Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Ford F-150 for Towing 10k Trailer
Question:
I have a 2015 F150 4x4 XLT. I am looking for a hitch to two my travel trailer. The trailer and any extras will weigh just under 10,000lbs.. Can you recommend one for me?

For a 10,000 lb rated trailer hitch confirmed to fit your 2015 Ford F-150 without a factory hitch you would want the part # C26HR. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
You will need a brake controller to activate the brakes of your trailer. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
All you need to install it is the part # 22292 which will attach it to the harness under the dash of your truck.
You also are going to want a weight distribution system since the weight of your trailer is going to be quite a bit relative to the towing capacity of your truck.
For a 10k trailer your tongue weight would be between 1,000 and 1,500 lbs loaded so you would want the # RP66131 and the shank # RP54970. Plus a hitch ball # 63836.
You really need to check your truck's owners manual to determine if you have the towing capacity for such a heavy trailer with your truck.
