etrailer Thanks for an Awesome product. Shipping & deliverly were quick! Hitch was well made & packaged well. Fine craftsmanship - robotic welds were flawless which made hitch line up & was perfect fit on our 2007 Murano. Supplied bolts worked well. Only thing I would suggest is throw in couple metric taps to clean threads to make install eaiser & not have to run searching all over city for metric taps Lol.. We have used it for over year now to carry our E Bikes & explore nature where our motorcycles can't go & get some physical exercise at same time. We are very Happy no complaints.

E-Trailer...thanks for such a wonderful product..I just finished with the install of my new hitch receiver for the Nissan Murano..I did install a new muffler at the same time so the install was a snap. The shipping time was quick...very happy.

Hello and just a brief follow up on the trailer hitch for the 2007 Nissan murano... I did retorque the bolts only one time...just my cautious nature and did pull several trailers with no problems at all..as you can tell by the pics...only basic tools were needed...thanks for a wonder product.

by:
2006 Nissan Murano

My problem was that the bolt holes in the frame were rusty, and it took two an a half days to get them to accept bolts.. I never lowered my exhaust like they mentioned in the instructions, I couldn't get a wrench or socket on the bolts holding the exhaust on the right side, due to all the rust.. I used picks to clean out the holes enough to get a tap started, I had to run a tap through each hole.. I was able to slide the trailer hitch receiver over the exhaust, I had to insert a pipe in the drivers side exhaust and push down so that the hitch slipped into place.. The trailer hitch receiver fit like a glove, very impressed.. I put in the bolts, had to use a crow foot wrench to torque bolts..

2003 Nissan Murano

I installed this hitch and curt electrical wire kit today. it took me and my wife about 3 hours to finish it. it was not that difficult, but it took time , as I had to remove tie down hook, etc. I removed muffler completely, I found it is easier to install the hitch with muffler completely removed.
I moved rubber muffler hanger, 2 on driver side, and 2 bolts connect muffler to pipe to catalytic converter ( circle in red in picture ).
it was easy to remove muffler.
removing bolt of tie down hook require cheater's bar , since it was tight.
I did this without lifting car, just require good socket wrench, hold muffler using floor jack while removing it. I used $15 harbour freight 1/2 drive torque wrench to tighten bolts to specification on manual. I used silicone spray oil to make rubber parts holding muffler loose, and make it easy to slight.

2007 Nissan Murano

Very happy with quick delivery, price and ease of installation. Did not have to drop the exhaust system to install so 5 bolts and 20 minutes later my hitch was installed.

by:

Hitch came in pretty quick! The side with the three holes was bends inwards, so the it didn't align properly (See pic). Few swings of a sledgehammer and got it straightened out! Fit fine after that.

by:

Great fit, easy install. No issues recommend buy

by:

So far so good on installation. A previous review said that you do not have to take down the muffler and they where right!! I removed the 4 bolts on the tie down holder, sprayed all the nut holes with WD-40 and ran a small brush to remove any debris if there where any. I also made sure that the new bolts would easily finger screw into the nuts. I did this by myself and used my 2 ton jack to hold the hitch in place. I found out the hard way that in shipping , one of the flanges was bent, as I could not get two of the 3 bolts on drivers side to screw in. I gave up that night and got a good nights rest and tackled it the next morning. Not so bad unscrewing the bolts. Straightened the flange and reinstalled hitch. All bolts are accessible to use with a ratchet wrench. The installation of the wiring took longer than installing the hitch. Not bad for 71 year old guy.

Works great. Especially the pre-wired plug-in cable for trailer lights.

by:

Rec'd the package in good time - thanks for the quick delivery. Instructions clear but am having a terrible time trying to get the bolts to screw into existing pre-welded nuts on the frame. Spent a couple hours and some skin on it earlier today. Am taking it to a friend who have some pneumatic tools tonight will report back. Could use some help figuring out how to remove tail-light assemblies for adding the wiring for trailer lights.

We have a couple of videos of wiring installs on Muranos that may help you with getting the tail lights off. If you have any questions, let us know.

