dimensional diagram

This adjustable ball mount has a maximum capacity of 36,000 lbs, making it ideal for heavy-duty towing. The solid steel construction is strong enough to handle large trailers and heavy cargo, and the matte powder coat finish will protect the ball mount from rust and corrosion, even after repeated use. The BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount gives you the strength you need to tow your big loads. And its durable, long-lasting construction can stand the test of time.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Because of its sturdy steel construction, this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount can handle loads up to 36,000 lbs, making it perfect for heavy-duty towing jobs.

ED2510 channel

The adjustable channel is made of 5/16" thick, laser-cut steel plates. These steel plates can handle high capacities without bending. And because of the laser cutting, the channel plates have consistently sized pin holes, so you can easily remove or reposition the hitch ball platform.

ED2510 gusset

A 1/2" thick steel gusset is welded between the shank and the channel, bracing the mount and keeping the channel from bending, even at the maximum drop or rise.

bulletproof 2.5 shank

The solid steel shank is CNC -chamfered, making it easy to slide the shank into and out of your hitch receiver. And with no sharp edges on the shank, the powder coating is less likely to chip and peel.

bulletproof hitches ball platform

Each adjustable mount includes a 2-ball platform, which fits in the adjustable channel. The 2 hitch balls are welded onto the solid steel platform for maximum strength and stability.

bulletproof hitches pins and clips

Finally, the pins and clips included with the ball mount are made of heat-treated steel to withstand the heavy weight from your load. The nickel undercoat with zinc topcoat provides corrosion resistance and ensures the strength of the pin.

Setting Up the BulletProof Ball Mount

To set up this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount, insert the 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" shank into your hitch's receiver. Slide the 2-ball platform into the adjustable channel, then use the included pins and clips to secure the platform at the height you need. If you need to switch hitch balls, just remove the pins and clips, flip the ball platform over, and reinsert the pins and clips to secure the balls in place. It's that easy.

Because of this mount's significant drop, it's recommended that you install a stabilizer kit (358stabilizerbars - sold separately) to prevent any wobbling and to remove strain from your hitch receiver.

BulletProof Ball Mount Accessories

This BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount is compatible with a wide variety of accessories (sold separately). Instead of using the included ball to tow, you can install a weight distribution shank (358WEIGHTDIST) in the channel of the mount to attach your weight distribution system. Add a clevis (358CLEVIS) or shackle attachment (358EDSA) for off-road or recovery operations. Or simply add a hitch step (358STEP) to easily access your truck bed.

Video Transcript for BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount Review ED2510

A.J.: What's up, everybody It's A.J. with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to check out this ball mount from BulletProof hitches. Now, this is the extreme version, so it's going to have the highest weight capacity of all the BulletProof hitches. They're all built heavy-duty. All the different lines of them are, but this one just going to have the highest weight capacity.

But the good thing about it is sometimes when you get one of those heavier dutier ball mounts, it doesn't give you much customization. You can't do much with it, you're stuck with what it's got. You can get this in a variety of different drops, so you can fix the drop for whatever trailer you need to hook it up to. Or you can bring it up here to adjust to another trailer you're carrying. So if you have multiple trailers, you can move this up and down.

You can add accessories to this. Let's check it out.Now I did mention, this is the extreme version of what BulletProof offers. You can usually fit their ball mounts in three different categories. You got medium-duty, heavy-duty, and extreme duty. This is extreme duty, and so this is going to have the highest weight capacity they offer if you're using the 2-5/16" ball.

So, that's going to be about 36,000 pounds. Now, if you flip this around and you decide to use the 2" ball, that's going to drop it down to 12,000 pounds. But, no matter which one you use, it's going to have a tongue rating of 6,000 pounds. Now the extreme BulletProof ball mount comes in a couple of different varieties. First off, you can look at your hitch and which one do you have It comes in 2-1/2" or 3" hitches. Also, how much of a rise or drop do you need It can go as little as a 4" drop or as much as a 12" drop.

