2018 Ram 1500

Before I installed this tow hitch, I looked at the video and wanted to see how it was mounted. the video looked it would be easy and I wouldn't have any problems, but I did. The tow hitch wasn't aligned right, so I needed to use a hammer to get this into place. I also needed to use a clamp to help bend the tow hitch, but the hole of one did not match correctly. Finally, I needed to use a metal wedge to get it into place. I was so disappointed that this did not go smoothly as the video claimed. I would also recommend that the company submit 4 wires to help keep the bolts from going back into the truck chassis.

The hitch is incredible, however the best part of this deal was the customer service provided by Becky

Great fit and finish on this Curt Class 5 hitch. Bolted up to my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic no problem and replaced my older Curt Class 3 hitch receiver. Fishing the bolts was a breeze, the hardest thing about the install was doing it by myself. Here's a tip to get the bolts started when working solo: fish the bolts through the frame in the very back of the truck (the ones that go in horizontal) and put some low profile vice grips on each to keep them in place. Lift the hitch into position and slide over bolts. Get the nuts started on each side, then remove the two pairs of vice grips and sink them down a little more. Now the hitch will hold itself in place so you can get started on the remaining bolts. Hope this helps those who are working solo!

I have ordered twice from etrailer.com both order arrived fast on time and In prefect condition I am excited to install this hitch on my son Ram 1500 great product, great price, outstanding staff

2017 Ram 1500

Put the hitch on, no problems. Took an hour and a half. The hitch was well engineered and fit in tight spaces and the bolt holes matched up. Used my motorcycle jack to put it in place but lacked about 2" of going high enough so had to get the floor jack out to move it one side at a time enough to get the bolts in.

I work for a Plumbing company with 20 fleet trucks. All we purchase are etrailer hitches and receivers. Been a very good product for us.

by:

I put this on a 2020 Ram 1500 classic 4x4. The fit was perfect. Instructions could be better but if you have any questions there are some good YouTube videos to watch. I am 73 and did this by myself using a motorcycle lift and some blocks. It would definitely be easier with two people. etrailer was on this fast and got my order out the door in a hurry. They get 5 stars for that. UPS not so much. How can UPS drivers want a raise, make over $[XX] a year but can't deliver "ANY" package without some kind of damage. My box was tore up. The hitch had a couple of minor scratches but no real structural damage of any kind. Curt could also do some improvements on the packaging of their products. When you put steel in cardboard with no padding the steel will always win. But all in all I am very happy with etrailer's service and the fitment of the Curt hitch.

Just what we were wanting, easy install and sturdy.

I would say this is a top of the line add on hitch and it has been tested and just like we thought it is built to take care of the heavy loads day in and out. We will equip our next truck the same way.

All the products from this order have held up to the abuse ive put them through. Unfortunately/ Fortunately last month i acquired a new ram 2500, and will be buying new accessories from etrailer soon! Your customer service is great and prices are even better!!

by:

This product arrived in great shape and on time. I had it installed in about 40 minutes with minimal help from my wife to just hold one side up while I started the two frame bolts. The video on how to put this on is awesome. It will definitely serve its purpose for years to come. Can't beat the prices or the product. Thank you

2018 Dodge Ram Pickup

I ordered Class V hitch C15572 for my 2018 RAM Sport Night edition 4x4 from etrailer.com. The item was delivered on time and the shipping was free. I watched the suggested installation video and a friend and I got it installed in under an hour.

All the holes lined up perfectly and everything was flush. This hitch is 60+ pounds, so make sure you have extra hands to hold it in place while bolting it up. The only small issue was there were some scratches on the hitch that were covered with brown paper. Not a big deal - it's a hitch!

I would recommend this hitch and eTrailer to anyone. My friend wants to order one for his RAM Truck!

2018 Dodge Ram Pickup

Thank you etrailer for the prompt service and a great price. I ordered the Curt trailer hitch #C15572 for my 2018 Ram 1500 at 9:20 pm Friday night and got a email saying it had shipped at 10:15 pm that same night. Received it on the day (the following Wednesday) they said it would arrive but way earlier in the day. I read a lot of reviews before I ordered and some shipments may have been handled ruff and some people said the hitch was bent and hard to install. My shipment came and the cardboard box had a few small rips but upon inspection the hitch seemed fine. It is pretty heavy and the box seems a little weak for such a item but all hardware is well taped to the hitch and was intact on arrival. On reading the reviews one person mentioned using their floor jack and a slide in receiver for holding the hitch up and since I was going to be installing this myself I tried this out. As you can see in my pictures it works pretty well if you a jack you can bolt it too or clamp it too as in my case. The hitch only needed slight prying to line up the factory M12 bolts in the frame and the fishing wires made the job so much easier with the rest of the bolts. I am now ready to tow with confidence, thanks again for the great service.

