Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" - C26HR

Average Customer Rating:  4.4 out of 5 stars   (29 Customer Reviews)

Was able to install with 1 person, used floor jack to support. Full size OEM spare fits for 18" tires - but tight fit - cant have a larger spare. less then 5 stars as the fit is a little short - should be 1/4" wider. Hitch does not meet metal to metal on the lower brackets, even with the spacers installed. The spacers are loose behind it because of the short length.

by:

Trailer is always good. Reasonable price, fast delivery. That's why I keep coming back

by:

Couldn’t be happier.

by:

I thought this would be a replacement of the stock receiver but it is designed to mount underneath the stock receiver which looks terrible and would most certainly reduce the departure angle for off-road use. I didn't install it and had to take a big loss selling it on FB because I waited too long to return it to E-trailer. A better option if your stock receiver is worn out is to buy an aftermarket bumper and a new receiver that will mount in the same place as the stock receiver. Live and learn.

2020 Ford F-150

Nice product; handles tongue weight’s that exceed the factory receiver. Super straight forward, easy install.

by:

Great product, price, shipping and customer service!

by:

The hitch is definitely heavy duty (also heavy) but it hangs about 6" down below the bumper. That would not be a problem except for dragging in rough terrain. The paper instructions were not too good but the video from etrailer cleared it all up.

by:

Fast service, went in fast and easy.

by:

Arived on time and easy installation. All parts fit with mo adjustments necessary

by:

Product as described. Just like other reviews have said, my box came destroyed too. Saving grace was the hardware was taped very well to the hitch. Good quality.

by:
2021 Ford F-150

Direction are not real clear. Maybe redo them. If possible make the bolts just a tad longer. Other than that great product.

by:

I have only been able to use it once for a hour and 45 minute drive and it was superb.

by:

Very easy to install! Solid built hitch and American made!!

2018 Ford F-150

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Ford F-150 for Towing 10k Trailer
For a 10,000 lb rated trailer hitch confirmed to fit your 2015 Ford F-150 without a factory hitch you would want the part # C26HR. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. You will need a brake controller to activate the brakes of your trailer. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller...

  • Hitch and Wiring Recommendation For 2019 Ford F-150 XLT
The 2019 Ford F-150 XLT with the hitch ball bumper would in fact need the hitch that fits the trucks without a factory hitch. Fords that are considered with factory hitch will have an actual receiver tube instead of the bumper with built in hitch ball mount. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class IV hitch part # C26HR is a great choice. It is rated for 1,000 lb tongue weight and does not require drilling for installation. It is also a concealed cross tube design so the only portion of the...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2018 Ford F-150 without Factory Hitch
For your 2018 Ford F-150 I recommend the Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver # C26HR because it has the highest weight capacities among the hitches available for your truck (10,000 towing and 1,000 tongue) and also features a nice hidden design where only the 2 inch receiver will be visible. It will use existing holes in the truck's frame for a no-drill installation and is made right here in the USA. I have attached an installation video on the 2018 F-150 that you can also use for reference.

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for 2019 Ford F150 With Factory Hitch
The Curt # C14021 which we sell as part # C26HR replaces the 14017. For your 2019 Ford F-150 with the factory hitch, the # C26HR is a confirmed fit. The hitch has a 10000 lb towing/1000 lb tongue weight capacity which increases to 12K/1.2K if weight distribution is used. I've linked to the installation instructions for you.

  • Compatibility of Trailer Hitch with 2018 Ford F-150 Max Towing Capacity
Unfortunately there is not a Class V hitch rated for over 12000 lbs towing from any of our manufacturers for your 2018 Ford F-150. The best hitch we currently offer # C26HR is rated for 12,000 lbs and 1200 lbs tongue weight when used with weight distribution and is made by Curt in the USA. Based on your specifications you must have the 3.5L GTDI V6 SuperCrew with 20 inch tires and wheels and the 3.55 axle ratio because that is the only option rated higher than this hitch. If so, unfortunately...

  • How Visible is Curt Hitch # C26HR When Installed on 2020 Ford F-150
I attached a couple pictures that show how well concealed the Curt hitch part # C26HR is when installed on a F-150 like your 2020 model. Basically only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper which allows it to be as hidden as possible! I also attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Towing Capacity of 2016 Ford F-150 with 5.0L Engine
I took a look at the online towing chart for your 2016 Ford F-150 and it lists a maximum trailer weight of 10,000 pounds for your F-150 model that is equipped with the 5.0L engine, 3:55 axle ratio, and 145 inch wheelbase. I do recommend verifying this information in your copy of the owner's manual or by checking with a local Ford dealer. To help you determine which wiring harness will work on your 2016 Ford F-150 you can look for the connector that's under the truck's bumper. If the connector is round and looks like it will match up with picture # 1 that I've attached then you can use # 74682 and plug it right in to give you both a 7-way and 4-way trailer connector. If you find a connector that is more rectangular like in picture # 2 then you can use # C56110 which will give you a 4-way connector. If this is the case...

  • High Capacity Trailer Hitch for 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor
The Curt hitch # C26HR is a great higher capacity trailer hitch for your 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor as it is rated for up to 10,000 lb trailer weight. This fits if you have the factory hitch which it sounds like you have. If you instead didn't have the factory hitch you would want the part # C14017 which has same weight capacity.

  • Will Multi-Fit Class IV Trailer Hitch Fit 2018 Ford F-150
We do not currently carry the Reese Towpower Multi-Fit Trailer Hitches so I cannot be sure if the particular Class IV hitch you are looking at will fit your 2018 Ford F-150. I will say though that multi-fit trailer hitches are going to require a much more involved installation process that will likely require drilling into the truck's frame or other vehicle modifications. For a Class IV hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford F-150 and won't require any drilling I recommend looking...

I do have a roof rack recommendation for you to carry your Gheenoe with your 2017 Ford F-150 but as far as weight capacity goes I couldn't find anything in the online version of your owner's manual. I recommend contacting your local Ford dealer for that information. For a roof rack I recommend the Rhino-Rack system which consists of the Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA150B-2, 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA, and DK Fit Kit # DK427. Comparing your rear bumper with the stock one on the 2016 Ford F-150 it is hard to tell if yours hangs down any further than the stock bumper. If it does not hang lower then you will be able to use a trailer hitch. If it does hang lower then the bumper would have to be modified or replaced to install a hitch such as # C26HR.

According to my research you want to avoid removing the factory trailer hitch on your 2018 Ford F-150 because it's a little more integrated than an aftermarket hitch.
