Perfect for light-duty towing, this custom, vehicle trailer hitch receiver features fully welded, gloss powder coated steel construction. Drawbar sold separately.Installed C12012 on a 1999 Ford Ranger Step side 2 door XLT with 2.5l engine. Removing the two bolts closest to the bumper proved to be the biggest challenge. But after they were removed the hitch fit perfectly. The frame already had holes in it for the two forward bolts. So, no drilling required.
Turned out I did need to order a 1-1/4 inch Curt 45028 ball mount with a 6" drop down to connect with my small trailer. The hitch is about 4" lower than the bumper ball mount location, but that was not low enough. )
My receiver was bent during the shipping process, thanks for not packaging it up properly. Who’s ever in charge of the packing department shouldn’t have this responsibility, maybe MacDonalds Hamburger might have an opening in there restaurant for that individual. I’m extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with your product so I’ll let people know on [social media] about this situation. P.S. had a (hellof) a time putting it on.
All the products I ordered were delivered in just 4 days, nicely packed with no damage. The hitch it self looked nice with a little heat distortion on the frame mounting flanges causing the install just slightly difficult. But being an Ironworker it was off to the work truck and the problem was solved with the use of a spud wrench. Total install time under 30 minutes and it looks great.
Straightforward installation and perfect fit on a 96 Ford Ranger. On such an old truck I expected some fitment issues but all went well.
Appears to be of good construction, but I had to flex the mounts a TON to get it to fit on my 02 Ranger. Now that it's on, seems to be a solid fit.
No problems or complain here on time and the exact item I ordered . Can only recommend

If you are having troubles with the holes not lining up, it could be that the hitch has been flexed during shipment. This is common amongst hitches, since the mounting brackets are made from a mild steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle after installation. If the entire hitch was made of rigid steel, there would be a greater chance of the hitch being damaged and experiencing stress cracks. Such cracks could cause the hitch to malfunction. This flexing often times will cause the holes not to align. Because of this we do have a help article I have the link attached below that will walk you through the process of straightening the hitch.
