packaging improved.

I am sorry that your hitch arrived with some metal being exposed. I have sent your information over to our customer service department to see if there is anything we can do for you. As for any marks, I highly recommend covering those up with a rust-o-leum type of paint to prevent any corrosion. I have a link below for reference.

Great item. The fit was perfect for my 2023 Sportage after a little jacking on either side for proper hole alignment (due I think to whatever Kia applies to the vehicle subframe as a protectant). The receiver is well hidden under the vehicle when not in use, but is still poistioned perfectly for a four-bike hitch carrier. The matte finish is preferable to other manufacturers' gloss finish and complements my Sportages's matte finish as well. A+!
The receiver is sturdy and fit right it. I followed the video instructions, which was amazing, and had it installed in under 20 minutes. I'm super happy with my receiver. This is my second I've purchased a receiver from Etrailer for one of my cars and I will keep coming back.
The fit was off just ever so little but enough to not allow the mounting bolt to thread in. Tried a few remedies to get them lined up properly to no avail. Full disclosure - I installed myself laying on my back using jack stands as an extra set of hands. If I can get the car lifted I may try a complete removal and re-install. This is my 2nd etrailer brand hitch
The hitch was easy to install. It took me 30 minutes. Before and after pictures. Fit was very snug.
Hitch arrived on correct day as stated. The hitch had broken out of the box in several places. I needed to paint a few areas where the paint had rubbed or scraped off. Other than that it took me about an hour to install all by myself and it fit very well. The installed hitch didn't stick out from the rear vehicle as well as I had hoped so I am purchasing an extention to resolve that.

This review should have been 5 stars. I was very disappointed in the way that the box arrived. the hitch was packaged in a thin box just floating around inside of it. It broke through in 3 places and the powder coat was scraped off exposing bare metal. It could have been a 20 minute install, but I could not in good conscience just bolt it up and ignore the bare metal exposed to the elements. I had to take extra time to get some matte paint and touch up the ends of the hitch before I installed it. I should not have to fix / modify a brand new product myself. It would have been pointless to ask for a return and ship another if they are all packaged the same way. Thank goodness someone taped the bolts to the hitch with some heavy strapping tape or they would have been lost as well.
The hitch itself was very easy to install and is secure. The bolt holes aligned perfectly and I like how it is contoured to fit stealthily up under rear bumper. I am not currently towing anything with it, but will be using it to attach a heavy duty bike rack and a cargo basket. I expect that it will perform flawlessly.
Almost took longer to watch the video than it did to install the hitch! 20 minutes flat with no cursing! Excellent product now I can use bike racks cargo carriers and even tow smile trailer everything was perfect. Start to finish as always with the trailer fast shipping and perfect product and advice every time.
Super fast delivery and great product. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the box arrived with the receiver poking out through a hole it had made in the cardboard box. It didn’t hurt the hitch at all just scratched the finish a little.
Well made and sturdy. Will mainly use it for transporting bikes on a hitch rack.
The delivery was so fast ! I am happy! Box was damaged like it was dropped from the plane onto my front yard and had a few scratches on the product but it is a hitch and no big deal.
Lined up perfectly, looks just like the factory hitch and the matte coating seems much more premium than the glossy finish on most receivers.
I didnt install it but a friend did. He watched the video and once he realized he had to remove a protective plate it went very smoothly. I love the matte finish and it looks great. This will be used for luggage basket and bike rack. So pleased with the result.

the item comes on time as it described on the order form. the delivery tracking is very accurate and right on time. the installation instructions is simple and easy to follow. this hitch fits hyundai tucson sel 2024 very well. got all 5 fastest in with simple hand turns, but the last bolt took a it more persuading. overall, it is very simple install.
Easy to find the proper product. Great information on hitch installations. Easy ordering. Fast delivery. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. This is my 3rd hitch from ETRAILER, and they have all been great!

excellent product, very good quality, I bought the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver model - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish, for my 2023 Hyundai tucson, easy to install.
It’s a hitch, it was easy to install, looks good on my vehicle, and etrailer has great installation information and customer service.
The process was pretty simple and pretty easy. I had my wife control the floor jack to help me position the hitch into place. It would suggest getting a friend to help hold one side of the hitch while you position the other. It took some effort to get adequate leverage to get to the specified torque specs.
Great hitch! After one year the hitch still looks brand new. I would definitely recommend this product