Fit Like a Glove, Did the install by my self with a floor jack. Would be easier with another person. Would recommend this hitch if you have a RAM 1500 Classic.

by:
2016 Ram 1500

The hitch is great quality, and easy to install. However, it’s worth noting that on the Ram 1500 Rebel (and maybe other Trim packages as well) the bumper mounts to a bracket welded to the OEM hitch. You will have to salvage those brackets or make new brackets in order to mount the bumper back

by:
2015 Ram 1500

Did it myself with help from my S.O. (Denise). As with any "diy" project, the install did not go smoothly but the product was not at fault! My RAM 1500 is 5yrs old & fortunately I've never needed the spare (so the 1st step: removing the spare became a THANG! The cable lock was completely frozen and required a good WD40 soak to free-up. Glad I was in my garage to do this and not stuck on the side of I35!!) As for the hitch it was delivered in 4-days. So far so good!

by:

This is a sturdy hitch. Working alone on my back, it was a real challenge to maneuver it into place and bolted down. There was some trial and error but it took just a few minutes once I found a way around my arthritic shoulder. For once my rather large gut proved to be quite handy.

2014 Dodge Ram Pickup

I was pleasantly suprised when the reciever was delivered 3 days after ordering. The box was undamaged in contrast to many other reviewers. I was happy that the kit came with 2 fishing wires so that my partner and i were able to work on each side simultaneously. Everything fit perfectly and took about 20 minutes. It actually took longer to retrieve the tools from the truck to drop and lowere the spare tire. Will definatley order more products from Curt and from etrailer.com

Great receiver hitch with a great flat color finish! I highly recommend this curt receiver hitch! It also fits great with no drilling required. Install time for me was about 45 minutes was pretty simple with good instructions. Also I highly recommended ordering from etrailer. Great fast free delivery from etrailer. I received my product in 2 days!

by:

Can't believe how easy it was to install. Laying on my back with a friend taking our time 1 1/2 hours. As far as threading the bolts and big washers thru the tube frame was actually very impressive idea, worked great just relax and let it happen. Take the spare off, it goes right back on just get it out of the way.

by:

Shipping time great, price fantastic. Quality Curt product. It took me longer to drop my spare tire down than it did to install the hitch. About 35mins. I've purchased several thins from etrailer, always 5 stars, thanks.

The trailer hitch fit exactly like it was supposed to. It was easy to install. And the hitch got to my house quickly after I ordeded it. A great experience all around.

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and Rockwood Roo Trailer
So it looks like you will be towing about 7,200 pounds if the trailer was loaded to the maximum. That is within the capabilities of the truck as you have described it. The tongue weight on the trailer will probably be closer to 20 percent rather than the typical 10 to 15 percent. That would put the tongue weight of the trailer at 1,440 pounds. You will need to move some of the weight back to lower the tongue weight of the trailer unless the vehicle and hitch have a tongue weight capacity...

  • Will a 2011 Ram 1500 with 4.7L Engine Tow 6000lb Fifth Wheel
Without knowing the bed length, which rear gears, trim level, whether the truck is 4x4 or 4x2 and the cab configuration, I wouldn't be able to provide a hard and fast maximum towing capacity because there's too many variables involved, but in my research, the lowest towing capacity I found for a 2011 Ram with the 4.7L V8 engine was 6950 lbs for a Crew Cab 4x4 SLT/TRX/Big Horn/Lone Star edition with Ramboxes. So, worst case scenario that would be your maximum. Your truck should be able...

The bolt that runs through the bumper and connects to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13333 to the bumper is an integral component to ensure that it's properly mounted and can fully support weight within its capacities. If you don't have the slot for this bolt then you would need to switch to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15572 instead, which would mount directly to the frame of your Ram.

The Curt Class V Hitch, # C15409, that you referenced is for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and will not fit on your 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The Curt Class V Hitch, # C15572, is the Class V hitch that we carry for your truck, however, it will not fit on your truck if you have a factory installed hitch. • Will 5th Wheel or Bumper Pull Trailer Be Better for 2012 Dodge Ram 1500
With your 2012 Ram 1500 I would definitely steer towards a standard bumper pull trailer. Generally speaking, 1/2 ton trucks just aren't really built to pull a 5th wheel trailer, as they are typically heavier and will put more stress on the rear axle due to their pin weights. The standard towing capacity for your 1500 would require you to limit your choices to only the smallest 5th wheel trailers, while your options would be much more plentiful with standard bumper pull campers. Yes, you can remove the OEM Class IV receiver from your 2013 Ram 1500. If it is just bolted on then you should be able to do it yourself, but you might have to move a few other things under your Ram depending on how the hitch installs. If it is welded on then you will need to get a professional to cut the welds for you. The Class V Curt Hitch # C15572 that you referenced will be a great upgrade on your Ram 1500.