It just really depends on your truck and trailer combination. You can have the same truck that's right behind me, but yours might be raised up a little bit more or lowered a little bit down more, and you just need that rise or drop for whatever trailer you're pulling behind it. Either way, it's going to have the same weight capacity and tongue capacity, so you won't have to sacrifice any of that. The extreme ball mount is the only one that BulletProof offers that has the offset option. So you can get that one that has a 4" rise and a 6" drop, or you can flip around, and it switches it up. That way it's got some up here and down here. It's not all low hanging like that. You don't have to flip the ball mount. When you need it you can just adjust it a little bit higher depending on what you need. All that information is great, but how hard is it to use Well, the pins are really easy. You just pull the clip on this side. Slide the pin out. There's going to be two of them. Then it's removed. You can flip it over if you want to use the 2". or a 2" ball, sorry. You can do it that way. Leave it in as is, and you just want to adjust the height and give it more of a rise. We can move it all the way up there. Slide the pin right through. The holes are 2" apart and they're cut really well. So sometimes it's kind of a pain with these pins. They don't always go in the holes like they're supposed to, as you kind of have to work them in. These slide right in on the first try no issues at all. I really like that part. That and these clips that go into the pins are out of the way. So you don't have to worry about hitting your hand on anything. I don't know if you've ever done it back here by the hitch. You can always pull something and hit your hand, and that's a pain. This way, there's no issues. You can easily see the holes or replace the clips. They really did a good job there. Now looking at the hitch up here, you can see it doesn't actually come with a pin to attach it to your hitch. This is an add-on lock from BulletProof, which I recommend. It's a good idea. It locks the ball mount to the hitch, and you can also get this in three different kits. You can get just one, you get two, or you can get three. Now if you get three, you can have one in the hitch pin that locks the ball mount to the hitch. And then you can also slide them in here and lock the ball to the ball mount. That way nobody's taking this out, and nobody's taking this out. So nobody's messing with it.Just for a frame of reference, we are using the 10" drop today. So this is the second biggest one that they offer for the extreme version. So, that's just putting that in perspective, how it looks on this truck, or how it's going to look on yours. Something I want to point out is the shank has two holes in it. That's because the shank is so long, and it's not a hollow shank. It's a solid steel shank that goes all the way in the hitch. So you can line up whatever hole works best for you. I recommend using the one closest to the ball like this one. That way, more of the shank is in the hitch. That way it just going to be way more durable when you're using it to tow. So slide it in as of the first one, align the second one. That way there's plenty of it in there. You're not going to have any issues. The solid steel shank and the whole thing is just heavy-duty. It's made for heavy-duty applications. Our customers even say in the reviews, they liked that when they pulled it out of the box, you could tell just by the weight of it and looking at it that it was built for heavy-duty. You also have the gusset back here that just further helps that and that support. So, even if you use it in the lowest drop, if you have the 12" one all the way down here with the ball, it still got that support back here that angles it and just keeps it all strong, and you're not going to have to worry about it failing on you while you're going down the road. It's going to hold up for a really long time. Even, if you look over here where you slide the ball up and down, these ends are pretty thick right here. You don't have to worry about them bending over time or have any issues. The pins themselves are nice. They're thick too. They're heavy-duty. You don't have to worry about them breaking off or anything like that. They're easy to slide in. I think it's going to work for you a really long time. The other thing I really like is they made it customizable. So yeah, you're buying this right now for a specific trailer you have, but what if you get a new trailer or something else down the line, and you have to buy a whole new ball mount They thought of that, and you can buy a bunch of different accessories to kind of change it up. So if you don't need the ball, and you want to use like clevis Attachment, you can do that. Pintle Attachment, you can get that, and put that on there too. You can actually add a step to the very top of it. It would go in these holes to help you step into the back of your truck. So there's a bunch of different accessories you should check out on our website that offers to kind of change up with the ball mount, you can use it for. Which is