We have a 2020 Chevy 2500 short bed. We pull a fifth camper and didn't want to risk damage to either in tight back in situation. This gave us exactly what we needed. We haven't tried 90 degrees yet but we've had plenty of room so far and it's very secure. There's no rattling. Very happy with the product and customer service.

We cannot Thank Hannah enough for her awesome customer service. We had a problem with our order and she was able to get our hitch to us in time for our trip! She is a valuable asset to your team and we will definitely continue to do business with this company.

Great purchase, ride is still great and it shifted my trailer back. I have a 2020 GMC 2500 crewcab. I can turn 90 degrees on flat ground.

Would’ve been 5 star but it came with no instructions in box. Luckily I found a video that told what to torque nuts down to. Very easy install.

  • Option For Replacing The Lippert Trailair Turning Point Pin Box
We do have a potential option for you, but we do not offer a direct replacement for the Lippert Trailair Turning Point Pin Box. This pin box has a specific bolt pattern that only has one replacement so far, the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY48GR. Outside of the Gen-Y gooseneck adapter, there is not aftermarket replacement available that will match the Turning Point bolt pattern. This is a gooseneck adapter though, so you'd have to switch out your fifth wheel...

  • Will a Reese Goose Box Work w/ the GEN-Y Goosepuck 5" Offset Ball On a 2022 Sierra 3500 Puck System?
Yes, it will. The Reese Goose Box item # RP85FR will work with the GEN-Y Goosepuck 5" Offset Ball item # GY55XR on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. Since your Sierra has the shorter 6-3/4' bed I recommend using it. I attached a picture below so you can see the offset ball being used. It's got Gen-Y's gooseneck adapter instead of the Reese but it'll give you an idea of how it's set up. If you don't already have them you will also need the Reese Safety Chain Kit item # RP49151 and Safety Chain...

  • Troubleshooting the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for GM OEM Puck Systems
Welcome back! If you're not seeing any visual defects in the gooseneck ball portion of the Gen-Y Gooseneck Hitch item # GY55XR then it just needs to be broken in. It'll loosen up once this happens and you won't have to worry about it getting stuck. It does require lubrication though so I would throw some white lithium grease like item # L11354 into the gooseneck hole. Additionally, if there is excess paint in your Silverado's gooseneck hole you'll want to clean all of that off. The tolerances...

  • Recommended Offset Gooseneck Hitch Ball for the 2020 and Newer GM Factory Puck System
Yes, it will since your truck is a 2022! The 5" Offset Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # GY55XR is designed to work in the 2020 and newer Silverado and Sierra's with the GM factory puck system. It will push the connection point for the gooseball and your cattle trailer back 5" towards your tailgate. This adapter has a 25,000 lbs capacity. I have attached a dimensional diagram of the 5" Offset Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # GY55XR below along with a picture of it being...

  • Is There an Offset Gooseneck Ball For 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 Factory Gooseneck
Hi Kaitlin, thanks for the question and there is a 5 inch offset that you can use with the factory gooseneck of your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500. It's from Gen-Y and the correct one will depend on if you have the long, 8' bed or short bed: - Short Bed: Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for GM OEM Puck Systems - 5" Offset # GY55XR - Long Bed: Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for GM OEM Puck Systems - 5" Offset # GY73XR These have a 25,000 lb capacity and attach really easily, inserting...

  • Safety Chain Loops for Gen-Y Hitch Offset Gooseneck Trailer Hitch on 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 Short Bed
You definitely need safety chain loops when using the Gen-Y Hitch Offset Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # GY55XR with the OEM puck system on your short bed 2023 GMC Sierra 3500, and for that I recommend the following: - Curt Safety Chain Loops # C60691 These install in the 2 remaining pucks and give you those connections for a safe towing experience.

  • Will 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 Short Bed Work With Gen-Y Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box
Since you're talking about an offset ball and don't want a slider it sounds like you have the 2024 Sierra 3500 short bed. Even with the offset you aren't going to be able to make a full 90 degree turn. I'm also not sure what your truck setup is like. Assuming you have the prep package you could use a 5" offset ball with the Gen-Y # GY55XR to get the best clearance. To truly find how much clearance you will have you can use the formula below: (A + B) - C = Clearance A = Distance from center...

  • Will I Have Turning Clearance Issues Using The Gen-Y Gooseneck Pin Box On Short Bed Silverado 2500?
The best way to prevent any clearance issues with your 2022 KZ Durango Gold G356RLQ and your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with 6-1/2' bed and factory puck system is by using the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM79GV. This hitch slides back and gives you up to 14" of additional clearance when performing a jackknife turn. The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY38FR measures 16.9" from front mounting holes to center of hitch ball. A regular 1621 pin box this...

  • Recommended Offset Gooseneck Ball for a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 w/ the Factory Puck System
You're welcome Mike! The Reese Goose Box item # RP85FR is not going to help you with your turning clearance. Since your Sierra has the shorter 6-3/4' bed and the puck system, I highly recommend using the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # GY55XR you referenced.
