I have a 2012 Mustang, V6. I would like to purchase a trailer hitch, 1 1/4inch receiver. Is one model easier to install than another? Thank you.

We currently have two hitch receivers available for your 2012 Ford Mustang V6. They are the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24863 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11210. As far as hitch installs go, you will not find many other vehicles with installation steps as easy as the Mustang's.
Both the Curt and Draw-Tite have similar installation procedures, making it hard to say one will be easier than the other, as it will be basically the same from each manufacturer. In order to install the hitch, you will first need to lower the exhaust by removing the rear isolator. Once done, you will need to loosen the rear exhaust clamp that will allow the muffler to hang freely. Then you will need to place the carriage bolts through the holes in the frame responsible for holding the hitch in place. You can then place the hitch into position and torque the nuts to hold it in place.
I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch as the Curt hitch will require a stabilizer strap like the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap part # 18050 for non-towing purposes whereas the Draw-Tite will not.
Fortunately, we have installation videos and instructions for both of these hitches on a similar 2013 Ford Mustang for your review.