good, that means you can continue using it for as long as you need it, and always change it up for whatever new toys you get.I talked about some of the different extreme, medium, and heavy-duty ones. I had a conversation with the rider earlier day, and we kind of go over all of them, you should check it out.So me and Jay over the last couple of days have been working on a BulletProof hitch ball mounts, and we have them laid out here. They're in three different categories. They come in a bunch of different drops and all that and different hitches, but we grouped it up in the main categories. We have the medium one. It's over here. There's going to be the heavy-duty one and then we have two different versions of the extreme one. So, those are the main categories that these come in. Do you know anything about these Would you have any thoughts on them so farLindsey: What do you mean when you split them into. I mean, I have an idea of what you mean, but when you split out the extreme. What is extreme-duty I feel like we know heavy and heavy-duty, but when you say extreme-duty, is that more for the vehicle you're using, for the trailer you're using or just the kind of crosstalk 00:06:52 extreme person and you want the bestA.J.: Yeah. It's the highest weight capacity, is what we figured out when going through them. I think they just didn't want to call it light-duty, medium-duty, heavy-duty. So they said medium, heavy, extreme. And extreme sounds cool. Let's be honest. Yeah. So, that's going to be your heavier weight capacity and heavier tongue weight. I think they have the biggest drops and rises too. Jay: I think that, at least on our site, the heavy-duty right there had the biggest drop, which is 16". And then all the extreme-duty, the highest they went up to was 12" drop, which is what that guy right there is. It's huge. A.J.: Yeah, we put it on the truck it touched the ground, so it doesn't work on this vehicle. We have to get Jay's truck. Lindsey: Yeah. So you're going to need something, or you'll have something lifted for sure. A.J.: Oh yeah. Speaker 4: So someone who's looking for the extreme-duty is someone who. I'm pretty sure that we have one in a 3" hitch receiver. So basically they have the, they want the absolute highest capacity to tow pretty much whatever they can find. A.J.: Right. Jay: And that's one thing why the extreme we have it separated into two categories here. For all the other ones, like the heavy-duty it comes in a 2", a 2-1/2" and a 3" variant, and the weight capacity is the same across all of them. Whereas the extreme, the 2" version is rated up to a max of 30,000 for the gross towing weight. And then the 2-1/2" and the 3" version of the extreme is 36,000. So you get a little bump in weight capacity with that one. Lindsey: Though there's probably not going to be the option to actually go that high with your truck crosstalk 00:08:49Jay: Yeah. So if it's one thing we we're kind of pointing out in the video is, just because it's the rated of the high doesn't mean you can magically tow that much. A.J.: Tried to make it very clear. Lindsey: So I think one of the things about these being rated that high, obviously one thing is, yeah, you can tow as much as you want, if the rest of your setup is capable of doing that. But I would say it's also just showing the quality. So if we've tested this to 36 K, you know that this thing is going to last, and it's going to be sturdy. And it's probably not going to rattle as much. I think you can trust it more, or it feels at least like you can trust it more. Is that the impression you got playing around with it too They're heavy. So are they really heavy-duty tooA.J.: Even the customers on the website we're saying how impressed they we're just open them, pull them out of the box, and how heavy-duty they feel. They're super heavy-duty. I don't have any doubt they can handle everything they say they can. Even the solid shank on them. Shows me that all sides are steel here. So you're not going to have any issues with this thing when you go to use it the tow. That and then the gussets on the back. That's what this part is called. It adds more strength all the way down, so wherever you put the ball mount. If you're using lowest drop or the highest high, it's still going to have that durability and that weight capacity to says it does. crosstalk 00:10:19 Take away from some of the hitches that you can put the ball around the backside and store them there instead. You can't do that on this one.But I'm thinking a person that's looking at a BulletProof one and wants heavy-duty they don't really care about style as much other than it's saying it's BulletProof, sounds pretty cool. But other than that, I think they're getting it for just function and not style or extra stuff. Lindsey: Yeah. The only one that you're supposed to be allowed to actually store in the back is the BMW Tow & Stow. And I would guess that, yeah, that customer is more a loyal BMW customer who really likes the branding. And it's more about the BMW lifestyle, as opposed to the rough and tumble heavy-duty, I'm a real tower kind of that. How much of that is cast versus welded I'm