Jake: Hey guys, Jake here at Etrailer. Today I'm going to show you how to replace your hasp on your enclosed trailer. This hasp is going to come in three different varieties. It's going to come in a zinc-plated steel, like we have here, aluminum and stainless steel. This is one part on your trailer that's often forgotten about for example this is the hasp that we replaced as you can see it's a little rusty, it doesn't work as smoothly, at times it'll squeak which is annoying. The new hasp is going to work very smoothly compared to our old one, obviously you can see it's got quite a bit of rust on it, that's where the zinc-plated finish, the aluminum and the stainless steel are all going to help to combat so that your new one isn't going to face the elements like her old one did.Now the operation is going to be the same as any hasp that you are familiar with.
It will have this little tab to hold it open which is a nice feature because I have used hasps in the past that do not have this little tab and it's a two-handed job, you have to hold it up to latch it in place. It is going to have a hole in both of the brackets to be able to put a padlock in. A quick note, the measurements between the holes are going to be four inches center on center, just so you know, so that you can match it up to your old existing holes. Now something to keep in mind, this kit is not going to come with new hardware so you're either going to have to pick up new hardware or you're going to have to use your old hardware that you took out of your old hasp. With that being said, it's a fairly simple installation so we'll go ahead and show you how to do that now.We lined it up with our old pre-existing holes and the holes are not going to line up so we're going to have to drill another hole and we will be able to reuse our old hardware, but we're going to go ahead and drill out that hole.Then we're going to be reinserting the hardware that came out of these holes on our old latch because I like how they have a flush mount design on the inside.
If you need to pick up new hardware, go ahead and just pick up the same bolts, they are going to have the same size square as the latch does. Then we can go ahead and test fit it after we got everything safely secured. Now we can take some gasket sealer or some caulk and fill in any holes that might be still present. Here we're just using some white caulk to patch up that hole.Once you're finished with the installation, you're ready to lock up your trailer and hit the road. Well guys, that's going to do it for our look at and installation of the replacement hasp on our enclosed trailer..

I replaced them with these Stainless Steel ones. Fit the same holes. (measure to make sure yours will fit!)
This is a good hasp. I was impressed with the price and shipping was fast. It is stainless steel and I feel that it is more secure than the factory original that was cut when my trailer was broken into and one of my shotguns was stolen.
I do wish that your website would have suggested the mounting hardware that goes with this hasp. I was able to reuse the old hardware but it was bent from the break in and it was a little to long so a stack up of washers was required for a time until I found the correct hardware. The stainless metal is a little thinner than the original so the outer part of the hasp wouldn't rest against the tab that is designed to hold it out of the way. Again, I feel that this was a hardware issue. An option for a kit with matching stainless hardware would have been the best for me but I didn't have that option.
Overall a great product by itself.

I like this door hasp. The hole pattern is different from the factory unit, but, in my case i was building a new door and that did not matter. There is no rust occurring after one year of being outside in the weather.

Working so well, it helped sell the trailer
Old galvanized hasp was beginning to rust and had to be replaced due to a break in. This replacement stainless steel hasp was only a couple of dollars more than the galvanized and am looking forward to see how its appearance holds up. Have bought previous items from etrailer as the prices are good and the shipping is fast and the charges reasonable. Beats running around town trying to find replacement parts.
Nice product. I ordered these to replace the stock latches on my cargo trailer. These latches work great with my enclosed padlocks.
I needed to replace one of my ramp door latches, so I decided to replace both so it would match. There are lots of them on the market, but I decided that I wanted to replace mine with the original stainless steel ones.
These were a perfect match and worked great, if you’re looking to match the original, I would recommend these.

Great fit, and I like the fact that it's stainless. I only wish it included mounting hardware. I could not find stainless mounting hardware to match the latch.

So far so good. Bought stainless steel thinking it would be harder to cut with bolt cutters[what happened last time, didn't cut the lock cut the hasp] No attempts to break in so far. ajland

all in good shape the SS hasps are ruggged and the security ticket for my locks
