The hitch fits great to my Mustang 2012. I use it exclusively to transport my bikes using a Thule Rack since my car is not designed to tow anything. It this was an opinion I am very sure the hitch could do it with not issues. The constructions is solid and the fitting to the car was very straight forward. Highly recommend.

The hitch receiver is great and fairly discreet. Installation was as easy as following the basics instructions provided and/or watching the video online. I would recommend to anyone looking to pull a small trailer with a Mustang.

No complaints about the product itself but a warning to Mustang GT owners - if you have aftermarket exhaust like many GT owners do, this product is NOT an easy DIY job and it may not fit at all, depending on what exhaust you have. I have Borla S-Types and it fit...but the muffler shop had to weld new hangers on the mufflers and do some other adjustments to make it all fit. Cost me $150 to have them do the work and it looks good...but it's not a DIY job unless you're really good with exhaust and can weld.

Hitch works great. I had some trouble installing it because a spot-weld was protruding on the inside of the bumper. I would recommend testing the hitch position before threading the bolts into the frame. Put the bolts through the holes from the outside to make sure the hitch fits, then make any adjustments before fitting. The hitch has held up well though, and it should be an easy fit if no-one has spot-welded your bumper.

Looks great on my 2014 Mustang. I'm very pleased with the product.

It was definitely not as easy for me to install as it was for the guys in the installation video on YouTube.

It took me about 3 hours to install (with help from my wife). Fishing the guide wires for the bolts took forever. I finally had to make a tool (hook) to pull them through the tiny holes in the Mustang's frame.

Also my mufflers didn't fall down, out of the way, like the ones in the installation video. I ended up hitting the clamp with a mallet to break the seal between the muffler and the tailpipe. I'm hoping the exhaust system is sealed after bolting everything back together.

My advice to others is to take your product to a muffler shop have them install it. My local shop estimated $80 for the installation. It would be money well spent.

Reasonably fast shipping (5 days)...

by:

install was about 2 hours alone with a jack but my arms were killing me after. it is best to remove mufflers completely so the wire can be fished through easier. the hitch is nicely hidden.

Being a critic of welds, I chose CURT. Excellent powder coat job. Design caps the tube ends but still had weep hole. Thought went into design and it shows.

  • Will The Curt Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # C11210 Fit A 2011 Ford Mustang GT
As long as your Mustang is not a California Special, Shelby GT or a GT500 model, then yes, the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch, # C11210, will fit. No drilling is required to install and the exhaust must be temporarily lowered to raise the hitch into position. I have attached an installation video for you to check out. If you will be using the Curt hitch for non-trailer loads like a hitch bike rack then you will need to use a Curt Stabilizing Strap, # 18050. One end of the strap will attach...

  • 2013 Ford Mustang Hitch Options
If you have a 2013 Ford Mustang GT or Non GT convertible, you can use either the Draw-Tite # 24863 or the Curt # C11210. These will both give you the same capacity, but one I recommend more than the other. I recommend getting the Curt as it has a hidden cross tube. I don't like seeing the crosstube of hitch receivers on cars and especially on sports cars like yours. I highly recommend getting the Curt for that reason. For wiring, you can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Mustang GT
All of the hitches that are available for your 2012 Ford Mustang GT will install in basically the same place and they will not stick out too far. I attached a picture of the Curt Hitch # C11210 installed on a vehicle that is similar to yours for you to check out to give you an idea how it will look. Since we do not carry the 1Up USA bike racks I can not speak on their behalf to confirm to you that it will work with a Class I hitch. Realistically it should, but you will need to find out...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 1-1/4" Bike Rack on 2013 Ford Mustang Convertible
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11210 which is a fit for a 2013 Ford Mustang Convertible does not require a stability strap, just the bike rack will be fine. It has a class I rating with 1-1/4" opening so any bike rack with a 1-1/4" shank will work great. The trailer hitch features a bolt-on install. Please note, you won't need any sort of wiring harness if you're just using the trailer hitch for a bike rack, that's only for towing and in which case you could use the Curt T-Connector...

  • Recommended Ball Mount For 2012 Ford Mustang V6 Towing Trailer W/ 17" Coupler Height
Where we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11210 on a similar 2014 Ford Mustang V6 we found that from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver measured 10-1/2". As long as the tires on your 19" wheels are the same overall height as the factory tires on your Mustang, this measurement will be the same for your vehicle. I recommend the Curt Class I Drawbar - 5" Rise - 11-9/16" Long - 2,000 lbs # C45025 as this is the most rise available...

  • Availability of a 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying a Bike Rack With a 2013 Ford Mustang GT
Currently there are only 1-1/4" receivers like the Curt # C11210 which are custom fit for your 2013 Ford Mustang GT. Since you are not wanting to use an Adapter # e93YR you would need to have a custom hitch fabricated. It would likely be easiest to get the Curt and have a 2" Receiver # E-9 welded on. Do be sure to add gussets for additional strength to the receiver to secure it in place. Do note there is no way to give this type of custom receiver a specific weight rating and it would void...

  • Can 2014 Ford Mustang be Used to Tow Motorcycle Trailer
According to the online owner's manual for your 2014 Ford Mustang you can tow up to 1,000 lbs. So if you can find a trailer that weighs under 1,000 lbs with your motorcycle loaded you will be just fine. I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11210 on your Mustang because it has a collar around the receiver which can be used for more stability in certain applications. For wiring I recommend the T-One # 118487 because of how reliable we have found the Tekonsha wiring to be. Then...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Class I Hitch on 2013 Ford Mustang
If you're installing a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11210 then you will need a bike rack that can be used on Class I hitches. I recommend using the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64683 since it can be used in Class I hitches with 1-1/4" receivers and allows you to carry bikes that weigh up to 45-lbs each. I really like that this rack comes with locks for the bikes...

  • Is There a 2" Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Ford Mustang
The only trailer hitch options for a 2014 Ford Mustang are class I 1-1/4" like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11210 which is what I recommend. It can be adapted to a 2" using the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # HTAD but keep in mind this will reduce the weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50%.

  • Is the Yakima HoldUp Replacement Shank # 8880581 Compatible With Draw-Tite Receiver on 2014 Mustang
Normally the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24863 is the hitch receiver that I would recommend for your 2014 Ford Mustang, but since you are wanting to use the Yakima HoldUp with a 1-1/4 inch shank, like part # Y02445, you will need to go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11210 instead. Keep in mind that the Curt hitch receiver requires the use of a Support Strap # 18050 for all non-trailer loads per the Curt warranty. The reason that I recommend the Curt in this...

At this time we do not have a photo available of the Curt Hitch, # C11210, on a 2011 Mustang GT, but we do have a photo, see attached, of the hitch on a Shelby Convertible that should give you an idea of the look. The receiver portion of the hitch will be visible when installed. The rear fascia will conceal everything except the receiver. We currently have two hitch receivers available for your 2012 Ford Mustang V6. They are the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24863 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11210. As far as hitch installs go, you will not find many other vehicles with installation steps as easy as the Mustang's.