Nissan Murano

The hitch was poorly packaged so the mounts got tweaked during shipping. I had to hammer it back into alignment before installation. Be sure to test align all the holes before you start to thread the bolts. The factory bolt holes were rusted out on my Nissan Murano. I bought a Helicoil kit to restore the bolt holes. That added about two hours and $45 to the installation. I had to remove my muffler for installation. It was rusted to the tail pipe, so I had to cut it free. This added another 2 hours and $12 to the installation. The install took a full day. This is a sturdy and attractive receiver once it is installed.

by:

The products showed up in the time-frame that I had expected. They were exactly packaged as I had hoped, excellent. The online videos that Etrailer had provided about installation of the tow hitch receiver were detailed and spot-on accurate. I am very happy with the prices of the items. A very good company to purchase from regarding these type of vehicle add-ons.

2007 Nissan Murano

Our new Curt hitch is awesome. It fits perfect on our '07 Murano and was easy to install. It took about an hour and I did not have to purchase any tools to complete the install. The installation video was very helpful as I did need it for reference. We use it only to transport our bikes from home to parks, but it holds up well and looks great when doing so. Thanks to etrailer.com we got a great hitch at a great price as well as received it in a very timely manner.

by:
2006 Nissan Murano

The hitch was packaged very well and came undamaged. All of the bolts holes lined up except the hole for the smallest bolt on the driver's side. It's not clear that the small bolt is even needed since there are two large bolts on each side of the hitch? I had to widen the hole in the hitch slightly to get that small bolt into the frame. I was able to mount the hitch without dropping down the exhaust as other reviewers had noted. The only problem is that it's a tight fit to get the final torqueing on the bolts but it can be done with a good set of wrenches/sockets. One of the bolt holes in the frame had rusty threads so I had to clean out the threads using P B Blaster and a battery terminal wire brush. If you live up north where there is lots of road salt, make sure you clean out those rusty threads first. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that stupid hole didn't line up correctly.

2004 Nissan Murano

Can’t complain about nothing. I received the package with in a week. Woke up around 7am on a Saturday and disassembled the minimum amount required. I had to do little cold working & pulling from what I expect was the shipping handling stress put on the assembly, but yeah other than it fit like like glove.

Note : I grabbed my wife and she held one end in place while I mounted the other side.

Receiver was a perfect fit to my '06 Murano. Only issue was with the rusted mounting in the frame on my car. Supplied bolts worked great otherwise.

On older vehicles, rust and debris may build up around the weld nuts making it difficult to install the hitch bolts. Letting lubricate sit on it overnight then doing some heavy cleaning with a wire brush is the solution. Here are some more tips:

2010 Nissan Murano

This was a little tough for me to install on my Murano. I have an '05 SL and with being a 10 year car, the bolts that I needed to take off and lower the exhaust were badly rusted. And holeswhere the hitch bolts attach were very rusted and corroded as well. In short I had to cut the muffler off to attach the hitch receiver. I towed my first trailer 11/23/2014 and I have no complaints. As for my muffler, meh, i will just buy a new one. No big deal. The videos helpd a great deal for installation. Good Job!!!

2006 Nissan Murano

I hardy ever write reviews, but I’m very happy with this product, the value for the money spent has been fantastic! I’ve already referred etrailer.com to a few other people who have mentioned aftermarket hitches! Thanks guys!

by:
2012 Nissan Murano

The hitch was delivered within two days and was perfectly packaged. The fit of the hitch itself is perfect although I would caution anyone who does the installation themselves on a Murano that is several years old that you will require a 12 mm fine thread tap since the pre-threaded holes are full of grime and rust. Without first cleaning out the holes with a tap there is no way to get the screw in the holes.
I've since ordered a 5 bike hitch carrier from e-trailer which also arrived within 48 hours and works great.

by:

The hitch is perfect. everything i needed to install it came with it and the videos on the etrailer.com site were very helpful when installing the wiring. The install was a little rough, but that was the car's fault not the hitch's! Showed up on time with no damage. no complaints!

by:
2007 Nissan Murano

I was very impressed with how knowledgeable, friendly and fast the customer service staff is. Very impressive. The parts arrived quickly, and the video tutorials were extremely helpful. I'm not much of a mechanic, but the hitch/electrical install on my 2007 Murano went really smoothly. etrailer.com is awesome!

Trailer hitch was sprung a little during transit. Customer service was excellent in helping me figure it out. I didn't have to lower the exhaust system for install. The curt t wiring harness made the wiring easier. Can be done by any DIY person.
So far an excellent product.

The video installation demonstrations were clear and perfect. I installed the unit in an afternoon with no difficulties.