assuming the gusset as welded on and the channel's welded on. But is the shank itself, does it. Is it welded together or is it all castA.J.: It looks like it's welded. Well, the shank itself looks fine. It looks like it's welded to these parts here. Jay: Yeah, but the shank itself crosstalk 00:11:25A.J.: Is solid. Lindsey: Okay. Speaker 4: Do, not all of them have a solid shank, right I think some of them. A.J.: Right. Speaker 4: Some have. A.J.: The medium one does not. The medium one over here. Let me set this down. This one has a hollow shank. Speaker 4: Right. Lindsey: And it's still going to be fine for what it's rated for. You're just saving on material costs. A.J.: Yeah, and I mentioned that too. Since it's a little bit lighter than the other ones, you're not going to be towing as heavy stuff. You could probably add an anti-rattle on the inside. If it did rattle around a little bit since the lighter than the other ones, and you can take care of that. Speaker 4: Was there a lot of rattle overall I mean, I know that you're taking these two parts, the ball mount and the actual channel, and you're putting them together since it's not like a single part. Is there a lot of rattleA.J.: There's a little bit of movement. We can check out the one that's in the hitch here. We've got the offset one. If we didn't mention that at the beginning, there is the offset version. So it's got the lift and the ride on it. That way you don't have to flip it as much. You can just move this up and down. I think it's a 4" here and 6" down there. So you can flip it however you want to use it. It does rattle a little bit, but there's also nothing putting any pressure down on there. So I assume when you have a trailer down on there, it's going to take out a lot of movement. But it does move a little bit. The ball moves very little bit, but these pins are really sturdy. I really liked those. I say that in the video too because a lot of these things, it's hard to get your hands in these places and pull these pins out without scratching the crap out of your hands or pinching them somewhere.I like that this is on the side. Very clear and easy just to pop that pin out, the clip out. I'm sorry. Then you pull that pin out. And the other thing is, all of. I was impressed that all the ones we've worked with, all the holes are drilled properly. Sometimes I'm used to trying to twist it, and you have to fight that pin to push it in there. And I don't want to do that every time. What if I have to flip this around These worked every time, really easy to slide in and out. So I was impressed with those little things, just because of all the bad rusty ball mounts I've dealt with around here from customers and stuff that. That sucks. Lindsey: Yeah. How's the finish in there too I guess that is the first place it'll start wearing off. In the bolt holes. A.J.: I saw online that the customers say after they bought and sold a few times, the ball scratches pretty easily. But again, I think that goes back to who's buying this one. They're not really looking at style. They don't need it shiny looking and fancy. I think they just using it to tow, and it gets scratched. It's going to get scratched. That's how I was thinking. It looks like it's scratched a little bit on the inside here when I moved it up and down. So. Lindsey: Yeah. I mean, it's the nature of the beast. You're going to have some scratching in there. I do think style wise, I like the look of the matte black a lot more than the gloss myself. A.J.: Yeah. I agree. Speaker 4: It's simple. There's not a lot of like thrill to it, I guess. But I like that. A.J.: Yeah. Because the Gen-Y one's got a lot going on. Where they got the crosstalk 00:14:33 I mean, that's a benefit to pull that out and sliding it in a channel. And then adding the pin. Because you do have to lift this up and move it, but you only put, you can just put the top pin in. And then it goes into place pretty easily. Lindsey: And we have lock sets I think too, right That crosstalk 00:14:55 in the channel. If you got inaudible 00:15:00 those or anything. Jay: Yeah. And we're using one right now to lock it into the hitch, and you can get it in kits of one, two, or threes. So they'll work to replace those pins as well. We're actually going to shoot that video for the lock kits right after this huddle. Lindsey: Oh, cool. A.J.: There's the lock here. Locks are kind of interesting. I had issues with the key. Or I guess not so much the key but pushing them back into place. They're supposed to be able to just push it right back on there. Let's see if I can get it to do it. And there's this very, very slight click. Like you can barely hear it. It doesn't push on there as easy as I feel like it should. I don't know what's up with that. You're going to shove on it just to get it.Put it on there. Oh yeah. It works now in the huddle. Of course, it does. That's just fine. Lindsey: Is this the, is this from BulletProof or is this InfiniteRuleA.J.: This is from BulletProof. Lindsey: It is BulletProof. Okay, cool. I couldn't remember between BulletProof and Gen-Y and all the others who we actually had locks from them for. A.J.: