2020 GMC Acadia
Purchased for installation on a 2021 Acadia - VERY simple minimal disassembly with the vehicle sitting on the ground. No lift required, simple hand tools with exception of a real torque wrench (rent one or buy a nice one - this is a key step for assembly safety!) Nothing seldomly goes smoothly - however based on the application, I am very satisfied with the process, the piece is solid, clean welds, snug fit, large platform and perfect for the application I am using it for. Installed alone - took my time but if I was hustling I’m sure 40 min installation would be max time.

Built like a tank! Install was straight forward for 2017 Acadia. Didn’t have any issues bolting to the frame. If you watch the video this is exactly how it goes. You can’t go wrong with this hitch.

Fit was very difficult to install shield needed to be cut out much more than 4 " to get flat fit against rail - front bolts did not line up on one side visible difference between weld on right side required reaming of holes and bracket to get bolt through hitch contacted mounting nuts of exhaust hanger.

- Which Heat Shield Studs Are Removed For etrailer e36AR Installation on 2017 GMC AcadiaWhen installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e36AR you will remove one heat shield stud on each side after reinstalling the heat shields. The stud you will be removing is the one near the exhaust hanger where you removed the two bolts to lower the exhaust. See the attached picture. The installation process is the same as the # C13293. I really like the etrailer hitch because it installs behind your rear bumper cover and can be completely hidden when you are not towing. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. I know that this hitch is a more challenging install. It sounds like that it was possible that the side bracket were flexed out of alignment. We do have a FAQ that can help when that happens.
