Probably could has packaged differently to protect its finish, will probably show rust quickly up here in the north east New York area .
Ordered the hitch Monday and it arrived Wednesday. A day earlier than expected. Talked to tammie at etrailer. She was great. I am 77 years old and I installed the myself in less than a hour. Very happy
Was an easy install on a 2021 Lincoln Corsair only had to enlarge the feed in holes.The receiver tube could be longer.
Great product. Fit was spot on and it looks terrific.

This fit my dad's 2020 Escape perfectly. Couldn't find one from the dealer so let my mouse do the hunting. Dad is 86 so we had a mechanic install it. Total cost was less than $300.00.
Saved me from dropping 30k on a truck!

Fabulous. No issues or problems. Install was easy. Recommend this place to anyone great trailer hitch.
I have purchased and installed several hitches from etrailer and they are first class, from ordering to great on line product installation help to terrific phone support for questions or technical help. However, the DT92RR doesn't quite properly fit my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The vertical wall exhaust clearance cut outs are too small and contact my exhaust pipes. I still managed to install the hitch but I have hard contact between the hitch and my exhaust. I recommend that etrailer take a closer look at this installation and make the cut outs at least 1/4" larger. I've always given 5 star ratings to etrailer, and this 2 star is only for the fit of this particular hitch.
Fit perfectly.
There are three significant problems with this hitch. First, the square washers are not the right size. They fit into the hole in the frame, and using the guide wires was easy, but they are too short, so they spin around in the frame when you are tightening the bolts. This is maddening, but it turned out it worked out because of the second problem--the hitch does NOT fit the exhaust of a 2020 Ford Escape. The pipes rub against the hitch cut out, and getting it in there took some engineering. It turned out it was easier to not lower the exhaust, since after the hitch was installed there was no way to get the pipes back in place. The only way we could figure out how to get it on was to bend the rubber boots holding the pipes to get the hitch into place on the bolts, and then let the pipes rub against the hitch. Whether this is a long term solution remains unknown. However, since the hitch was a bit twerked, we could get it to put pressure on the bolts so they would not spin when we tightened them. This was a very poor design and after 5 minutes to get the bolts into place using the wires, it took about 3 hours to finish the job. Not impressive. Then we got to the third problem, which is the bike rack doesn't fit into the hitch! The rack fits the other car's 1 1/4 hitch just fine, but it is a real pain to get the rack to fit this one. It seems the opening is just a bit small. Overall, this was a big disappointment. This is the 4th rack we have installed from etrailer, and the first that gave us any trouble. I would not recommend this product under any circumstances.
Very disappointed. The hardware kit only had three of the reiforcement triangles in the kit. I had to fabricate one, your quality control is very poor

The escape trailer hitch works. There was an issue with the box it was shipped in. The box did not fully protect the hitch during shipping so the hitch was damaged both times it was sent to me. The first time the hitch had fallen out of the box and was scraped up. It was returned and the second time it was sent to me the hitch was scraped up again, but instead of sending it back I just touched up the paint. The packaging that these heavier products are shipped in need to be more robust to protect what is inside them. This was not a positive experience for me when it comes to ordering something from etrailer in the future.