Right. Lindsey: Speaking of Gen-Y since you brought them up too, I think those are going to be two of the most often compared also. Because if you're looking for HD first, you're looking at being in the HD market of actually towing that much weight. But second of all, if you're the kind of person who also wants to just look like you can tow that much weight, I think you're between BulletProof and the Gen-Y for a lot of stuff. So have you guys played around with the Gen-Ys and kind of gotten a feel for the main default functions and differences, the obvious differences Do you have an opinion between the twoA.J.: I have limited exposure to the Gen-Y, so we did look it up and go mess with them in the store for the huddle. So I could compare it. Kind of goes back to what I was saying earlier. There's a lot more going on with the Gen-Y. They have the compartments in there, which was fine, I guess, for moving that ball a little bit easier. It also came with the pencil attachment that goes in there too. So it's set up the tow like that. So I guess that's what you're looking at with the more heavy-duty stuff. Now these do have the accessories, so you can change that. I did like that part. But it looks like Gen-Y has that as well. They have the accessories. I liked the aspect of getting the ball mount, and it being able to adapt with you. So you're never going to have the same trailer forever. You might get something else and need a different trailer for it. You get those options of the pencil and the clevis, and you can even put a step on both of them to have to put on top of them. So I thought that was going to be the big difference, but it turns out they have the same kind of accessories for it. Otherwise, I think it comes down to finish. And I think those are a lot heavier too, aren't they Because they're just so much more to them to add all the compartments in there and stuff. Lindsey: Yeah. They're a lot heavier. They're also going to stick out a little bit further because they have the receivers built in. So the receivers are going to come a little bit further out and then the ball mount is going to come a little bit further out because you have to put it in the receiver. So I think both of those things you'll have to take in. If you already have a huge truck that takes up however much space, you're going to be taking up even more space by leaving that ball mount in, which frankly I would do because they're super, super heavy. A.J.: Yeah, I don't want to take it in and out all the time. And same thing, I don't want to hit my shin on it every time I'm walking by either. But I guess it's so big, I should be seeing it when I'm walking around the back the truck. And then if you take it out, you going to have to have somewhere to store it in your truck too when it's that big, I guess. It takes up a lot of crosstalk 00:18:29Lindsey: I guess on the Gen-Ys, you could always, if you're afraid of having that extra space there or walking into it, you could always remove the little ball amount insert, at least, so you only have the channels sticking out. A.J.: Yeah. Lindsey: To your point, you're still going to have them somewhere. A.J.: Yeah, I guess you can remove. Bob: inaudible 00:18:47. Because then they'll be able to lower their tailgate. A.J.: You want us to lower the tailgateBob: Yeah. crosstalk 00:18:58 True. If it sticks out more, a lot of times you can't lower your tailgate because of the jack on the trailer. And if you get that extra two or 3", usually then the tailgate will come down, and you can lower it all the way down without hitting the jack. Matt: And that makes sense. Bob: inaudible 00:19:14 tight to the truck, you aren't going to be able to lower your tailgate with the jack up there. Lindsey: I didn't think about that. That's something good for the Gen-Ys then. A.J.: Yeah. Matt: I jumped in a little bit late on this meeting. What a drop and rise did you say this product wasJay: Oh, there's a lot of different ones. This one in particular. A.J.: This one. Jay: Yeah. I mean, this one is a 4" rise and a 6" drop. A.J.: This is the offset. Got it on top and bottom, but there's a bunch of different versions for all the different inaudible 00:19:53 these. Lindsey: I think we we're saying, was it the heavy-duty or the medium duty goes up to a 16 and then. Jay: The heavy-duty. Yeah. Lindsey: And then there's a 12", I think is the maximum on the extreme duty. I think that was. Matt: Yeah, got you. Lindsey: So pretty much anything you want, MattMatt: Well, I was actually looking at I think the eight and the 10" drop. Because my truck, depending on where I go with my trucks the next couple years because I tow. But I was also. I think Bob just mentioned it a little bit. I was curious how much room you have with the hitch you have in now with the tailgate down because there's times when I'll tow, but I need to put the tailgate down to get something out of the bed of the truck. So I'm always curious how much space there is. Jay: This one. That's a better angle. So even with that 4" rise, it still clears. Matt: Yeah. Lindsey: Yeah. And that's what's nice about the offset you had even more, but I