Option For Replacing The Lippert Trailair Turning Point Pin Box

Question:

I have the Lippert Trailair Turning Point Pin Box, and sheared the bolt which held the wedge in place. What is the recommended replacement for this pin box?

We do have a potential option for you, but we do not offer a direct replacement for the Lippert Trailair Turning Point Pin Box. This pin box has a specific bolt pattern that only has one replacement so far, the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY48GR. Outside of the Gen-Y gooseneck adapter, there is not aftermarket replacement available that will match the Turning Point bolt pattern. This is a gooseneck adapter though, so you'd have to switch out your fifth wheel hitch for a gooseneck ball for this to work.

Since your truck already has the OEM puck system, you could use something like the Curt # C60692 for a gooseneck ball. Or you have the option of using an offset gooseneck ball # GY55XR which can help with turning clearance on short bed trucks. Since the Gen-Y goosebox is not a turning point pin box, and additional clearance you can gain will help.