mean only 4" rise, but you have the drop built into depending on what you're towing. Jay: Yep. Matt: Right.Well, I think it's safe to say with a hitch like this though, you're going to have a truck that's a little bit higher than this one. I think this, these type of hitches are more for a lifted truck where you have to crosstalk 00:21:07 down more so than up. Speaker 4: And the gusset is pretty close to the bumper. It's not too close, is itJay: No, I'd say it's got 3". Speaker 4: Yeah. It's got a good amount of clearance even when it's in the rise. That's good to see. A.J.: They said it might interfere with Rock Tamers though. Jay: Yeah. If you have accessories that crosstalk 00:21:30. A.J.: Rock Tamers around there. That might not be enough space for that collar to fit around. Bob: Hey Jay, are there two holes in the shankA.J.: Yes. Bob: inaudible 00:21:43 pin. Jay: What was that, BobBob: What hole are you in right now With the one that's in the truck. Jay: crosstalk 00:21:52 We used the one that's closest to the ball in all of them. So there's more of the shank in there. Lindsey: So, if you back it out, will it still not be working with Rock TamersJay: Yep. It will give it a little bit more room. A.J.: So, that's the second hole there. Bob: inaudible 00:22:20 the stuff we we're talking about except for maybe lowering the tailgate. Jay: Yeah, because. Bob: crosstalk 00:22:27Jay: What was out there. So, that gives you a lot more room. A.J.: The pin has to holes as well. Bob: inaudible 00:22:41 Two and a half. Jay: Yeah, so on this 2" hitch. Both those holes are visible, but on Bob's hitch the two and a half only the outside one was visible. So that's where you'd put the clip in there. Bob: I'm wondering why inaudible 00:23:01 in the middle, when, got a lock on the endJay: Because we had to push the cylinder so hard just to get it locked. It was nice having that clip in there. So it didn't just push the pin out the other side. A.J.: We had to push on it pretty good just to get that to snap into place. Jay: That, and there's less play back and forth now. So if you kind of wiggle it back and forth. Lindsey: Yeah. If it's for the two, like you said inaudible 00:23:27 Without that pin in the 2", it's just going to slide back and forth. Jay: Yeah. So that kind of takes up that play. Bob: Well, can you open the tailgate again, A.J. Lindsey: Very carefully. Matt: Yeah. You're going to hit the lip. Lindsey: Yeah. Matt: I won't bet my life on it, but. Bob: Truck specific, I guess. Jay: No. It clears. Bob: Still makes it. That's good. Speaker 4: So I guess one other question I have, and I think I might've remembered when I was actually getting hands on with these when we first brought them on, is the actual hitch ball. Is that pretty easy to move up and down the channel Is it pretty heavy to keep standard, or is it. A.J.: Yeah, it moves very smooth. You just pull the pins like that. Adjust it wherever you want. Flip it over. Jay: Everything's very well machines. So, all the fitment and everything, we didn't have any problems with pins. We didn't have any problems from the channel. It was all really well put together. Speaker 4: It's good to hear. Lindsey: Are these American madeJay: I believe so. Yes. Speaker 4: The Gen-Y hitch one is American made too. So. Lindsey: Yeah. I'm thinking about max tows, and those guys that are the traditional kind of standard imports with the adjustable shank that, yeah, like you said, the machining isn't always the best on or the finish flakes off super easily, that kind of thing. So, but of course you don't have to pay nearly as much for it. A.J.: That's true. Speaker 4: Anything else, anyone I, you guys have answered all my questions. It was great to see these get installed and see how they look. A.J.: Yeah. It worked really well. I was impressed by them. I like how it's kind of, no-frills just heavy-duty. I know if I had a trailer or something, I would definitely use them. Speaker 4: Something you can count on. Lindsey: Would you use this or would you, I shouldn't say would you use it. Of course. It's a nice product, I guess. Would you pay for this product or would you probably pay for just the one that'll kind of get you byA.J.: I guess it depends on what I'm towing, and what I bought. Right now, I don't have anything to tow, but if I did, I don't know. If I was using it a whole bunch. I'd probably, I know better from working here that I should probably invest in something that's going to last rather than buy something that's just going to get me by for a little bit, you knowEspecially when I can customize it. So if I did buy something in a trailer, and I'm like, "All right. Cool. I can tow with this. I'm getting used to that." Then I'm going to want more toys. So I'm going to buy other stuff and then I can buy whatever accessories with this. I know I don't have to buy 10 different ball mounts to keep in the back of my truck. I can just buy this and have the accessories that I can change on the fly when I need to. Lindsey: Yeah. I guess I'm wondering like Matt, I know you've talked about the BulletProof and the Gen-Y and stuff even a couple of years ago when we first started with them, and you we're kind of excited about them because you have a nice truck and you tow. I mean, are you the guy who you're going to invest in this kind of product Or are you the guy who, "They're really cool, I'd like to have it, but I'm just going to work with whatever I got."Matt: My personal opinion is I lean heavy towards the BulletProof more so than other brands, mostly because of the construction. I like the aspect that they weld, the ball's in place. They're not removable. And if you look at the C channel and then all the brackets on the back of it, it's thick. I mean, it's heavy-duty and for somebody that tows often, but not every single day or every single week, I think it's an investment to make sure that what you have there, hooked to your trailer, is going to last. And a lot of people who have aftermarket lift kits, bigger tires and wheels and trucks, they can jump behind this product because there's such an array of different drops and rises. So I personally like them. If I we're more towing every week or multiple times a week, I might lean heavier towards another brand. But I like these a lot. Lindsey: What kind of brand would be better for towing all the time Are you looking at something that's easier to use, or is there something that you know of that's just heavier dutyMatt: Yeah. See, the thing is is I don't tow frequent enough to, yeah, say it a hundred percent. But if I work at tow every day, I think it would be. I'm trying to think of all the other brands that we carry. I would say, what was the other brand we mentioned earlier that we're directly comparing this toLindsey: I think the Gen-Ys. Matt: Gen-Y. There you go. So Gen-Y in my opinion would be the leader if you're towing frequently. Mostly because it supports a better ride. The components are there to make sure it's not a stiff, harsh ride. And it moves with the trailer, less trailer sway in how it's built. Yeah. They're a little bit pricier, but I think you get what you paid for with those, kind of like BulletProof. You're paying for the heavy-duty aspect, and you get what you pay for with anything like these types of products. Lindsey: So you're talking about the Gen-Ys that have the built in torsion that are actually going to really help reduce the bouncing and sway Yeah. That makes sense. Matt: Yeah, because I would assume most people that are towing frequently are going to be towing at least three to 5,000 pounds regularly. Maybe more depending on what your business is, but if you're towing like heavy equipment or anything like that, and you still have a bumper pull type trailer, the Gen-Y would be the way to go in my mind. Lindsey: I'll buy into that. Speaker 4: Anything else, anyone It's been a really good discussion. I think these products were. We've had them on the site for a pretty good amount of time, but it's great seeing these installed the way you guys have done it. So, we appreciate it. A.J.: No problem. I guess, while Matt was talking, I was thinking. If you we're to buy a trailer, and you we're pulling it, and you only have one trailer, will you still go at something versatile like this But if I only had like one boat trailer, would it be better for me to get something that would just specifically the exact rise or drop I needed for the vehicle I had at that time. And I guess I would rather invest in something that can go onto my next vehicle. Because eventually I'm going to upgrade to something else. But I wonder if there was any detriment to picking one that did have all these options or anything like thatBob: Yeah. I think the person who owns the trailer, the average person who owns a trailer owns 2.5 trailers. So there you go. Once you have one, you're probably going to end up with another one because, "Oh, yeah. This is not as hard as I thought it was. It's not as big a deal as I thought it was. And now I need a trailer to do this or that." So, then that's where the adjustable ball mount comes in really handy. You're not trying to figure out which one is the right one every time and storing them in the truck, so they're handy when you do need them. Lindsey: I guess if it was something. Matt: crosstalk 00:31:09 Something to think about to think about too. Sorry, go ahead, Lindsey. Lindsey: I am probably going to say the same thing you are, but you're the actual truck owner so you go for it. Matt: What I was going to say is if you think about it too, a lot of people that a tow frequently, normally if it's a small business, you're going to have multiple vehicles. And if those hitch sizes are the same, you can just change out the ball mount to a different vehicle. And with one like this, where it's so adjustable, it can work with multiple vehicles depending on how high they ride or the load that they're carrying, et cetera, et cetera. So, to me, it just gives you more options when you have the drop and rise like this one we're looking at. A.J.: Hopefully that shed some light on the heavy-duty, the medium, and the extreme and helped you pick out which one's going to work best for you and your truck and your trailer. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..

BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitch - 11-1/4" Drop, 11" Rise - 36K - ED2510

Average Customer Rating:  4.9 out of 5 stars   (440 Customer Reviews)

The thick channel plates and welded gusset on this solid steel ball mount make it perfect for heavy-duty use. Tow up to 12K with the 2" ball or 36K with the 2-5/16" ball. Adjustable design lets you tow trailers of various heights.

by:

This hitch is massive! But it is a work of art. The welds are beautiful and the powder coat flawless. I can't imagine ever putting 36k on a ball but I have no doubts that it would handle it.

Still functioning and looking as excellent as it did the day it arrived. Well built hitch, truly fits my needs.

by:

I need a solution for my BMW SUV to tow my boat and trailer with two ball sizes and very different height requirements. This worked perfectly. The name Bulletproof fits well - I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and engineering.

by:

I am totally shocked by the weight and quality of the product. Not even one scratch on the finish. It shipped from Illinois to Dallas in only 3 days for free. Now I know why they are called BulletProof. Perfect for my lifted truck. I wished I had gotten this a long time ago!

by:

I bought this hitch just under one year. To date, the hitch has performed fine. HOWEVER, the cheap powder coating has turned the entire hitch into a an eyesore. Its just rusting like mad, and the powder coat is now flaking in large chunks. Looks like crap on the back of the truck. I don't even live in an area where salt accumulates or they use it on the roadway.

by:

Awesome product and great price. This Bulletproof hitch is definitely well built. I see no problems ahead with this hitch.

by:

Sent me the wrong hitch. Ordered the 6” drop, received the 4” drop. Hitch itself is ok, powder coating wore off ball and where it goes into receiver on first use.

by:

Fast delivery, well packed, and the hitch is bad a**, heavy duty quality and very versatile. If your looking for an adjustable hitch this is what you want!!!

by:

Alex was great to work with. When I called he took the time to understand what I needed and help to find a solution. This was not the first time I have purchased from eTrailer nor will it be the last.

by:

Beyond expectations. People come by complimenting on my hitch and asking where I bought it. I did not realize other hitches break. Well, this one won't break

by:

Overall appearance is fantastic. Very heavy and appears to be indestructible. We will see how it holds up over time.

by:

Well packaged, fast shipping, it's going to give me the adjustability I need on my hitch and maintain the hitch towing capacity.

by:

Extremely noisy. Powder coat peeled almost immediately and the tolerances on the pins makes this rattle horribly. I finally got so sick of the noise I cut foam to put between the ball mount and receiver. This hitch has not seen much use and only for light duty (under 10k lbs). I won't buy another one. All of the other hitches we have are Andersen Rapid Hitch. I tried this after all the claims by BulletProof on how great they are. Very disappointed

by:

My first and ongoing impression with your company: Friendly, competent people providing quality services. The hitch is everything I hoped it'd be, and should provide years of dependable service. Thanks again! I will use your outfit again without hesitation and tell others the same..

by:

I own several adjustable 2-1/2" hitches and like this one a lot. It isn't terribly heavy for being steel and is very easy to adjust. I like the pins versus the key-operated mechanism on my aluminum adjustable hitch. Works great with my Chevy 2500 and various trailers and boats from 5000 to 14000 lbs.

by:

Work as it should. Worth the money.

by:

So far I am extremely happy with this hitch. It is very heavy duty. My towing capacity has changed and needed to upgrade to a heavy duty hitch. I have no doubts this is going to be Bulletproof!! It is very well built and a solid shank.

by:

Fast shipping! Great service! This is my go to place for all my trailer & towing needs

by:

Worst customer service ever. Took almost two months for them to deliver my purchased items to me. After a few weeks of phone calls asking where my stuff was they finally delivered my items, later than the 5-7 business days they promised as well. I will never buy anything from this website again.

by:

The hitch looks very well made. I recently made some changes to my 02 F250 and needed a drop hitch.I mostly pull a #10000 GTW equipment trailer but occasionally pull a #14000 GTW dump trailer and a utility trailer with a 2" ball. This hitch fits my needs perfectly.

by:

Our hitch arrived fast. The box was marked a different size than what we ordered. A quick phone call to them helped us determine what we received was what we ordered and needed. Thank you.

I purchased the 2-1/2" Bulletproof Adj Ball Mount for my 2019 RAM 2500 (Laramie, 4WD, 20" Rims&Tires, Off-Road Suspension) to have 1 mount for various trailers. This replaces various 2" mounts used on my 01 Silverado 2500. This is one serious, substantial piece of equipment! Heavy, good welds, nice powder coating! Pix compares this mount with a 7500# 2" Draw-tite mount. Nothing wrong with the Draw-tite, but no comparison in mass.
Some measurements, if interested: Truck: inside top of Receiver: 25" above grade. Bottom of mount without balls: 9-3/4" above grade (clearance). With 2-5/16" ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 17" above grade. bottom of 2" ball: 9-1/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-7/8" above grade. With 2" Ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 16-1/2" above grade; bottom of 2-5/16" ball: 8-3/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-1/2" above grade.
etrailer shipped quickly, only in original box from Bulletproof, with no exterior shipping box, but box was completely taped, so package arrived in good shape.
1 minor complaint: no pin included for securing mount into receiver.
